i really like the panel where nami hits york when she talks about ohara and the way robin looks at her, they really feel like sisters and i think it's just cute
The great thing about Saturn saying, "Then leap over him," is that it shows, that he understands human emotions and bonds and is to a degree considerate, but he simply doesn't care on an emotional level, and does it only cause he thinks it leads to a better outcome for him.
I also read it as Saturn not making a deal out of Kizaru doing this mostly because the admiral brought up the practical point that as soon as their attack starts, all the forces Sentomaru commands will retaliate and start sinking ships, so the fastest way to bring this to a close is to take out Sentamaru ASAP to reduce how many of their forces they lose in the first assault.
No, you don't get it, Luffy is not talking to the most powerful beings in the world, they are talking to the Future Pirate king, they fear him not the other way around.
@@BIGBIRD110He isn't. He has barely done anything. It's the barricade that has caused trouble so far. I'm not saying Kizaru will not be trouble, but he has not pushed the crew at all. He has barely done anything 🙄 Luffy sensed him and just said someone strong is around. That's all. He isn't afraid. He's Luffy. He wasn't even scared of Kaido. Acknowledging that someone strong is around is not the same as sweating in the person's presence. This is the type of comment that easily gets dispelled once a chapter gets released
@@Problemsolver434 I'm saying he is pushing the crew alone. Is there anyone currently on the island with him that is going to fight with him? And if you think that expression that Luffy has on his face + the sweating isn't anything but worry/fear, then that's just cope lmao. No reason for him to be looking like that just from sensing a single man
@NineSixSix 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Again, he isn't pushing the crew. He just got there. And that look is Luffy being alert. It's not fear. Luffy has faced people on that caliber before while he was much much weaker and didn't show fear 😂😂😂. One panel of Luffy realising that someone strong is on the Island is not the same as Luffy being afraid. If you think so, you do not know this character at all. Luffy stares down people much stronger than him without fear. 😂😂😂😂
Now I can't hate the guy. I imagine it ain't easy to pay his daily supply of MJ with the average pay of any job other than Navy Admiral, he's just like me fr.
I do like the idea of Kaku regretting his life choices. I feel like he really loved and enjoyed working at Galley La. One is where he jumped from a tall building to go see Merry Go. I feel like he was so happy doing it. I also feel like the portrayal of that panel symbolises the freedom and happiness he felt. Second instance is when Zoro tells him that Paulie told him to tell CP9 that they are fired. He kinda smiles and say “assassins cant find another job, they say” and give Zoro the key. Even here now he’s kinda questioning Lucci. I like the idea for Kaku to have a redemption arc and being able to work in Galley La even though the betrayal. That’s just me.
Oh he absolutely does regret. He reminisces about his Galley La life as Zoro defeats him. And like the second instance you mentioned, it seemed like he was hoping he'd have a chance to go back. Unlike Lucci, he doesn't live for killing people. I think the Galley La really gave him a purpose.
yeah Oda drew child CP9 and Kaku as a child was shown playing with toy ship. since Kaku was 22 at the point of pre-time skip and have been in Galley La for 5 years, he wouldve been 17 when he joined Galley La. If I get to take my dream childhood job when im 17 Id be thrilled.
I was already kind of upset, that he would once again fight for the WG! I hoped we would see him somewhere free and happy (but a redemtion arc on screen would be amazing!)
Kizaru did not enter the dome itself, Sentomaru is on the lower levels near the coastline. But he said that he can probably get through because the barrier is made of light.
Last time Luffy met Kizaru, he lost all his crew and was sent flying away in despair by Kuma. I wonder how he will fare up against Kizaru now that he has defeated Kaido.
They definitely have to have a word or two to exchange, but Luffy has an escape plan to lead so I believe this will be more like the Jimbe VS Big Mom clash on the sunny. "Ehhh... Seems like I can't take them all at once anymore... and I can't leave sight of Saturn's ship... how embarrassing, ehhhh....
The whole Bonney thing makes me wonder why people are so quick to assume Devon when we've literally seen people go through the most heartbreaking stuff and come out the other side stronger, more confident, and less sad people. My thought is since she got to see Kuma's whole memory she probably cried her eyes out and turned all that emotion into renewed strength like we've seen so many times before. Nami said something back in Water 7 that I think applies pretty well to most characters about how when Luffy/Zoro were indecisive they were weak but once they knew what they had to do they were 100x stronger than before. At the start of Egghead Bonney was all over the place she couldn't bring herself to attack the Kuma's around the island and I think she was even a little hesitant to deal with Vegapunk but now she knows what she has to do. I hope she and the crew will have a discussion about the memories once we're safely away I'm sure Luffy will fall asleep or something as always. But at the very least we know that we will help her if there is something we can do. Thinking back, some people have been asking for Franky to do something major and outside of Vegapunk, Franky is one of the greatest minds in the world when it comes to cyborgs/robotics and he was the one who vouched for Kuma back during the Return to Sabaody arc maybe he will be instrumental in bringing Kuma back as a human.
@@Ash_Howl hopefully study because I don’t like the strawhats getting captured because there a yonko crew and I like to think there strong enough not to get captured
Love your reviews, as always! One thing though: Sanji has def been getting positive attention from the ladies ever since the TS. Mermaids, Viola, Pudding, the line of his soba fans, and the lady he saved in Onigashima.
