Soapy a fait un très bon boulot! Il a réécrit le code et optimiser les lignes un peu brouillons (vu que le jeu a été rushé) et a profité de ne plus avoir l'hardware de la version PS1 pour proposer un jeu qui a une très bonne allure. C'est vraiment une rédécouverte du jeu que j'ai faite lors de mes lives du mode histoire le week-end passé!

On est pas des millions à vouloir un nouveau Driver digne de ce nom, mais tu représente bien la poignée de fans qui s'y accroche (dont moi). Et grace à vous et notamment Soapy, Driver prend enfin la forme définitive qu'il mérite. Un vrai bon jeu avec sa communauté. Merci =)
I love your videos Vortex, my first games on the ps1 and ps2 was Driver 2 and Driv3r. Keep the good work. And of course, is amazing that finally we have a Driver 2 PC Port. Congratulations on the team and it would be great if the same team make REDRIVER 1, there is a PC Port, but nothing like the PS1 feel and soundtrack.
Being able to play the Driver 1 cities in REDRIVER 2 might be possible one day. But the Driver 2 cities were already a great improvement over the ones from the first game artistic and design wise.
@@VortexStory As You said in one of your videos, someday they Will be possible to do custom missions or add cities. I believe they can improve the Driver 1 cities to better ones or Even to mix the Driver 1 to have the features of the PC and Even Driver 2 ones.

I think that smoothness makes the game easier because the controls are way more responsive so you can react faster! But tell me if it gives you the same impression!
This is a great tutorial, so I'm guessing it's my fault that I can't get the game to work! When I load the game, it plays the introduction video and then crashes to desktop. I might suggest unpacking the game since you running it from CD image (feature might be bugged). Also using release build instead of latest Appveyor artifact might fix the issue
@@ULTRASLiDER Thanks for replying. I should have mentioned that I started with the unpacked game and I've tried on a release build too - I'm getting the same result every time. What I think I'll do is start from scratch with it and see if that eliminates any mistakes I've made along the way.

@@dennishubner7926 According to the documentation I checked, this version should work. In any case, extracting PS1 CD Files will not harm your computer!

Hi! PC version is totally different from the PS1 so the gameshark codes are not compatible between the two versions. However, further work (including Open Driver 2) would make modding easier, including (I guess) the example you're giving but from a different way.

Did not work, here :( After all the steps, I try to launch, but appears the message: "REDRIVER2_dev.exe has stopped working". I'm using Windows 8.1 and doesn't run even on compatibility modes :( Any ideas?
From the readme on git the controller mappings would follow the same relative bindings as the PS1 controller. The keyboard bindings are stored Inside a config.ini file and can be remaped there. There's also a few graphical options like render res, fullscreen, bilinear filtering, etc on that config.ini

It means you have the 1.1 version of Driver 2! It doesn't glitch in 1.0 (it's a Driver 2 glitch which was ported to REDRIVER 2, maybe it will be patched out).

In my case, I got 2 discs. Do I have to do the same steps for both of them? If so, will I be able to continue my save file on disc 2? Thank you very much!
Only 1 disc is required if you don't care about the cutscenes (CGI & audio of the ingame cutscenes). If you want them, you need to follow the complete setup. In ReDriver 2, there is no need to change disc whatever the setup you do!

For cutscenes, you need to do the complete installation as explained in the video. Vegas and Rio are unlocked by completing the story mode like in the original game!

