The slide show was amazing.
I just noticed that you have removed the leash from your moose.. It amazes me that someone obviously didnt like it.. oh well !
Agree sooo beautiful especially with the music. Renee you should've made your own postcards with those snapshots.
Please go to the next auction. It doesn't matter whether you buy anything. It's great just getting to see the accumulation of years of collecting. It was so interesting to see the house. I can imagine seeing it in Country Living magazine (cleaned up, of course). Really enjoyed the auction snapshots. Thanks for the great video.
Go to the next auction !! The entertainment is free, and the education is priceless and maybe you'll get lucky.
as I get older, I see that worldly stuff is just junk, maybe pretty, maybe special, but its temporary, items sifted through people depending on luck, price and money. Your smile and happy attitude is worth thousands of dollars.
So true ❤️
Happy attitude?
ohhh that bear on the chair in the rain I wanted to take him home but I'm sure I couldn't have afforded him. Loved the snapshots at the end. BTW I really love reading the comments of your viewers.
I do too. Fun to see what people write lol
Best part was all your photos , now I know how u see things in your eyes, beautiful
loved the slide show, you should consider doing that more often
Thank you for the photo collage. You have a fabulous eye. Just amazing ....the auction, the home and the photos.
Thank you so much!
Great job! You really are a true artist of life! Positive and unique individual! One of the best you tube channels I have subscribed to!
You're a young woman with an old soul (that's a compliment). I hope you find a home like that one day that you can make yours. We found ours in Parkesburg PA (old stone home 1723 vintage) and it killed us when we were forced to relocate. Stay strong, you'll get there.
A 1723 home, be still my heart!
Beautiful slide show and music.
Wow! For just the chance to be inside that beautiful house, the auction was worth it! I loved the still shots you included. I don’t know why, but they made me emotional. I started thinking about who the owner of the house might have been and the stories behind those objects. PLEASE tell me you’re going to go back for the upstairs’ and other building’s auctions!! Love, love, love when you take us along to these auctions.
The slideshow was beautiful!
Thank you! I figured it was a nice way to showcase some of my favorite items at the auction.
Hello Renee,
That looks like it was an great estate auction filled to the brim with old time antiques. Those type of sales are becoming a lot more rare in just the past 15 years I've been attending auctions and some of the stuff shown is genuinely harder to find, unless you want to wait months, years for another to come up which could explain the prices. I am a collector and started as a teenager going to auctions with my parents and grandfather. It was always so amazing see and be able to handle all of the treasures you couldn't afford. I got to examine a rare coin that sold later in the sale for over $200K.
There are indeed some collectors that attend auctions with bottomless pocketbooks, I know of two older gentlemen in my area who were the heirs of a prominent local 19th century industrialist and they have a warehouse full of their collections. Good luck outbidding them. I'd say estate auctions are likely 60/40 dealers to collectors. Sometimes you can find deals, sometimes you can't. There are successful antique dealers I know that do very well at estate auctions, but they always say they can't buy what they personally like or want, they have to focus on items or lots of items that have a good value and are otherwise overlooked in order to leave enough meat on the bone for resale. I bet there was some hidden treasures in there that sold well under retail levels.
The pandemic has greatly impacted the antiques and collectables business. Prices are up considerably, that is just a fact. People are bored of been cooped up and are looking to buy items to make themselves feel better. Many of my antique dealer friends can't buy for resale right now, perhaps elevated prices will end after the pandemic levels off or perhaps we are seeing a new normal.
I do have a modest collection of Rookwood Pottery and cannot believe that the auctioneers left all of those pieces in that box lot like that. Somebody careless could have easily damaged them and greatly decreased the value. That pair of owl bookends were really nice and usually sell for very good money if in pristine condition. You tell the date of manufacture of RP by looking at the roman numerals, if there are none then that means it is a really early piece and you can date it by the number of flames in the mark.
Don't get discouraged. This is how estate auctions work, not all of them are good for buying. I as a collector get disappointed regularly too when I get blown away on items I really like. In those times you have to be grateful for the items you do have in your collection and perhaps next week you will make a great find and will be forgotten.
