As a kid I always assumed all the CoD games were canon to each other in some way until my friends had to explain that they weren't, so this is basically a childhood dream of mine coming to life after nearly a decade.

If that were the case, then I guess the pre-cod4 games, like the original call of duty, were the starting point of the og modern warfare trilogy to exist (kinda makes sense, I guess, since the military and its stuff get improved over time like in real life)

I think they gonna reboot Black Ops 2 campaign and change it to be Modern warfare because we have only 5 years to 2025. That can be game with Price, David Mason and Raul Menendez, which would be really interesting to see.

For the first 2seconds, yes. But after that I had to pause the game in order to process the stupidity whoever made this decision has... 6 years separate them from BO2. 6!!! And they still got MW2 reboot continuation to occupy even more space in a very condensed story line. I bet you, Activision made this stupid decision for profits. It's the perfect warzone marketing... And I bet you there will be another Modern warfare next year, and another black ops the year after, they just don't know when to stop. Black ops ended in Black ops 2, period.

If you get the “good ending” it says that Moscow is just as surprised as Washington and that the SU did not green light Perseus’ mission. Also in the cutscene for multiplayer the Perseus group calls out the leaders of the SU for being weak. In MW, Zakhaev perceives Russian leaders as weak and wants to take over Russia

Treyarch said "a direct sequel to the original Black Ops". Maybe this is related only to that and BO2, 3 and 4 are no longer relevant?
Yes it wouldn’t make sense why woods is in Cold War which takes place in 1981 and is a pow in bo2 in 1986, in bo2 mason hadn’t seen him since Vietnam so it makes NO sense
I believe Treyarch and IW are building a new story based on the legacy of modern warfare and black ops but this time on the same timeline, with ties only to the original Black Ops, hence the same characters in BOCW, while modern warfare is retold to fit within black ops.

A: WAW, BO1, BO2(past), MW trilogy, BO2 (future), CoD Ghosts, BO4, AW, BO3, IW
B: WAW, BO1, BOCW, MW(2019)
Reason I don’t think Bo2 is canon anymore is because it’s set in 2025 which is six years after mw 2019 and it’s just way too futuristic for that to work

One thing you forgot to mention : in MW2019, we've seen pictures of Imran Zakhaev with his arm missing dealing weapons with Al Assad in the Spec Ops (these missions are happening after the end of the campaign and before Warzone)
All Ghillied Up exists in the Black Ops/MW2019 universe.

Bo2,3 and 4 can’t be canon. Activision haven’t even confirmed the timeline he said. I think the timeline is WAW, Bo1, BoCW then MW
I was kinda hoping Cold War was gonna be a reboot too, since the characters themselves are gonna be pushing it in age with around 15 years between the games and that's more or less how long you'd expect someone's career as an elite spec ops soldier would last
@@craiglumsden2306 Well Woods was born in 1930, and Mason 1933 which pushes them into late 50's in the bo2 flashbacks. These two have been serving since the 1950's or so I believe. We also know that bo2 is a sequel to bo1 and Cold War being a sequel to bo1.

I love that BO and MW univeeses are finally connected, but if the timeline really is connected, it bugs me how GIGANTIC the leap is in terms technology between the Operation in Verdansk(2020) to BO2(2025). Maybe cold war branched off to an alternate 2020s.

Black ops Cold War kinda fits into the story because it happens in 1983 which is 3 years before Black ops 2. The Modern Warfare connection is pretty questionable so I'm not sure about that part

For more story stuff you should look at PSVita’s “Black Ops Declassified”, it gives story fro 75 to 79 and includes the death of the father of Raul Menéndez’
Declassified isn't canon. On bo2 it says Menendez's father died in 5/21/1982, when Cartel happens
And pretty soon there's gonna be a Warzone-Blackout crossover.
In the second mission piccadilly, in the cutscene where they are driving through the town, you can notice zakhaev walking down the sidewalk, the exact model from cold war’s zakhaev.
The thing that can connect the two Barkovs is on the mission going dark, one of the russians getting interrogated says "my father, my father" then Kyle Garrick makes a remark that its Barkovs family members, the Barkov in AW could be him
The future part of Bo2 is gonna be reworked

Black Ops timeline is linked to the original Modern Warfare series there is Imran Zakhaev, Burger Town and there is a picture of Kravechenko in the cutscene before the last mission of Modern Warfare 3 and in Desperate Measures mission we can see Kravechenko with Zakhaev so it might be possible he helped Zakhaev
I hope we see a game at some point where they connect campaigns with MW and Black Ops, a mission with soap, price, woods, and Mason would be dope