Salut! Oui c'est exact. Il faut le jeu d'origine pour pouvoir mettre les fichiers sur ton PC et ensuite ReDriver 2 pourra les utiliser pour lancer le jeu avec des améliorations graphiques

Yes! I haven't bothered dumping mine and grabbed one from the internet! Accordingly to the git the v.1.0 works better than the v.1.1 and Platinum releases. As I wasn't sure if mine physical release was 1.0 or 1.1 I went directly to a v.1.0 dump. Google is your friend! ;)
Hi, I successfully installed this game but I got a problem. The images are disgusting like there are green stripes and the screen is purple and this is horrible. Does anyone had this problem before and know how to solve it ? Thanks in advance.
Hi! 1. I don't know for sure but we need audio (excluding video audio) because the ingame cutscenes has sometimes audio that is not in the video audio (cgi cutscenes). Maybe all files work but it's to avoid having too many uneeded files? 2. You can plug a controller and the mapping of the buttons matches the PS controller! But keyboard works too

Any idea on how to get a ps4 controller to work with this? I've been trying for an hour now trying to get the ps4 controller to work. But even keyboard and mouse controls dont work at all
@@VortexStory the tyres of the cars, the back and front window and taner himself are supposed to be black but they are white and some of the buildings in Havana and Las Vegas are rainbow color that not a big deal but still a little bit disturbing. What are the controls, even for the menu lol. Like X or C is enter and for the gas button. Very strange choice. I wonder if I can change it.
From the readme on git the controller mappings would follow the same relative bindings as the PS1 controller.
The keyboard bindings are stored Inside a config.ini file and can be remaped there.
There's also a few graphical options like render res, fullscreen, bilinear filtering, etc on that config.ini

Hi. ReDriver 2 is running at 30 FPS without framerate issues so it should run much better than the original release.
It might be your config.
Does anyone else glitch through the ground at the havana secret garage or am i installing it wrong?
It means you have the 1.1 version of Driver 2! It doesn't glitch in 1.0 (it's a Driver 2 glitch which was ported to REDRIVER 2, maybe it will be patched out).
Just one question, where are the save files located in this PC port? I would like to know.
C://User//YourName//.driver2 and it's the progress.dat file!

Only 1 disc is required if you don't care about the cutscenes (CGI & audio of the ingame cutscenes). If you want them, you need to follow the complete setup. In ReDriver 2, there is no need to change disc whatever the setup you do!

For cutscenes, you need to do the complete installation as explained in the video.
Vegas and Rio are unlocked by completing the story mode like in the original game!

The secret car in havana was impossible to take, any ideas how to take? (the ground was bugged).
It means you have a 1.1 version. Soapy is working on a patch but the 1.0 will not have that bug.

Oui c'est exact. Il faut le jeu d'origine pour pouvoir mettre les fichiers sur ton PC et ensuite ReDriver 2 pourra les utiliser pour lancer le jeu avec des améliorations graphiques

Accordingly to the git the v.1.0 works better than the v.1.1 and Platinum releases.
As I wasn't sure if mine physical release was 1.0 or 1.1 I went directly to a v.1.0 dump.

With the release dev, you already get a decent amount of cheats in the debug options from the pause menu. Game Shark Codes are not compatible.

Hi, I successfully installed this game but I got a problem. The images are disgusting like there are green stripes and the screen is purple and this is horrible. Does anyone had this problem before and know how to solve it ? Thanks in advance.

1. I don't know for sure but we need audio (excluding video audio) because the ingame cutscenes has sometimes audio that is not in the video audio (cgi cutscenes). Maybe all files work but it's to avoid having too many uneeded files?
2. You can plug a controller and the mapping of the buttons matches the PS controller! But keyboard works too

The file "psx.lib" doesn't appear to me when extracting the .zip. The game doesn't work for me :`(
In the ReDriver 2 zip, there is no psx.lib. It should be there when you extract the files from your Driver 2 PS1 CD

VortexStory does not specify the error, when I open the game I get an ad saying "This stopped working". I followed the exact steps in the video, but the 'psx.lb' file I don't have, it wasn't downloaded to me

I've been trying for an hour now trying to get the ps4 controller to work.
But even keyboard and mouse controls dont work at all
I use PS4 controller and it works easily. Use Steam first to instal the PS4 plugins.

@@VortexStory the tyres of the cars, the back and front window and taner himself are supposed to be black but they are white and some of the buildings in Havana and Las Vegas are rainbow color that not a big deal but still a little bit disturbing.