Thanks for your channel! I collect art pottery, postcards, advertising, among other things.
Joe
I loved, loved, loved this video! The house, everything in it, the slideshow, just great Renee. Thanks!
The box of Steiff was crazy....
the big money might not bother with a second day so go again just in case. Perhaps you can sell photos you take of the collections in the boxes there. You have an eye for it.
You may not have been able to purchase anything, but you have a unique talent for taking a trip to an unsuccessful auction and turning it into a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Enjoyed your video!! Sorry you didn't get anything at the auction but the good news is Buzz1151 finally completed the restoration of your old radio!!! Will you be showing it in one of your videos?
Just reading the comments, soooo many of us really appreciate the beautiful work that you do Renee preserving the past in your videography with your charming outlook and way of interacting with the world around you, especially in this year 2020. You are like an ambassador from PA to the rest of the country!!! Thank you.
I don’t cry easily.....but omg....the still photos and music of the old teddy bears and art supplies ....makes me wish I had known this woman who had collected these older things....an appreciation of expression and reflection of life
Love the photos and the music you used near the end. Great photo skills. My mother had watched you for a long time and I am just starting. You are a pleasure to watch.
This home was gorgeous and her taste was Amazing ! At one time …. She gave that home so much .
This was an incredible and glorious video with the inserted snapshots. Those snapshots were literally views of history, views which are now seldom seen. The old fireplace with all the cooking utinsels was incredible to see, like seeing a fireplace at Williamsburg. I was going to lead off with Renee, the investigator from UNCLE, keeping the theme of buying an Uncle.
WOW. I didn't realize you could still find such wonderful old antiques.
This house was one of the "untouched" homes that are still out there. And to think, they still have a second floor full of treasures!
House was Beautiful it was an experience see when their garbage day is
Very smart~ I sure want to know when their trash day is =)
I loved the photos you took at the end along with the music. What amazing things. You don't see things like that everyday. Thanks for sharing😊
The pics were beautiful you have an artistic eye.
Wow, the shots you took would make great cards. So retro/eclectic. Great photography Xx
I so enjoyed the slideshow, thank you. The house was stunning! I loved everything about it. The fireplace in kitchen with the pair of wing backs, the millwork, the lamp over the sink. No modern "stuff". Reminds me of my grandparents' house that was built in 1819, frozen in time.
Definitely frozen in time! I wish I could have seen the upstairs!
What an amazing home and collection of antiques. I loved the slide show. Thanks for sharing this auction with us. I wish you had been able to get one of the Christmas lots.
The slide show was amazing! I REALLY enjoyed that!! You have a gift for photography!!
Paper and Moose is a part of my daily routine. As well as Taco Stacks and The Old Curiosity Shop!!! My three favorites! Thank you for all your efforts - much appreciated ❤️
Thank you for the video. Everything was amazing. I loved loved loved the old baskets 🧺
I love how you did the still shots. Very nice.
I don't think you lost anything by not buying, but gained the consolidation of your already
strong knowledge of items and their worth, which you share with us on each video. Also remember that at an auction like that some of the bidders will be museums filling gaps in their collections. Loved the images you put together for us - glimpses of the items of the day, especially the old fireplace and its implements. Thank you, and stay safe.
Loved the slideshow with the music, very artistic!
Thing is, you WILL find a house like that miss, to do a cleanout etc~ especially if you're willing to travel a bit. They're out there, & if you set about to do such a thing, you certainly will. I used to think otherwise, yet now, @54 yrs old & many a road traveled & a desire had, I've experienced so many events that I simply set out to have. It's awesome, and I can see you doing just that.
*Beautifully done w/the slide show btw~ such an eye you have =) -Samantha in NM
Thank you for the kind comment Samantha! I'm always up for traveling, that is never an issue. Just have to will it into existence! I see you are from New Mexico... I've wanted to travel to Santa Fe since I was 13 years old. Hopefully one day I will get out there!
If you come to New Mexico please come and visit me. 😊 I love your channel and would love to meet you. We live in NW New Mexico. Outside of Aztec. 😊Your auctions are amazing!