Idk why people think Sanji cant attract ladies when he is being serious. Why do they ignore the women who have a soft spot for him (pudding, viola, osome)? She is a foodie, he is a cook, thats very logical. This fandom overthink everything.
Nami attacking York out of anger on Robin's behalf and then Zoro trying to hold her back gave such family vibes. So great to have them all together again man
I love how alarmed Doberman was at Saturn's words, considering that up until this point, Doberman has been by far the most cold-blooded Marine we've seen with the possible exception of Akainu himself.
Doberman wasn't shown to be as bad as Onigumo, so definitely not the most cold of the Marine officers below Admiral. He _was_ shown to be a firm believer in Absolute Justice which makes him more harsh and colder than seemingly several other Vice Admirals that we've gotten to see a bit of personality from like Momonga, Yamakaji, Strawberry, Stainless, Bastille, T Bone (RIP), Doll, and obviously characters like Tsuru, Smoker and Garp though.
@@CitroChannel Oh yeah you're right. I got it mixed up in my head that Doberman was the one who shot a subordinate for asking a simple question, but that was indeed Onigumo. Still tho :p
I believe it makes sense for Bonney to act a bit weird. She not only went through a lot recently trying to save her father and discovering her father is now basically dead, and vowing to kill an important person to her that was basically her cool uncle, she also had all of Kuma's memories infused into her, extremely raw memories of someone who lives more than her. Receiving that many first person memories, with feelings embedded in them will affect anyone a lot. She is basically Bonney + Kuma in life experience now, she experienced enough of Kuma to think and act exactly like him. Some of him will brush off on her after things settle down on her mind. One of Kuma's personality traits is being very stoic and calm regardless of the situation (look as S-Bear for example). I bet Bonney inherited that from him.
I think we are taking for granted that Robin stopped Luffy, as far as we know, the elders don't know Robin's voice so they could hear any woman (except York and maybe Lilith or Stussy) and assume that is Robin
And the Gorosei really don't know what Robin sounds like, they are just assuming it's he since they know she is on Luffy's crew and they really don't care about Nami.
Hell, Nami's pose/expression in the next panel is one she uses a lot after dealing with Luffy. I'm absolutely sure it was Nami who shouted at him, but the Gorosei only see Robin and are only focussed on Robin. It could have been freaking Big Mom and they probably would have still gone all "OMG ROBIN" because that's where their focus is when it comes to Strawhat + Woman + Smart. It brings up an interesting idea that outside looking in to the crew, the ones who would have the 'right' to tell the captain off would probably be the first mate (Zoro) and Robin. They're likely seen as the main 'leaders' of the crew along with the Captain. But we know that's fucking wrong. Most everyone can kick the captain, but some don't - Robin rarely does so, which would seem weird to them, but we know it works for the crew to let Nami deal the punches and Robin explain calmly. XD
@@Ryroe I think it was Robin. In Japanese, it was ルフィ ダメよ!then in the panel below, Robin's line ends with ダメよ. She's telling him not to do something in a gentle, but firm manner. Like a mother.
I think Bonnie acting weird is a red herring. If there is an impostor, it has to be Kaku, disguised by Devon. The fact that he fought 2 seraphims probably at once, would be so easy for the BB crew to take him and replace him. Also, the fact that Kaku has to ask what was Rob Lucci doing, and Lucci has to lie to him even if they worked together their entire lives. Apart from being a fighter, Lucci is also a spy. So he knows one when he sees one (unless if its Stussy coz the plot needs it to happen)
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is excellent and such a great twist too. I'm still mostly positive Bonnet is Devon, but The Lucci reaction especially gives this theory legitimacy. Real Kaku would know what he's doing there. An extension if this theory is right is that Bonneys weird personality change is a result of her being hypnotized by Laffite since he's all but definitely on Egghead too
Nah is just that Kaku was thinking of saving himself so he was fully team straw hats in that situation. Meanwhile Lucci was still worried about following the orders like the useless dog that he is
I just forget and make SO MUCH sense why is robbin the one telling luffy to shut up. I mean, they are basically in a x10 buster call situation and even tho robin had change SO MUCH, this will be FOR SURE a real PTSD situation for her.
The fact that Kizaru is starting to insert his personal opinions on the mission speaks volumes. He would just usually follow orders. I wonder what's he cookin.
If you want the protagonist's triumph to feel earned and satisfying you have to stack up villains that are worth toppling over. Saturn is giving us such a good taste of how positively inhuman the Elders are. Can't wait for them to be the 3rd or 2nd to last final boss of the series alongside Imu.
The devon imposter paranoia Is the Best part of this arc for me I cant wait for moment when she actually impersonate someone Plus lafit devil fruit reveal would be nice
Lafitte has some kinda warp teleport or stealth fruit. That is the reason he was able to join that Marine Shichibukai-Marine meeting before the Marineford War.
Three highlighted lines in this chapter ---------- 1. Borsalino: He's my friend, I can't just ignore him 2. Bonney: What a great man, skilled at cooking and strong in battle 3. Luffy: Someone very strong is coming
I think the barrier is more *physically* impenetrable. Like I could see the door door fruit working to get through it, as well, but I could be wrong 🤷🏼♂️ I also am starting to take luffy’s actions (like him yelling at the elders that he will be KOTP) as more calculated things. I know he lacks internal dialogue, but I think he always says that to whoever he perceived as his next big threat (like he did with big mom in Fishman island). I think he knows who has power and who to stand up to - he can sense when someone is an obstacle to his dream and he challenges them.
