After 40 years, and a long Hiatus Games Workshop is Bringing back TALISMAN with a new 5th edition! Talisman is a Fantasy Questing style Board Game, and will be produced by Avalon Hill. While its not my first choice for games to come back from GW, its definitely Nostalgic, and likely Games Workshop is tapping in on this, with hopes to break out in the board game market. things are starting to get very interesting, with GW licensing the IP like crazy over the last few years!

The 1995 edition was my favourite, the Wayne England art style was on full display, minimum of 1 skull on every tile, the miniatures were undeniable Warhammer

Given how well Avalon Hill did with reviving HeroQuest I had to preorder Talisman way back when other places opened up ordering. The aesthetic of the figures seems to match their HeroQuest figures so I get the feeling fans will be making home brew character cards to expand hero selection in both games.

Talisman is fun I have the Relic version only down side of the end is almost always anti climatic.

The more old Games/Miniatures they release, the clearer it becomes that they intentionally only produce limited Amounts in order to make their set seem more valuable

If you all that, then I’d say just keep it. No need to upgrade :) I don’t have 4e and it’s super expensive, so 5e is great as someone who’s been wanting to play Talisman

this is a horrible game. roll a die, move randomly and engage a random encounter, and then sit for ages doing nothing until it is your turn again. Repeat for at least 5 hours until someone finally wins. Sure, nostalgia can be fun and if that is what you seek this will provide lots of it, but let's be honest no way the game design is elegant or gameplay smooth. It is an outdated slog from the years before yesteryear...
