She’s so loving and sweet. I know she gets frustrated but imagine how we would act. When we don’t see things like her. You guys are so amazing with her. I love to watch her how much she really knows and she plays it off that she doesn’t know what you guys are saying.
Me too and he’s not even old!! He might be tired, and I get that. I feel like he knows his family, retired, but do anything for everyone in this family.
I just recently started working in a classroom with children with autism. I have so many questions that I would love to ask you so I can help get a better understanding about autism. Your such an amazing person and your love for your entire family shows through your channel! I really hope I can hear from you when you have a free moment!
I think she wanted you to touch her head instead of doing it herself 😂 Also whilst she is more than capable of learning to eat pizza by folding it she wouldn’t choose to eat it like that as she loves the sensory aspect of touching it too much. I still pull some things apart before eating them to but that’s more a texture mixing issue for me when eating rather than wanting to play with it.
Agreed - I am not strict on where my kids eat - its not like when I grew up - sit round a table ( eat or dont eat ). I'd rather they be comfortable and eat their dinner ( or play whilst they eat).
I know this might sound crazy, but I was watching a TikTok video about maybe a parent or a foster parent. I can’t remember exactly but she never asked are you full, she said something else, that really stuck with me. But I can’t remember what she said. Basically she doesn’t want her kids to eat till they are stuffed. Does that make sense?
I love what you was saying about teaching her new things, with starting out with the things she already knows. That's brilliant 👏🏼 I'm going to try this. Also I wanted to say, I'm doing a deep dive with my son Julius on his sleep cycles and high sensory days being affected by the moon cycle! I mentioned to his O.T about how a week or so he gets really off (hyper distracted ect.) And then I realize he will then be on this level of focus and calmness just more capable of retaining new skills. And his O.T mentioned to follow the moon cycles and just see. This has only been about 4 days since I spoke with her about this, but I remembered you saying something as well. I will keep you updated on my findings. Just for the heck of it, b.c I find it very interesting 🤔 😉
Hi! Love you guys! I cannot believe how much older she looks from just a year ago!!!!!! Can you guys do some videos on how to calm her down when she gets all worked up…. Really having a hard time with my own kiddo when I ask him to do something and he immediately gets overwhelmed and starts freaking out and talking really fast and repeating things…. Not really finding a great way to help him through that because part of it is him not wanting to do what I asked him to do….. his special Ed teachers don’t really see that side of him because he always does what they ask….of course!…lol love you guys!
Abby`s minds set is on a younger setting and so what you do for her I do for my younger grandchildren because it's easier for them and me, for now. You have taughtme alot on how to do things with them . And they are quotes "normal" children, please that not saying anything bad about Abby. I think if she could get out what she really has inside her mind , she would shine. Maybe and yes my grandchildren will do it on their own, but with sweet Abby it's nice to do these thing for her, and like I said it helps you. I think you said " Don't set your children up to fail" . This is a way of not setting Abby up to fail . I see you do it in alot of things for Abby and I like that.
I used to think that eating the crust first was weird also. But I find that if I eat the crust first, then I'll eat the crust and get to my favorite part of the pizza for last. Otherwise, I rarely eat the crust because it's not my favorite at all.
Hello there! I remember when you got your wind chimes but I can not remember where it came from. The large one, please let me know where you got that? MY FAMILY NEEDS ONE IN OUR LIVES 😂. My daughter and I love you guys!
Can u please tell me the make and model of your big Windchimes I can’t find it and stores I don’t want to get the exact sounds online if you could please help me I absolutely love that sounds thank you
Hey! Awesome vlog I love your content. I feel a part of your family when I watch which means a lot coming from a place where I feel I don't belong. I was wondering do you use a filter when editing? It looks awesome regardless. Thanks for your vulnerability and sharing daily. You all are the best
My grandfather, bless his heart, used to use a knife and fork to cut his bacon with . He was such a proper English man. We just all thought it was funny when we were kids.
7:35 I take offense to that! Crust first isn't weird, it's saving the best for last! 🤣🤣😉😉 To me folding a slice of pizza is weird 🤣🤣 Also, microwaved pizza? It gets so soggy that way. Best way is to reheat it in the oven (or toaster oven, if you have one)
FatheringAutism Although I am subscribed and have notifications set for all, I haven’t been getting notifications for weeks. Daheck YT? Just thought you should know.
Love watching your videos !🙂 I really like Abbie's outfit! I like how you explain things and give examples in your videos. It so awesome to see Abbie , so happy when she goes for ride and when she see's her Grandmother!
I’m pretty new. Can I ask why there are channels dedicated to harping on the way you all parent? Saying it’s exploitation etc? In one sense I agree that children cannot give informed consent. They just cannot. As a parent, I always keep that in mind. I also know as a parent, that I e Internet is a dangerous place to have your children exposed (or exploring). But your channel is a teaching/learning channel. And it offers a glimpse into a world of parenting that many people don’t have any experience with or insight about … what are your worries, if any, about having your daughter on SM - making that choice for her? Do you worry about predators? Do you worry about sharing too much personal information about her without her consent? Do you feel the benefits outweigh any of those potential risks? I’m very very genuinely asking how you and your wife decided to create this channel. How you gauge what is a comfortable and appropriate (for you) level of information to share? has it changed over the years you’ve done ‘Fathering Autism’ ? Have you seen changes in your audience or your feedback or society at large and how they do or do not understand lives of special needs parenting? Since I’m so new I don’t know if your son was a large part of the channel prior to him moving out to go to college? I found your channel after he was already moved out and in school. So what was that like when both kinds were home and younger? You’ve got a tremendous following so I’m sure 95 percent of your feedback is positive. What do you make of that other X percent which has issues? What do you make of the YT channels which make videos attacking your channel (and in turn, your family). And I mean - at a deeper level. Not just blowing it off as hateful (which easily and understandably could be done). I’m genuinely trying to figure out if any of their concerns have validity. And I’m wondering about your perspective on some of the pitfalls of putting a vulnerable young adult out so prominently on social media. Do you and your wife see benefits for your daughter as a result of your whole social media channels:off-shoots/videos/content etc. Aside from the financial benefits which at your size of engagement; must be substantial. And that is a true blessing - and would be for any family - allowing for more time to be spent at home and slowing you to stay home with your kiddos when they’re young and have more flexibility as they grow older. It also helps you set aside money for your daughter’s current and future care. I KNOW that fears about how our children will be taken care of and that they will have the resources with which to do it, is exceedingly important, legitimate and shared by all of us. So, the security of being able to grow that fund is an obvious ‘benefit’ … but I’m speaking of things aside from the material/financial. Have you seen changes in your kids? Changes in your daughter that you attribute to the channel and all that has come with it? Anything you can think of that contributes to you guys making that decision over and over, to keep going and keep expanding and branching out? I would LOVE to hear what it has felt like to be on your side of this channel … on your side of its explosive popularity… on your side of the negativity you encounter … and more importantly, the amount of support and sense of community you must also feel and receive on a daily basis. All of it. Maybe someday you’d have time to talk about all of this in a video? I know there’s no quick answer to any of these questions within questions. Thank you for your time. Thank you for all you do to show the world that all our children are unique gifts to this world. ☮️
Sos Asa the whole time you were talking about mimicking I was thinking, give her the pizza it’s getting cold! Lol Abbie was so patient, I wasn’t lol Wuv u (in a purely platonic subscriber not awkward kind of way……)
i have been watching for years but other than the kitchen / living room the layout of your house always seems to confuse me 😂 i can never keep the rooms straight. time for a new house tour now that you’re a few years in.
Hi Asa...I have been MIA from your channel. Ive missed you all. Just been so busy caring for my Mom with Alzheimer's. I have been catching up on your video's and I have to say , you were always amazing at your editing skills but now...you are even more amazing!...Love your family!