I think the reason Robin was the one who spoke up is because she has a history of being involved with shady organisations, so I imagine she's done this sort of thing in the past
Kizaru and the rest of the Navy pushing back against the Elders is also reflected in Sakazuki, who has begun questioning the Elders’ decision-making ability
The way I see it, at the end of the story the WG will have to go down or at least have such a monumental shift as to not be at all the same as it was before, including the removal of the CDs. But the Marines are already being set up as existing after this, with Coby and others like him as their future, so there needs to be a divorce between the two and it's starting now. What if the world-shaking event isn't Luffy and crew but the divorce of WG and Marines? In this one place, where thousands of Marine lives could be lost, and a stand is taken against the WG from within? That could be huge.
This just occurred to me, but if we do go to elbaf, we know Saul is on elbaf and Robin with her powers can make herself the size of a giant. I really want a scene with her giving Saul a giant size hug now.
Finally getting more Borsalino action. We haven’t seen him fight in over 500 chapters. It’s also interesting that he is 3 years older than Sakazuki “Akainu”
I'm just so glad vegapunk finally acknowledged one of frankys inventions, ive been waiting for that moment ever since franky was stranded at vegapunks old lab during the timeskip.
Everyone seems to be convinced of this but I evidently don't remember stuff (lots of breaks between chapters recently lol). Is there any evidence that someone in the group has been compromised?
@@Binge_Zone the key there would be in laffite´s devil fruit if he can phase or anything like that as he has been pictured as master infiltrator and is currently the only BB commander whose DF we don´t really know anyhting bout other than he can get wings ?!
My theory with Bonney acting uwu is that towards the end of the Kuma memory bubble, he did research on each Strawhat to pick where to send them. And in doing so, he relates to Bonney how awesome they all are, and how he’s betting it all on them. So Bonney would be all blushy for all the Strawhats, but we are just seeing her Sanji fan girl reaction first.
I'm 100% positive it's Catarina Devon in disguise, but I love this idea. He did have plenty of time to observe them on Thriller Bark before nothing happened
By process of elimination, the Blackbeard Ship that showed up to Egghead had to be Lafitte or Devon (or both) but I'm still trying to figure out how they would've made it through the barrier to get onto the Island. Van Auger is the one with the Warp fruit, but he was last seen in the fight with Law. Not sure if I buy the "Bonney is Devon disguised" theory at this point. Bonney being "weird" isn't enough of a justification for me. After learning all of Kuma's memories, it's believable that she'd be in better mood. We all know that behind the mystery Kuma is good person, so learning all his memories would show Bonney that Vegapunk didn't just maliciously experiment on her dad and give her understanding of Kuma's actions over the years. That's believably pretty relieving information to learn
I think Oda's gonna troll us. Laffitte and Devon are probably on the ship yes, simply because they haven't had their big fight since Wano yet. But I think also Shiryu and Kuzan are gonna be there. Shiryu fits the espionage theme of Laffitte and Devon, used to work for the WG so it'd be interesting to see him directly fight the WG, and imo he's currently got the ship invisible hence why no one has noticed it. Kuzan also has the obvious Marine connection, as well as the connection to Ohara which Egghead is constantly being compared to. Basically we've all assumed that the outside Egghead scenes were all concurrently happening to the scenes in Egghead. For instance Law and BB beginning to fight happened between Luffy Jinbe Bonney escaping from Kuma police robot, etc. But what if secretly the Garp/Hachinosu stuff happened weeks ago? We know that Koby was kidnapped a few weeks ago now, during Wano. We know Garp went after Koby immediately upon learning of his capture, which would have been reported on when it happened. We know Garp was on G14 base when he learned of this which we know is really close to Egghead and we know Egghead, Wano, Elbaf and Fullalead are all next to each other. It took 5 days for Luffy to get from Wano to Egghead, but it takes Garp several weeks to get from G14 to Hachinosu even though both distances are comparable, and Oda has provided us the clues to figure that out? I think it's way more logical that Garp arrived at Hachinosu just days after Koby was captured, and this was the thing Robin read about in the newspaper in 1060 where she said there are other things relating to people Luffy knows but he hold her not to tell him. It was Garp being "missing in action". Which makes sense as before this they literally planned to turn the ship around over the fact Vivi was also "missing".
Don't forget that there's a Blackbeard ship somewhere near Egghead (if not even already arrived) and the only crew not accounted for would be Katarina Devon who has the ability to transform into *anyone* So I think that the new arc mystery is "who is an actual fake?" a la Among Us.
Also don't forget the other captain not shown fighting Garp or Law. Laffite is a master infiltrator and hypnotist. He got into a room in Mariejoua with Doflamingo, Sengoku, and Mihawk without being noticed by their observation haki
@@TheMrEpiphany To be fair, that doesn't mean anything. Unless Lafitte gave off a murderous intent his haki would not have been shown being any different from the thousands of marines working there. Lafitte could be weak AF, we don't know anything more about him than being a hypnotist, so he is at the moment Jango level.
