I buy Acorn squash all the time. I just split them in half, scoop out seeds, add some butter and cinnamon and a bit of brown sugar, bake for about 40 minutes and they come out delicious everytime. No need to peel either.

Hi Brenda and David. It would be easier to cut your squash in half like you did and, of course take out the seeds. Put olive oil on your baking sheet or use parchment paper. Some people use tin foil. Line your sheet. Place the squash halfs on the baking sheet skin side down. Rub olive oil or butter on the inside of the squash. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Some people sprinkle a bit of brown sugar in it. Bake at 350 till done. You know it is done when your fork can go through easily. Let cool then scrape out the inside. Discard the peel. Then make your recipe. No need to peel raw squash.❤

Use them often, I poke holes around with a fork and microwave for 10 mins then cut and scoop out seeds . Then just scoop the meat of the skins. Saves a lot of cutting and peeling. I love the idea of adding pecans thank you Brenda and David . Much love and good wishes from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦💕

They have a frozen 12 oz. bag at Walmart. I gave some in my freezer right now. May I make a suggestion? You may want to try acorn or butternut squash with onion powder, garlic powder, rosemary -fresh sprigs, and sage. Roasted in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil or avocado oil.

I'd use butter and brown sugar (instead of maple syrup) and sprinkle with a little cinnamon or nutmeg. I like the idea of just cutting in half and roasting with the skin on--it's too much work to peel them. You could just add nuts to half if you don't like them.

My grandmother made something similar, but she used butternut squash. She cut up the squash, and covered it with brown sugar, added a little half & half or milk, and pats of butter on top of the brown sugar. Cover and bake. I still make it that way. I truly love your videos and can barely wait for the next one. Brenda listening to you and David scrapping back and forth and the stories you both tell of your childhood are so wonderful to listen to. I can relate to those times.