Grandma Donna is so sweet. Like sugar cookies and big hugs, such a joy 💖💖💖
Now this makes me tear up. The love between a grandmother and her grandbabies. She looked at her in awe and warmth. She loves her grandma.
Love how Abbie locked the truck door right after you closed it ❤️ safety first. 🤙🏻
I thought the same exact thing 😂
I love those wind chimes sounds when you was outside.
She is so gorgeous with Grandma. Grandparents are special

She’s so loving and sweet. I know she gets frustrated but imagine how we would act. When we don’t see things like her. You guys are so amazing with her. I love to watch her how much she really knows and she plays it off that she doesn’t know what you guys are saying.

RV's are so cool. Grandpa said Abbie likes grandma more. Awe. Don't be sad 😊
Idk why, but I’m obsessed with the “old man” (maverick). I love him so much😩😩
Me too and he’s not even old!! He might be tired, and I get that. I feel like he knows his family, retired, but do anything for everyone in this family.
Fresh cheese on left over pizza is a very dad thing to do😂😂😂

I am in catch up mode and boy I tell ya this is exactly what I needed tonight! 💜💚💜
Asa, use the pizza cutter to cut it into pieces!
Hey Ms. Donna. You are looking fabulous! Pops, you too my guy!
I think she wanted you to touch her head instead of doing it herself 😂
Also whilst she is more than capable of learning to eat pizza by folding it she wouldn’t choose to eat it like that as she loves the sensory aspect of touching it too much. I still pull some things apart before eating them to but that’s more a texture mixing issue for me when eating rather than wanting to play with it.
I loved her look at you., she was clearly saying, “what for? This is baby stuff”. Almost an eye roll!
How sweet is Abbie smile

Totally get the microwave talks, tangent and all!
Looks like you guys had fun.
We use kitchen scissors with great success to cut pizza into bite size pieces. Quick and easy.
My grandfather, bless his heart, used to use a knife and fork to cut his bacon with . He was such a proper English man. We just all thought it was funny when we were kids.
Love y'all