Will there be a day when you do a video on One Piece speeches? Top 10 or something. There are many good lines throughout the series, especially from Doflamingo.
Day 4 asking Merphy to read Slam Dunk. It’s by Inoue Takehiko (Vagabond). On the surface it’s about basketball but it’s really about personal growth. It’s full of amazing characters like in Vagbond and it’s got lots of great humour
In terms of narrative, the Straw Hats should win in this arc even though there is gonna be some sort of failure or consequence. I think it is time to flex and show their capabilities as a Yonko crew. There are still gonna be some failures or consequence, of course we all need some drama before we leave Egghead arc We all know that this Egghead arc is a parallel to Sabaody arc. But they are supposed to lose in that arc because they have no match against the Pacifista and Kizaru. They are not strong enough to defeat the Pacifista. This time on Egghead arc, it's gonna be different and also it's a rematch again against an admiral they face before which is Kizaru Remember what Lucci said after he got defeated by Luffy like he don't see or view Straw Hat Luffy as an Emperor. There is still a disrespect, people still think that the Straw Hats are not that strong. But now it is going to change because the Straw Hats are gonna flex their strength especially Luffy. I don't think they don't need to defeat Kizaru, they just need to show their strength. I also feel like that Kizaru is not gonna go all out, it depends on the situation but i think when we get that confrontation between the Straw Hats and Kizaru, and Kizaru realizes that this is not the same crew anymore i saw at Sabaody. Kizaru will be surprise on how far the Straw hats have come since Sabaody arc, the very first defeat for the Straw Hats The point of the Straw Hats losing in this arc doesn't make sense because what is the point of Shanks going after One Piece after he saw Luffy doing insane things in Wano arc? Shanks finally recognizes Luffy as a great pirate and soon they will meet. And finally, we are going to Elbaf, this is very hype
Every time Blackbeard or his crew are planning something, they tend to wait till the last second to act. When everyone is already tired or when everything has already gone wrong. If they do show up, I think it would be as a last second third party. But I’m also fully expecting Dragon to somehow be involved at Egghead. We started the arc with Shaka, the Vegapunk that died before uploading his conversation with Dragon to Punk Records, talking to Dragon. Telling him his life is being threatened. Then we see Kuma, Vegapunk’s creation, malfunctioning. It only makes sense for that plot line to come full circle in some way. We still don’t know the purpose of Oda showing us Kuma going to the Red Line. Plus we know that Blackbeard attacked Dragon’s base in the past. Maybe there is some drama to be had between those two groups. I think at the end of this Caribou will be the one to save the day. Egghead has to explode and if it follows suit with both Kid and Law losing, maybe it looks like Luffy also loses. Maybe egghead explodes, Caribou sucks everyone into his body and takes them all to whoever his benefactor is. And it might be Dragon for all we know. In the cover story Caribou was mistaken for someone that looks like Che Guevara, a revolutionary. Maybe Dragon also mistook him for the revolutionary and he joined Dragon.
I really like the idea that Catarina Devon is impersonating Bonnie right now, we know what she saw Kuma go through was traumatic there's no way she should be ok right now
I'm pretty sure that Lucci knows how uncaring his command his, and they're meant to be expendable, even though he is valuable. He knows hes a dog and is a pawn for a bigger purpose and his life doesnt mean that much in the bigger picture.
@nikgokuhil I think Lucci did something to gain the Elders' trust back. They told their best agent to die to stop a devils fruit from awakening. They're dogs of the Elders and are pawns who will be sacrificed for the greater good.
It’s been a while since Tekking that I’ve seen someone so excited about a One Piece chapter that they’re stumbling over their own words. Salut, Mme. Napier.
I suspect it’s really Catarina Devon disguised as Bonnie. For me, it was the look she had in that panel when headin to the sunny - it felt sinister. Plus the sudden shift of attitude was strange too considerin what I’d assume would be a dark, tragic past Bonnie saw Kuma went through. I’m pretty excited to see the role the Blackbeard pirates will play on egghead. Plus Kizaru vs the straw hats is gonna be a really big fight! Idk how that’s gonna go down! I think Kizaru will definitely use his power at a fuller extent compared to from what we’ve seen from em so far. It’s gonna be wild!
i think the thing with Bonney is just renewed resolve. she was a MESS when we got to Egghead, but now she has seen something that has broken her down but given her something to hold close to her heart. i think she is just finally accepting the situation she's in and rolling with the crew she has found in the Straw Hats. just taking everything one step at a time. after all, we have seen her be a very cunning and crafty girl in the past, it makes sense (TO ME) to have her be adept at processing and switching gears quickly. the Trickster trope just doesnt make sense if she can't move forward from something
The teleport guy Auger was last seen with Teach fighting Law, the only ones remaining are Devon(Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune) and Lafitte (some angel wings fruit)
I don’t think it is a coincidence that Captain Kuro is on the cover page and the chapter is called Kizaru. In other words Captain Kuro is the son of Admiral Kizaru.
The Vice Admiral unnerved by Saturn's words is Doberman. He's a staunch supporter of Akiunu and participated in the Ohara Buster Call, including the sinking of the civilian ships. Even that guy took issue with Saturn's position.
