This song has one of my favourite lines of all time: “It’s hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead”. My mantra for life. If life throws you shit you can sit there and grumble about it or you can try to find a solution/make the best of it.

Wacken 2013 was not only my first Nightwish concert, it was also the best Nightwish concert ever. Last Ride of the Day was the last song there and this version was also something very special. So it's no wonder that I will always prefer the Wacken version. However, I absolutely enjoyed your reaction to my favorite band. 👏👍👍🤘🤘

Ok Im almost 60 yrs old,...few yrs back a much younger friend goes check this out man...was Wacken version of this song but then followed it with Poet and Ghost Love...I was excuse the pun...floored...Was like who the hell are these people and that goddess...been down the rabbit hole ever since...thanks Gabriel leading the way...best band ever imo and best female singer ever

Has anyone told her about how cheeky Emppu is yet?? I still get a giggle from him calling her Stonehenge during her gall bladder issue. I think I enjoy the dynamic almost more than the music. It feels good to be surrounded/blasted by that kinda good vibe from a band and it shows overall for both audience and band.

They are working and or finishing their next album and found out they are not going to tour after it. She's got a new baby on the way and I think they are taking a over due break. Fingers crossed on when they will be out again! If you're a fan, patients is a virtue!🌹
If you love hear Marko singing, then you should definitely check out "The Islander" (Live at Tempere) and "While Your Lips Are Still Red" (Live at Wembley Arena). They're both ballads, so they're on the slower side, but they're beautiful and well worth the listen, especially for Marko's voice!

Hello Ash. Nightwish Army Phoenix here for you. As good as the Wacken 2013 performance of this was, this may be my favorite. My wife, Carol, and I got to travel from Phoenix to see them live last year on May 18, 2022 at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. Spectacular show from start to finish. I hope you do get a chance to see them live. Loved your reaction. Keep the live Nightwish reactions with Floor coming.

It's always a pleasure to see you and especially to react to Nightwish . I've always been a heavy metal fan, and part of my life of extreme music, but since listening to Nightwish mainly with the talented Floor, it was love at first sight, and now I can't stop listening.
I have the Wacken album and every time this song plays it gives me chills no matter how much I listen to it. One of the very few songs that puts me in tears from how freaking great it is

So excited - with a tinge of sadness - that I will be catching the last show before their extended break in Oslo, Norway on june 22nd. Will be my 3rd time seeing them with Floor (and my 2nd since Marko left 🥲)! I really do hope you get the chance to experience them live and in the flesh one day!
Had a friend with really really bad heartburn. Turns out his gallbladder had stones in it. So doctors removed his gallbladder and heartburn was completely gone.

Shoutout to you for watching this version and not the Wacken 2013 version. I love that show, but sometimes it feels like that's all that people react to from the Floor era. Regarding the feeling that Nightwish gives you, I had the best feeling ever at a Nightwish concert. They were playing "The Islander" and some stranger put their arm around my shoulder and we were all swaying with the music, smiling and singing along. It was a _great_ feeling of fellowship and I hated for the song to end. I had to go to that concert alone, but once the music started, I didn't feel alone.
Also, has anyone recommended a band called Tarot to you? If not, they're Marko's first band. Tarot toured with Nightwish in the late 90s before Marko joined. When Sami was kicked out of Nightwish, Tuomas and rest knew where to go. A similar thing happened when they needed a singer and got Floor; Floor's first band, After Forever, had toured with Nightwish in the early 2000s. Anyway, circling back to Tarot, I think their biggest hit was "Wings of Darkness." There's a video from 1986 with the band performing that song, and Marko is nearly unrecognizable. I agree that the Wacken 2013 was legendary and all the songs had something extra which made them stand out.
If you haven't seen Wacken version yet of this song please do you will hear and see the difference.
You said that right, Wacken 2013 is legendary as a whole concert. However, I think this performance of this particular song is better then the Wacken performance. But that's only my opinion, it's a matter of taste. A similar thing goes for "I Want My Tears Back", also played at Wacken, but the best version to me has been played in Buenos Aires in 2018. My guess is that Floor in 2013 was relatively new to the band and was still finding out what works or not. When she felt more at home in 2015 and surely in 2018, she could let go more easily, and the other bandmembers picked that up too.

To see them (again) is going to be a long wait. Next album (2024) wil have NO tour. There was a lot going on their personal lives (cancer, pregnancy, father passing, personal projects) and also because of the pandemic there is quite some material just waiting. So if we're lucky they will be back on the road in 2025-2026.

If you want a suggestion for something to react to I was watching At The Drive In - Arcarsenal (Live @ Big Day Out '01) yet again after I watched this and thought "this is something Slashley would dig". One of the best live performances I've ever seen. 17 out of 10 for pure energy. I haven't seen anyone react to this, which is a travesty. I guess it's quite old now (like me) but it's still awesome (...). Post-hardcore punk or something like that. I've never been good with genres. I just like music.