I worked at a Florist & Gifts, in the 60’s, we got a shipment of small Christmas toys. We sold Wreaths of all kinds. Shipment had some Broken toys, Rocking horse, damage Stuffed Bears, Dolls etc. Too Late & Pointless to return. We created a “Wreath of Christmas Past” with the the Broken Christmas Toys... $125 - $200. We ran out of broken toys and had to brake toys to put on more Wreaths. Attached an Vintage-looking Christmas Card. Slide Show & Music well done 👍🏽 💛💜💚💙🧡❤️♥️
What a great idea! When I thrift, I often come across really cute small toys and ornaments that are broken, but I feel so bad leaving them behind because I know nobody will purchase them. Well now I know what I can make with them. Thanks for the great inspiration!
That is an awesome idea. Renee should do that....she could find all the pieces at the fleamarket. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕💜💕💜💕🇩🇰
Thankful you’re going again, it sure was fun to watch!
Seeing the departed ones treasures that probably was well loved being bought by non- family has me in tears. Maybe they will be well loved again. The home was beautiful. Loved the fireplace.
Try to remember that these "treasures" are still just "things" and that the departed have no memory of them because they were just for our pleasure while we occupied these earthly bodys.instead "lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Wisdom to live by.
cannot
@@lorigreenberg4797 Scientifically we really don't know if the departed ones have memories or whether they can see or not. I just don't like to see their precious belongings disregarded like yesterday's trash. You would hope to think some relatives would claim them. It just breaks my heart to think no one cares. Also, what you're saying has very nice sentiment.
Some days it just doesn't happen. As Taco Stacks often says, 'It is what it is'.
Auctions like that help drive the prices up on some of the stuff you have. Win for you!
That was incredible Renee and so moving. Thank you for the wonderful slide show too. Xx
I do not think it was a loss. You got to admire all the treasures
I've been to those kind of auctions before and yes, it's a learning experience. It's almost like time travel. Seeing things that belonged to the family and how they lived and loved can take your breath away. Those old-time auctions are so hard to find anymore. I drooled over the Christmas items with you. I LOVE it! Thanks for the trip.
Rene, those photos were incredible. I think some of them would be awesome on your wall or mounted to sell at the flea market.
Great video Renée, really enjoyed the combination of video/still photography! Unbelievable how expensive things were selling for. Well believable since auctions/sales are few and far in-between and the fact that there were some amazing things there! Sorry you didn't win any bids, but maybe since they are having a part 2 to the auction, people will think it's leftovers and not come prepared thus giving you an opportunity to get something. Did you happen to see how much the wonderful child portrait sold for? Thanks for taking us to the auction with you oh have you found anymore bags from either of your trash bag homes?
You have an amazing eye for photos! Blessings and Peace ❤️✝️
Thank you!
How exciting. Crazy prices!!!!! Loved that fireplace! They don't have those kind of homes in Minnesota!!!! Sorry you weren't able to get anything but thank you so much for taking us along again! Loved the slideshow!
Renee......absolutely loved the still shots. Thank you for doing this for us!!!!
When auctions become spectator sports, haha! Ah, well, can't spend what you don't have, I've found. And yes, the "slide show" was a nice touch.
I used to go to auctions with some friends of mine and always loved them. I really thought you did a great job on the photos you took. Simply awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Wow I want all those boxes under the plastic😍😍😍 how fun! What a trip back in history 😍😍😍
Honestly Renee your UA-cam needs to go viral, you share such great content
Now thats she is posting more and doing more with taco stacks she will get known. I wonder if she quit her day job yet becasue that would help her work on youtube and listings full time and source awesome content
Your photos are beautiful and should be available for sale. Your composition exceptional. Make your own greeting cards. Wow.
That house is like a historical time piece. The items must have been amazing to see too, thanks for the excursion.
I can only imagine what it must have been like for the auction company, being able to be the "first" in there after so many years!
@@PaperandMoose the auction house was very happy, im sure. Go back, as some of the people making bids might have their fill. Do many people leave before the last bids? Also, what happens if someone doesn t take their item, if they changed their mind?
