I just listened to this for the second time. What caught me this time was what you were saying about boxers who believe they are the best, the can't be beaten, how can you really train with that attitude. You are spot on with your analysis, glad I listened again. Just for the record, I too lived through the 80s, I am 53, and for me Lennox Lewis is the best heavyweight of all time. It's just my opinion, so people please don't come at me over an opinion.
Yes on a personal level. Joshua doesn't like Lennox Lewis as a person because of Lewis' unnecessary constant digs and criticism at Joshua and other fighters and not letting the new boxing era flourish on their own without Lewis digging his nose in and trying to always be involved and make unnecessary noise and criticism. On the Other hand, Joshua said he completely respects Lewis as a fighter and regards him as one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time.
@@michaell4943 ... I have never once heard Lennox hate on Joshua, his criticism was warrant and not to mention correct, Lennox just saw past the fake Armor that Eddie Hearn had built around Aj, name me another fighter Lennox hates on cz when he does fights he give nothing but love and respect to guys!!! If Aj was smart he would have BEEN humbled himself and reached out to ask Lennox to at least help train him
It's funny, when you read Emmanuel's interviews I swear I can hear his voice talking. Such a smart, insightful and soulful man. He had soo much wisdom an realness to him. One of a kind Emmanuel Stewart RIP
Lennox was a special fighter and would have cleaned up in any era. His repertoire was vast, his power was utterly destructive and his results speak for themselves.
@@code44422 80's was awful. 70's also overrated because of the legendary wars ali had, chuck wepner was ranked top 8 in the world for several years in the 70's and wepner (with all due respect) was a bum.
My coach in Canada trained Lennox for a while and he said he was very lazy. He said he always motivating him and getting him to train. But this was before the Olympics so he probably changed a lot.
Excellent video hatman. I was born in 80 and the 90’s era made me a boxing fan. I’m more of a hardcore fan these days, but we were blessed in the 90’s with the boxing on itv and the super heavy weight fights.
This was a really good work Hat Man.... for moments you sound inspired and like you were reading poetry! Excellent! I listened to this 2 times, once on the broken down version and then this complete one! Enjoyed both a lot! Greetings from Venezuela my friend. Manny Stewart and Lennox Lewis belong to the top 10 of all times! This kind of work should definitely educate that “Army of insanity” lol!
Everything you talked about with Lennox is why it dewilders me the AJ won't humble himself and reach out to Lennox, one of if not the best Hw Champs ever and trained by one of if not the best trainers of all time... AJ tripn, put that fake beef and pride aside and see whats up
He has money to feed 4 generations. He doesn’t care about legacy anymore and that’s fine tbh. Some people just fight for financial gain just like most of us work jobs for financial gain
Was he right about Aj or hating??? Just because u don't praise something that everyone else is praising doesn't mean your hating... he never critiqued him outside of his skill set as a fighter, and that's Lennox's job
IMO I've always thought Lewis may not have been the greatest HW of all time, he was however the best HW of all time. In terms of the combination of his size, athletic abilities, hand-speed, footwork, boxing skill, ring IQ, punch resistance, and knockout power made him a nightmare to fight when he was under Steward's mentorship. I think the Klitscho's came close, but Wlad never had Lewis's heart, and Vitali never had Lewis' athleticism and talent. Greatest of all time for me has still got to be Joe Lewis, with Ali being number 2, after that there are a number of guys who i think could deserve the ranking of number 3, from Frazier, to Rocky, to Dempsey, Jack Johnson, Holmes, Hollyfield, Foreman, Tyson, and now maybe even Usyk, but for me I think number 3 should be Lennox. But in terms of the best all around HW of time - Lennox definitely is my number 1
Nice video what you said at the end about people always saying about the heavyweight division being a mess and bad fights ect I have always felt the same now with aj fury wilder whyte ect ect but I think its been really good over recent times
Mike Tyson was getting out boxed by Frans Botha. Those fixed fights after. I knew it was over for Iron Mike. The Lewis fights most likely should not have been sanctioned.
Lewis would have blew anyone away today. I hated Lewis with a passion for years and that causes you to not appreciate how good someone really is. I believe Lewis is definitely in the top 3 heavyweights since boxing began. Possibly the best ever. When you hear people talking about Fury being an all time great it makes me laugh. His resume isn't even 10% of Lewis. He won a terrible fight against an ancient Vlad and beat Wilder whose record is littered with a load of nobodies who have as many losses as wins. The rest are nobodies.
Omg... I swear you sound like me, I was young, black and from the hood in a America so Lewis was arrogant and just not from America when I was young, hated him... but as I got older and understood the sport more, Lewis is the best HW of All Time IMO... he beats anyone ever once he got with Stewart!!! Too big, too skilled, too powerful, too everything
@@bryandungee1029 Stewart enabled Lewis to show his full potential. I am certain if Vlad and Lewis had ever fought and both were at their peak, Lewis would have done an Andrew Golota on him. In the 90s I was a massive Holyfield fan and wouldn't accept that anyone was better than him. Well I was wrong. Holyfield was good but he was also definitely on steroids. Lewis was a big strong natural heavyweight that beat everyone in a division that was littered with top heavyweights.
@@ukmark9211 ... talk to me lol... yea Holyfield was 100% on roids and I was never a big fan... and I also agree with Lewis beating Vlad... Vlad was a bad boy but he came in at the perfect time, when Moorer and Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield and those boys were gone or on their way out, he caught Calvin Brock and guys like that so I don't see him as a match for Lewis...
After watching his videos for many years ive picked up that he was a fairly established amateur but correct me if im wrong had to retire from turning heavy weight pro due to eye problems?
People always look at the past with some fondness or it wouldn't be called reminiscing. But the 90s was more of a silver age not a golden age. Today ain't even bronze i think you just want to say you say a golden area to impress the younger fans of boxing when you get older lmao

Manny Steward was the greatest trainer and boxing analyst of all time
