I adore both versions, I couldn't ever decide if one was better than the other, because both are so different and both awesome! All hail the little pigeon!

They are different. They convey different moods.

The acoustic is dreamy and heartfelt. This version is full of pleading and despair. It’s remarkable how one set of lyrics can be given two such diametrically different sonic treatments and work perfectly either way, but that’s the genius of the Maids.

Thank you for all the times you have reacted to BAND-MAID. SAYONAKIDORI has to be Miku's heaviest song and I love it. Like you, I enjoy this version a notch or two more than the acoustic version (I love the acoustic a lot, by the way) because all the instruments kick in heavy pushing Miku's vocals to a point where we all can hear just how good she can be as a singer. (side note: I want to give Kanami a thumbs up as well - damn, she is awesome.)

sweeet i was waiting for this reaction. Quite a bit different than the acoustic version LOL. kanami is basically soloing for the last 20-25% of the song behind mikus crazy vocals.

Miku solo songs- Big Dad 2014, Beauty And The Beast 2015, Time 2017, Rock In Me 2018, Summer Drive? re-issue 2014/18, Sayonakidori 2021. Akane the Gorilla- eats bananas during shows. The acoustic versions are almost completely different arrangements for a reason- to be different for a change and because Kanami wants to.

Sayonakidori acoustic arrangement was mostly made by Miku..

I love both versions of Sayonakidori.... for different reasons. I really love how Miku "broke down" the original for the Xmas version. She did perfectly. This, the original version of Sayonakidori is my 2nd Fav song fron Unseen World..... Manners my No1, Honkai my No3. Both vesions are IMO great in their own right..... but yes, I also prefer the original over the Acoustic version. Why??? The Miku lead bridge, the spoken word just before the Miku bridge..... and Kanami's closing solo..... I love how she hits those high notes on the guitar at the end.

To me this is the best version of the song, although the acoustic is terrific. I think of this as a benchmark for the Miku/Kanami relationship. Kanami is amazing in this song and right there with her is Miku, who learned guitar from her, displaying how great she is playing and singing at the same time.
This is the one song I most wanted to hear them play when I saw them in D.C. last year. The one song that I truly would have missed had they not played it. Luckily they played it that night, and most nights on the tour.
Also, you wanted metal… probably their most metal song is Rinne (Reincarnation). Check it out… it’s awesome.

Even before hearing the acoustic version, I felt this one was just a bit too frantic. They pull it off with their great musicianship (Kanami is a total beast!), but when I heard the more relaxed acoustic style, I liked it better and felt it fit the lyrics better.