Your photos were beautiful and sad at the same time. The stories these items could tell......
Being an antique dealer myself you have very good taste and antiques and right on the ball of the good items
What an antique, auction. I love the old, old stuff!!! As time goes on, these types of items are becoming, more & more harder to find. That's part of the prices being so high. * It saddens me when, you see the life time of collecting, being sold off. It looked like this owner had been older & had collected for years. What a neat stach of items! Yes, it was a very neat old house. The history of the folks who lived there in the past & the present, would be interesting. When you were going through the old photos, I was thinking & wondering if they were family & them when they were younger? Thanks for taking me to the auction. And Renne, you do great slide shows, I enjoy them.
I love watching your videos. The slideshow you put together was amazing.
So many things that will be gone and forgotten . Even the house and the land were fabulous .
Yes, definitely to the slide show. It's like mentally "collecting" stuff and not having to worry about where you're going to put it.
Janice.. that’s a really ideal way to put it . I get the pleasure to see such interesting, odd memorable treasures and keep them in my “mental notebook”👍💖. What fun that auction was.. thanks for the videos and look forward to more.
Loved the slideshow and the auction. Amazing stuff! Yes, go back, if nothing else, for your own photos and slide show!
Thanks for bringing us with you. I loved the slide show. I'll go on a virtual trip with you to auctions, flea markets, yard sales, trash picking, etc.
I get to live vicariously through a few UA-camrs, you being one.
Thanks Renee
Looking forward to your next video. 😀
I did, as always, enjoy the video. I also enjoyed the slideshow at the end. You’re a very good photographer. Ever consider taking up photography? You seem to have a very good eye for it.
Even though you didn't buy anything, this was a terrific video. I loved the style of it, Great job!
Thanks!
Another big Thank You!!
Wonderful slideshow. At least you got to see the beautiful house and items. Like you said as a reseller it just couldn’t be done. Stay safe and God Bless
Everything was amazing. Loved that house! My kind of home. I want to Thank You sooo much for the pictures at the end so wonderful of you to do that. That bear just tore my heart out. Hugs and blessings. OHIO
That house! Full of history and treasures. The prices went up so so fast. Great video.
Thank you for bringing us along, beautiful old house and awesome stuff ! I loved the slide show you put up , have a wonderful day 😊
I was hoping you'd have gotten something. Nice slide show. Best of fortune on the next one! 🐻
That’s an amazing fireplace. Great items. That’s my kind of place.
Auctions like this can be frustrating when you're looking for product to resell, but I still love going and handling these relics and thinking of all the history. Great vid.
I had to look again at the photos, please continue to show them!!! I enjoy them. Thank you for sharing!💗
Thank you Judy!
Oh my how wonderful this auction was! With the connection of PA and Germany you can see the influence of so many beautiful pieces like the Steiff toys and Christmas ornaments! Love them!
The former owner had great taste!
@@PaperandMoose For sure! I thought the very same thing:)
Oh Renee, I LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS. I hoped you would get the bear that was in the rain.
I love this sort of auction
Lovely, thank you. Please go to the next one. Your pictures touched me.
Thanks so much for the auction pictures. It was an incredible house! Keep sharing, we really appreciate the glimpses into that side of the picking life. Yes prices were crazy! But so fun to see.
I loved the home and antiques. I would love to live their. Thanks for showing us the pictures that tell a story.
I loved the slide show, beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
Just wow, so many antiques!
It’s all about location and who shows up. Clearly the auction company advertised well, knowing what they had. Lots of cool stuff though. Thanks for sharing!
I really enjoyed the pictures at the end. Auctions bring out big groups of people and a way that it is presented without much effort. It makes it hard for people that dig and put in the effort as a buyer.
Llllooovvvveeeddd the slide show. Oh cool Charlie Brown Tshirt!!
Yes amazing stuff. Old houses, interesting they might be,are still money pits. Do love auctions. Appreciate you taking us along.
I loved the slideshow! Such a nice collection of photos of items that gave a flavor of the home! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

I’m 76 reminds of all I have.
I loved the slide show! Amazing items. Thank you for sharing. 💗