I love how much someone is invested in OP from their thumbnails cause Merphy looking for her next fix or something lmao 🤣 also Sanji got another princess who loves his cooking and fighting good on you Bonney plus we're going to Elbaf I'm so freaking happy and really hoping Franky shines during the escape plan
I just think Kizaru landed on egghead island, he didn't enter the lab dome. But I dig the teleportation idea especially since when luffy, jibe and Bonney met Vegapunk for the first time, he was talking about space distortion
The one who correct luffy is Nami i think, but the gorosei they dont know her and dont know robins voice. I think is to point out they still want to capture robin
Occams Razor, Lafitte got them in and Devon captured and assumed Bonney’s form. She was gone for awhile so no one would’ve noticed, shes acting so weird even Luffy notices, huge jump from where we last saw her emotionally, the two BB pirates here have to be Lafitte and Devon by process of elimination, and Devon is known to target beautiful women
10:08 I believe that after experiencing Kuma's memories THAT I WANT TO SEE MYSELF, ODA, GIVE ME THAT DAMN FLASHBACK ALREADY!, she realized it was his own plan to have his memories erased, that through that bubble he can recover his memories and become himself again, tying it into my own theory (about Kuma's wife and Connie's daughter Annie having died because of the World Government) Kuma's reasoning for doing it, and everything else Oda needs to show us soon or I will die, she balled her eyes out all night, and now, thanks to that newly found understanding, and the relief of having cried it all out, she actually does feel better, and she is not gunning for VP anymore because now she knows he actually was helping Kuma
I don't think Bonnie is acting weird, I think whatever he saw on Kuma's memories made her have some sort of realization, which is why he decided not to kill Vegapunk anymore.
I think the elders heard a female voice and assume it was Robin, but it was probably still Nami who actually spoke? At least that's what I assumed, because Robin tends to be really chill when telling Luffy he probably shouldn't do/say something.
I think Oda's gonna troll us. Laffitte and Devon are probably on the ship yes, simply because they haven't had their big fight since Wano yet. But I think also Shiryu and Kuzan are gonna be there. So looking forward to Luffy facing Kizaru, just to see how he measures up to the Admirals as well as the payback for Saobody. Also, add me to the camp that Bonney is just feeling better because of what she learned in her father's memories.
I wonder why everyone thinks the WG got Boa's lineage factor when she was a slave. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have never seen any evidence that the WG knows Boa used to be a slave. It's her closest guarded secret. Why does everyone (theorists on UA-cam) seem to think this is common knowledge?
If the get her LF sometime AFTER she fell in love with Luffy, like her visit to Impel Down or during Marineford, then it is less that her love is genetic and more that love a person feels at the time of the LF extraction is passed on as well.
I'm pretty sure it was Nami whose voice they heard telling Luffy off over the den den mushi. They ASSUMED it was Robin just because it was a woman's voice they heard. They don't know for sure - they just have Robin on the brain. It's against character for Robin to yell at Luffy like that, but as you noted - very in Nami's character to do so and she's standing right there next to him with her patented "Luffy, you're an idiot. Why are you my captain?" expression in the next panel. The one she gets after correcting his behaviour sometimes. I've got money on it being Nami's voice we'll hear when the anime comes around. XD
Maybe this is something everyone has been thinking already but it just occurred to me the first time. Bonney absorbed some of Kuma's memories, but it might not have been everything. What if some of those memories could go to S-Bear? I've always though that Kuma would never be able to come back, but this would be a kind of "resurrection" that I think might work.
1) Technically Rob Lucci isn't betraying or being a rat, he is doing his job. Although I still think it is a possibility that he might actually be feeding bad intel on purpose to the WG and Marines, I think it is relevant how he questioned why they were sent on a mission to assassin Dr. Vegapunk. I would love to explore the theme of how in Elbaf Mother Carmel trafficked children like presumably Rob Lucci to sell them to the WG and turn them into CP Agents. I don't want a redemption arc for Lucci, but I would like to explore a bit that plot line. 2)I want to see the gag of Boa seeing S-Snake with Luffy and somehow believe that S-Snake is their child as a result of their love and that now she is married lol. The whole S-Snake stuff of having some free will even if it's limited is very relevant for the story as a whole and as you mentioned it get us back to how the Egghead arc started with Lilith telling us that their creations show some uncontrollable will of their own. We also might get the reveal of Crocodile's embarrasing past through his (or her?) Seraphim, that will be fun. Very good point you had with S-Bear, Seraphims are truly gonna be interesting now that we know for sure that they are not going to be boring robot-like beings. 3) I think it would be too obvious and lame for current Bonnie to actually be Devon. If the BB pirates have actually infiltrated during the time jump instead of just passing by the island, this new mystery plot has more possibilities than the previous one with the Vegapunk satellites as there are more potential suspects. You could argue that Robin or Kaku could be Devon as they could look beaten up to get sympathy points, or maybe Lucci was staring at Stussy not because he was pissed on how he got betrayed but because he suspects her. 4) WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET THAT TRAGIC KUMA BACKSTORY ODA!? 5) Btw check out Yonta Maria's flag, do you think it may foreshadow that the Grand Fleet or at least Orlumbus (who provides the numbers in the SH Grand Fleet) is gonna make an appearence and maybe be that great incident foreshadowed at the end of Dressrosa?
