UPDATE/DISCLAIMER ~ I wore this most of the afternoon and a second wearing into the evening and the second wear the citrus stayed for about an hour before it faded and it didn’t soften close to the skin until about an hour and a half. The drydown is mostly this Smokey oak moss with patchouli (kinda like hacivat drydown which is why I don’t think I love the drydown). It stays at the same potency (intimate) until about 7 hours so not to bad. I’m going to continue to wear this and I would definitely recommend to try this for yourself before you buy especially if you like that hacivat style oakmoss. The entire fragrance is a like for me not a love but the opening hour is amazing
I blind bought a bottle of ysl lhomme cologne bleue which arrived today and man it smells fantastic but man it disappears pretty quickly. Sounds like you are experiencing the same type of thing.
Got this in the mail today. I love it. The opening was fantastic. Two hours later it was a skin scent but I'm not mad. It's going to make a great spring/summer fragrance. Is it a safe blind buy? I would say it is. It's not too expensive and again, the opening is fantastic.
@@josebarajasjr7211 see I agree it’s a safe blind buy but not at the retail price knowing that boss bottled pacific was $53 two months later. That’s why I don’t recommend a blind buy right now
What up Randy! Man, I was going to pull the trigger on getting this one in from some shady site I'd never heard of.... I'm SOOO glad I didn't after seeing this review. After the roll Boss has been on, this is kind of disappointing!
What’s the shady site? Makeup store.com? If so it’s legit just takes 2 weeks to ship. But I do love the opening so I hope it matures and the drydown pops more down the road
Dam I got to try this one out. Loving swy house can't wait to try parfum and sandalwood. Doesn't make any sense how boss can make their winter fragrance a beast but not their freshie. I get it man
@ yea I’ll still try it I was just hoping the performance would be decent at least. I really liked pacific just with that the performance wasn’t too good but decent on my skin
Hey Randy Doud. Been a bit, was part of the philly plane crash investigation team. I'll definitely get this bottle and also grab Pacific from a year ago or so. " Let's get it " Was wearing Boss Bottled Night for a few days.
So just an fyi it’s a bright citrus but only for the first minute or two then it becomes more of a green tart less bright citrus for the remainder of the time the citrus is noticeable
@ ya I agree and normally I’m with u but the lightness of this one stands out or should I say doesn’t in comparison to other light scents. I love the opening 30 min or so but when it dries it’s like a completely different fragrance
@@eseir64 so the opening is very nice and it’s just not working on my skin in the drydown. I do see this being a cheaper discounter for sure but it still has some appeal but I’d still try it out if u can
Such a pity, I was hoping for great things with this release. It does seem that Hugo Boss are significantly better at cold weather fragrances. I'm starting to eye up fresher scents with Spring around the corner. My first citrus scent of the year, Acqua di Parma Mandarino di Sicilia, arrived today, and it's gorgeous.
@@sandymcconnell1969 it may still be one u wanna try. The opening is fantastic it’s the light as air drydown that loses the citrus that just reminds me of how marine dried down not in scent but where it was an amazing opening and generic drydown
@FragranceDOUD Thanks, Randy. I'll still sample it and see how it lasts on my skin. Try and get your nose on the Acqua di Parma - I'm super impressed. Nishane Nefs also arrived today - the hype is real! Hopefully catch you on Monday's livestream.
@TheNoviceKnows Wow! I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think. I think it's their best release in the past few years. It still retains some of the old school dna, but has been expertly modernised.
Whats up randy, gotta say we are a little apart on this one re the dry down. I think its got more heft than you seem to have experienced here. You do sound like you have a cold though 😅. I wore it today before my review tomorrow and it was very noticeable for a very long time and could even smell it after my shower. Honestly bro im not joking here and this is why ive gone out of my way to mention it. Also the citrus is noticeable for a very long time to me too. Anyway , all that aside great review as always brother
@@TheFragLad that’s interesting how it’s working for u and I wish I could blame it on a cold but I def don’t have one. Cause when my daughter got home from school and wife shortly after I had both of them smell it on me and both said they couldn’t smell it and it was about 2 hours after the 9 sprays. They said they could smell it but only if they dug their noses in. I ended up repeating the sprays afterwards on my right hand and then again on my left an hour later my wife said she can smell a small hint of citrus at the hour mark but at 2 hours gone. For my daughter and I it’s legit a completely different very generic smelling almost motor oil like smell to the point where she said that the opening and the drydown weren’t even the same fragrance. But both times all 3 of us had to dig our noses into it after an hour of wear both on my wife’s skin and my own. So I went to my buddy’s house tonight who is big into fragrances and he couldn’t smell it either but on his skin it worked a bit better but still said the drydown had no citrus after about an hour or so. I’m still gonna wear it all week to see how it works but as of now I love the first hour I think the rest is super generic
@FragranceDOUD wow dude that's so different to how I've experienced it today. Had a full wear , sprayed once on my hand. Loved it so did the obligatory 2 each side of the neck, 3 on the back and 2 on each elbow crease. 5 hours later it was still very noticeable to me in a sort of patchouli heavy yet oakmoss absent hacivat esque dry down with the citrus still there when going back in for a sniff. I took a shower then I could still smell the stuff on my hand that got the first spray. I'm not totally in love with the fragrance but I like it a heck of a lot. I guess the recent boss bottled releases got me too excited for this one but me having a completely different experience to 4 people is wild. Anyway as I said already , great review, keep up the great work bro and love to you and the family from the uk 🇬🇧
@ oooo oak moss ya that’s it. Now that u say hacivat a button clicked in my brain. I hate hacivat always have and on me that’s what the part I said “I don’t know what it is” is the damn oak moss. It’s a feint hacivat with patchouli. But I mean ya hours later I can still smell it but only if I put my arm up to my nose. Ur completely right tho with the hacivat similarity. But I do have to say this group of people has always all disliked oak moss so that also might be why we all love the opening but not the drydown. I can totally see others liking this I just don’t see many going out of their way to spend a ton for it or to pull it over other spring fragrances. But hey that’s what fragcomm is all about the difference in likes and dislikes and skin chemistry
@FragranceDOUD I feel you on that point bro and you're more than likely right. I must say if I wasn't trying to build my little channel I wouldn't have pulled put the stops to blind buy it this quickly and would have sampled first.
