Tesla will be the one noted for getting EVs from hobby or niche vehicle to product used by the masses. What happens after the Olympics is anyone's guess.

Great presentation! Really enjoyed Rolands understated humour, ability to get straight to the interesting and salient points with clear communication; the production was excellent too. Only slight issue with this vid was the sound quality.

I have had a tour last year in Giga Berlin and it was just amazing from beginning to end. Even arriving at the factory was impressive, the building is IMMENSE. Thanks Roland and Tesla team for giving everyone a look inside!
I was surprised with the slight mention of "post processing" on the giga casts... One can only imagine how big the CNC's that drill and face the casts are!
@@SamSayaz - reports are FALSE. only MINIMAL processing is Required . however the Castings , do have small Parts for the Vehicles to be removed , like model Parts on a Spew ZERO drilling or Reworking. the Gigacast in Vehicles are so sharp , you can get cut BADDILY , so workers have to wear Chainmail gloves. .

This factory has been hidden from Tesla watchers since we have been following Giga Texas from the time it was open sand mines ! But Giga Berlin has been a mystery, so thank you for taking us with you for that guided tour.

45 seconds is the design speed of the line. The factory hasn't yet ramped up to that speed, partially because the stamping section isn't completely finished.

Sell very well in China but when I was there two months ago, they told me Chinese government does not allow them in sensitive areas due to spying concerns.

Roland's comparison with Henry Ford bringing us the production line is very apt. We already have 3d printed vehicles making their debut and now we have die cast cars. Once upon a time that used to mean matchbox cars with wobbly wheels and poor paint jobs. Now you can stamp out quality cars for a fraction of the cost. Despite the naysayers, progress just keeps on coming.

the size of the factory is NOT the reason they’re called Giga Factories… it’s because the first Giga Nevada was meant to be a factory that produces over 1GWh of battery capacity
The Tessie Y is amazing. In 1974 I bought a rusty Morris 1000. Now I own Tesla model Y and design and print 3D parts and models. Quite an era we’re living in.

Sound quality kinda difficult to manage in a die casting plant! I thought they did pretty well considering.