A woman cuts Luffy off, the Gorosei assume that woman is Robin and next panel, Robin is talking to Luffy. That page suggests it was Robin that cut him off, but the last 1000+ chapters suggest it was Nami. Robin seldom has those shouted bubbles where that's half of Nami's dialogue with Luffy. The Gorosei assumes it was Robin is because she's the only one really on their radar and Robin calmly explains why Nami cut off the call because she's on the same wavelength. It's really inconsequential who exactly cut off the call, but it was Nami.
I don't think anything weird is happening with Bonnie, she just is out on the other side of dealing with Kuma's memories and is showing interest in a guy that can cook and is strong and cool.
Bonney's change is fine. She saw something that made her cry, but not like..angry sad cry, more like "ok, I understand why now" cry, and that weight is now lifted off of her.
What's with the whole Devon suspicion going on. Bonney just saw her fathers traumatic past, the great man that it created, and got answers to all her questions. She finally had closure, then spent the night crying her eyes out to process her emotions. She won't be completely over it, but this is extremely healthy for her. I also suspect that in his wisdom, Kuma knew his beloved daughter would ignore all warnings and somehow find his accumulated memories and decided to leave a secret message just for her.
I'm not sure about Bonney. I don't agree that women have no interest in Sanji. Pudding and Viola liked him and changed sides because of his kindness and Bonney might just be glad he's a good cook, plus the memories she saw changed her mood. Either way I don't find it that hard to believe. Ofc it's still possible something is up.
1 S-Hawk I think will attack those naval ships as he was the Marine Hunter in his youth and destroy most or the entire fleet 2 Kuma's flashback will be its own arc like the flashback arc with Sabo Ace & Luffy 3 Borsalino will use refraction to create clones of himself or evil versions of the Straw-Hats
Technically the impenetrable area of Egghead has not been breached yet. Sumo-guy is on the lower level which isn't walled off, and that's where Kizaru ended up. So there hasn't been evidence of someone getting through yet.
I don't think Luffy knows that the story is that he kidnapped Vegapunk? When he says "we have Dr. Vegapunk" Luffy is just stating a fact I think. Which does make it funnier to me
What if this gag of Luffy answering the den den mushi with that phrase is actually foreshadowing that Vivi will make him have an interview with Morgans and after this line Morgans will ask the obvious: why, the motivation for this desire of becoming the pirate king and Luffy will reveal his actual dream in the most unexpected and nonchalant way possible
I assume someone has already pointed this out but I feel like you misunderstood most of the last part of the chapter the place no one can get into is where the Strawhats are, not where Sentomaru is. Same thing happened to CP-O when they first arrived until York shut off the shield long enough for Kaku, Lucci and Stussy to get in. Kizaru can cross the forcefield because of his light powers but he's not going to do it just yet out of respect to Sentomaru (warriors pride and all that), and the elder is probably ok with this slight disobedience because he knows that as long as the shield remains up the Strawhats are going nowhere, and knows that Sentomaru is probably not strong enough to hold his own against an admiral for more than two minutes.
Makes sense for the seraphim to have a personality. Haki is manifesting a will as power, can't really do that if you don't have a personality. Oh imagine Luffy punching a celestial dragon elder. That would ramp up the story even more.
What if Catarina Devon takes the form of everyone's favorite swamp person, Caribou, and they do the whole "which is the real one" gag? But, obviously, they knock both of them out.
i really like the panel where nami hits york when she talks about ohara and the way robin looks at her, they really feel like sisters and i think it's just cute
And zoro holding nami back was funny as well 😂
I definitely didn't get "sisters" from that scene hahaha
@@Shinntoku I did. Also the fact that she had to be held back was funny
@@Shinntokuhowever you take it it shows how close they are
Does no one use periods anymore? Why must everything be one, needlessly long sentence?
I like how maternal Robin was when explaining things to Luffy.
"Information is a weapon. Don't give your enemies weapons."
It was sweet.
Im pretty sure saturn just somewhat respects kizaru
No, you don't get it, Luffy is not talking to the most powerful beings in the world, they are talking to the Future Pirate king, they fear him not the other way around.
I saw the first part of this comment and expected a cringe "no you don't understand" *pushes glasses up and snorts* but actually based.
Except Kizaru is pushing the whole crew himself without any fear and is making Luffy sweat bullets just from sensing him
@@BIGBIRD110He isn't. He has barely done anything. It's the barricade that has caused trouble so far. I'm not saying Kizaru will not be trouble, but he has not pushed the crew at all. He has barely done anything 🙄
Luffy sensed him and just said someone strong is around.
No reason for him to be looking like that just from sensing a single man
@NineSixSix 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Again, he isn't pushing the crew.
The fact that kizaru is here because he’s chasing the bag is kinda wild, he sees this as his 9-5, big business Borsalino is out here

Shout out to Sentoumaru, that panel he saying "Bring it on, unc!" and his confrontation with Kizaru is awesome
Oh yes it is
I do like the idea of Kaku regretting his life choices.
Agreed
So many people are missing this point lol.
Hello, I'm here from two weeks in the future when 1091 is released. You are correct.
Last time Luffy met Kizaru, he lost all his crew and was sent flying away in despair by Kuma. I wonder how he will fare up against Kizaru now that he has defeated Kaido.
He should win but Oda won't make it that simple
They definitely have to have a word or two to exchange, but Luffy has an escape plan to lead so I believe this will be more like the Jimbe VS Big Mom clash on the sunny.
"Ehhh... Seems like I can't take them all at once anymore... and I can't leave sight of Saturn's ship... how embarrassing, ehhhh....
Luffy has a 90% chance of winning. Luffy is already 100x faster than Light. But idk how Oda will play this. Better not be some bullshit tho
@@hiddentraveler2597 Ahh yes, Luffy is faster than light, sure.
(With Gear 5 involved, who knows? But... no.)
Giving Kizaru credit for the things Kuma did
The whole Bonney thing makes me wonder why people are so quick to assume Devon when we've literally seen people go through the most heartbreaking stuff and come out the other side stronger, more confident, and less sad people.
I think it because massive change in character attitude usually are shown on screen so whatever happened to Bonney must be important
Also if it was katarina how does she know about it Bonnie wanting to kill vegapunk but r act like Bonney with her food obsession
Im leaning on Robin or Stussy as Catarina
@@Ash_Howl hopefully study because I don’t like the strawhats getting captured because there a yonko crew and I like to think there strong enough not to get captured

Love your reviews, as always! One thing though: Sanji has def been getting positive attention from the ladies ever since the TS. Mermaids, Viola, Pudding, the line of his soba fans, and the lady he saved in Onigashima.
I think Bonney definitely just likes a guy who is willing to cook and cater to her. XD
Always looked at the dog themed vice admirals as akainu’s lackey’s seeing one of them pausing is interesting
I bet Bonney inherited that from him.
great explanation
I love your analysis, it shows that you came from books and have a really deep knowledge of literature
I think we are taking for granted that Robin stopped Luffy, as far as we know, the elders don't know Robin's voice so they could hear any woman (except York and maybe Lilith or Stussy) and assume that is Robin
It's a total Nami speech bubble.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
this is excellent and such a great twist too.
It's a great time to see a Merphy fan as well. I love you commenting one piece. You make this amazing series even better
The devon imposter paranoia
Is the Best part of this arc for me
I cant wait for moment when she actually impersonate someone
Plus lafit devil fruit reveal would be nice
He is definitely the pigeon on Lucci shoulder
@@locopsychodude best theory. In fact it's the goat of the theories
Lafitte has some kinda warp teleport or stealth fruit. That is the reason he was able to join that Marine Shichibukai-Marine meeting before the Marineford War.
Bonney praising Sanji is the only proof we need that it's her
Nami was harrasing York while Zoro tried to stop her .... man, thas an OG east blue vibe o reverse 😂❤
Maybe Bonney is acting different because what she saw in her dad's memories finally gave her peace of mind?
Three highlighted lines in this chapter
----------
1. Borsalino: He's my friend, I can't just ignore him
2. Bonney: What a great man, skilled at cooking and strong in battle
16:49 This is the excitement i thrive on when coming to watch people talk about OP. Can’t wait for the reviews on the Live Action and more.
Luffy might be letting Bonny work her stuff out on her own because she’s a captain of her own ship and crew, and he’s just respecting her authority.
Didn't we hear that Fujitora betrayed the Marine/Marijoa during the Reverie to help the slaves?
@@foultarnished3134 Yes we did hear about that. Hope he is ok. I really love that old man
The way I see it, at the end of the story the WG will have to go down or at least have such a monumental shift as to not be at all the same as it was before, including the removal of the CDs.
I really want a scene with her giving Saul a giant size hug now.
omg, my heart wouldn't be able to handle that!
Oda did not show what exactly happened because he did not want to tell the reader who Katarina Devon is (or who is being hypnotized by Lafitte).
It was actually a clever device set up by Oda offscreening other powerful figures now saying luffy is strong enough to now just be offscreened
Everyone seems to be convinced of this but I evidently don't remember stuff (lots of breaks between chapters recently lol). Is there any evidence that someone in the group has been compromised?
How would they get to the labo sphere? To clone or hypnotize anyone???
@@kendlerkendler2667 nope, no evidence, just (very) thin hints if anything
Cool theory bro, i like that
I'm 100% positive it's Catarina Devon in disguise, but I love this idea. He did have plenty of time to observe them on Thriller Bark before nothing happened
i believe only the upper dome where the brain is, is locked with the barrier, kizaru jumped inside the lower part where there is no barrier
Don't forget that there's a Blackbeard ship somewhere near Egghead (if not even already arrived) and the only crew not accounted for would be Katarina Devon who has the ability to transform into *anyone*
So I think that the new arc mystery is "who is an actual fake?" a la Among Us.
Very excited for a live action. Yeah 1090 was too good. Best time for all One Piece fans.
There are still gonna be some failures or consequence, of course we all need some drama before we leave Egghead arc
We all know that this Egghead arc is a parallel to Sabaody arc. But they are supposed to lose in that arc because they have no match against the Pacifista and Kizaru. They are not strong enough to defeat the Pacifista. This time on Egghead arc, it's gonna be different and also it's a rematch again against an admiral they face before which is Kizaru
Remember what Lucci said after he got defeated by Luffy like he don't see or view Straw Hat Luffy as an Emperor. Kizaru will be surprise on how far the Straw hats have come since Sabaody arc, the very first defeat for the Straw Hats
The point of the Straw Hats losing in this arc doesn't make sense because what is the point of Shanks going after One Piece after he saw Luffy doing insane things in Wano arc?
I really like the idea that Catarina Devon is impersonating Bonnie right now, we know what she saw Kuma go through was traumatic there's no way she should be ok right now
9:58 Murphy's getting jealous 😅
I'm pretty sure that Lucci knows how uncaring his command his, and they're meant to be expendable, even though he is valuable.
He knows hes a dog and is a pawn for a bigger purpose and his life doesnt mean that much in the bigger picture.
I really thought that he would've started looking after himself and his people first after how CP9 were hunted
@nikgokuhil I think Lucci did something to gain the Elders' trust back. They told their best agent to die to stop a devils fruit from awakening. They're dogs of the Elders and are pawns who will be sacrificed for the greater good.
@@TheAthens619 Yeah, I wonder about their backstory too, still really thought that their ex-CP9 core crew at least would look out for themselves more
It’s been a while since Tekking that I’ve seen someone so excited about a One Piece chapter that they’re stumbling over their own words. Salut, Mme.
It’s gonna be wild!
i think the thing with Bonney is just renewed resolve. she was a MESS when we got to Egghead, but now she has seen something that has broken her down but given her something to hold close to her heart. i think she is just finally accepting the situation she's in and rolling with the crew she has found in the Straw Hats. just taking everything one step at a time.
after all, we have seen her be a very cunning and crafty girl in the past, it makes sense (TO ME) to have her be adept at processing and switching gears quickly. the Trickster trope just doesnt make sense if she can't move forward from something
merphs break piece reviews are amazing

In other words Captain Kuro is the son

it is unbelievable , how much hancock love luffy to write on her dna .
The Vice Admiral unnerved by Saturn's words is Doberman. He's a staunch supporter of Akiunu and participated in the Ohara Buster Call, including the sinking of the civilian ships.

Wait, Kizaru hasn’t gotten through the dome yet, Sentomaru is on the ground level, outside of the dome.
I just think Kizaru landed on egghead island, he didn't enter the lab dome. But I dig the teleportation idea especially since when luffy, jibe and Bonney met Vegapunk for the first time, he was talking about space distortion
Seeing those seraphims is so cool, especially S-Mihawk and S-Hancock 🤣💖🖤
The one who correct luffy is Nami i think, but the gorosei they dont know her and dont know robins voice. I think is to point out they still want to capture robin
Finally Seeing Borsalino in action it’s been over 500 chapters since we’ve seen him fight. He’s also 58years old. 3 years older than Sakazuki “Akainu”
May your head never explode from excessive reading 🥂
I don't think Bonnie is acting weird, I think whatever he saw on Kuma's memories made her have some sort of realization, which is why he decided not to kill Vegapunk anymore.
I think the elders heard a female voice and assume it was Robin, but it was probably still Nami who actually spoke? At least that's what I assumed, because Robin tends to be really chill when telling Luffy he probably shouldn't do/say something.
personally, that line cutting the call off sounds like Nami's. The elders heard a woman's voice and assumed it was Robin's
Who knows
@@t.c.thompson2359That's what I thought
If they did it after she fell for him it makes more sense
Kizaru didn't get through the Frontier Dome. He's on the lower level where Sentomaru is.
Unless I'm reading it wrong.
XD
15:23 Vice-Admiral Doberman
A simple rule for Luffy: Luffy doesn't know when you're lying to him, but he knows when you're lying to yourself.
KIzaru mentioninh his friend defending Was about Being Honorable and meeting Sentomaru in Battle instead of bypassing him.
I've seen this said before, One Piece weekly chapters are better than some other manga's final arc/ending chapters. So hype!
The elders are indeed very cool. It would be so easy for them to be overshadowed by imu but they still have their own sense of intrigued and menace.
Can't wait to see luffy and kizaru staring down face to face .
The Monkey Battle we finally getting it !
4:51 he did say the top priority was punk records, York and the apparatus so Lucci isn’t worth nothing to them just he’s not irreplaceable
1 S-Hawk I think will attack those naval ships as he was the Marine Hunter in his youth and destroy most or the entire fleet
2 Kuma's flashback will be its own arc like the flashback arc with Sabo Ace & Luffy
3 Borsalino will use refraction to create clones of himself or evil versions of the Straw-Hats
Remember when Luffy and law first were making an alliance on punk hazard, Robin was the main one to warn Luffy about getting betrayed
Which does make it funnier to me
Haven't heard anybody use that sound at 09:53 to show interest in a person in forever. Probably because they'd get sued these days.
My interpretation of Luffy saying that Bonney is weird is him thinking she wants to take Sanji away from him
I assume someone has already pointed this out but I feel like you misunderstood most of the last part of the chapter the place no one can get into is where the Strawhats are, not where Sentomaru is.
Merph: SANJI NEEDS TO REMAIN MAIDENLESS
What if Catarina Devon takes the form of everyone's favorite swamp person, Caribou, and they do the whole "which is the real one" gag? But, obviously, they knock both of them out.
My Boy Sanji is getting justice for his greatness
