The likelihood of anyone finding all of these Stockfish moves to secure the draw for White has to be nearly zero unless one is a super-GM.

If I could sub multiple times just to boost your algorithm I would. By far the most instructive chess youtuber in my opinion. My rating went up nearly 200 points after watching Daniel for half a year. 100/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to get better.

I always played 3...Qe7 against the Danish, engine likes it, surprisingly many Danish players don't know how to respond to it well, and I find it quite fun to play as black too as you are the one getting a strong attack AND holding on to the pawn. Was a little expectant of Danya going for this move but great video nonetheless!
Huh, yeah, opening this up...there doesn't appear to be any immediately visible good lines for white. Recapturing looks good at first but you can see that leaving it running shows the Qxe4 is an only move, but one that works fine for black. Be2 gives up the g pawn, Ne2 looks to create a state that is -0.6 which you will take, and nothing else is any better.
Interesting, though I can see why some would shy away from the queen in the center like that. If you don't play well you can easily screw up the position from here and the advantage isn't even a full piece.
I used to play this, but ultimately found it to be a more unnecessarily complicated version of the forcing 3...d5 queenless middlegame. Just feels like an improved version of the 3...d5 Morra declined. I'm about 2400-2500 online btw
Looked at Qe7 and yeah, I feel it violates a lot of opening principles and is v memorization heavy
I like playing 3...Qe7 also. It's Sam Shankland's recommendation. It's surprisingly nice to play
Main reason I never like playing Qe7 in any opening is because I don't know where would the Bishop on f8 develop ? Like do i move my queen away later and then move the Bishop. Or do I fianchetto my Bishop. I really don't know the plan. I am 1300 rapid and if anyone can explain in it would be really helpful

I've been playing the Danish gambit almost exclusively after you yourself starting going for it a few speedruns ago. It is in fact super fun to play even after you show how completely you can demolish it.
Same with Scotch Gambit. Even at 1500 a lot of players allow the checkmate on like move 8

3. ... Qe7 is another option that apparently was a Leela discovery, Stockfish has it at just about the same as taking dxc4, they change places depending on depth but are both about -0.4. It's really tough for white to face even if it does inconvenience black's bishop. It's in Sethuraman's lifetime e5 repertoire. It's pretty fun.
Very mixed feelings about this video! I play the Danish a lot if allowed to and usually win fairly quickly against players of equal or lower rating. Now they're going to know how to neutralize my beloved threats if they take the time to learn these lines! The upside is that I should probably be studying some more sound attacking openings for white and this video could be the push I need. Great content in any case 👍

Unless if you are master level, the danish is perfectly sound. I'm a 1660 and am still scared to play against it

Qb3 is played in every Danish Gambit I accept, and I accept them all.
52:17 after ...d5! by black, if white replies with Bb5+ it is important to not reply with ...c6 (most popular move by far in databases) but instead to play ...nfd7. Really important to keep the advantage as black.

I've always declined the Danish with the d5 move, not because I was scared of it, but because I thought white got to have all the fun and the best black could hope for was an endgame up a couple pawns. But this makes it look fun to play as black.

@@frankjohnson123 What are you talking about? Noone plays "refutation line" in Schallop anyway :D I mean 0.2% could count as "noone" right? KG is safe but Danish indeed is screwed as lines are easy :)
Also I'm pretty sure that Danya line will be broken at some point. There were so many "refutations" against KG and even though they may hold for a really long time they all eventually fall with some insanely narrow gimmicky path. There is no refuting this gambit - it's just making it harder and harder for white to play ;p

24:10 The queen manoeuvres reminded me of something written about by GM Matthew Sadler in his (second) book about engine chess. One concept he gives that engine's use to defend is to "create confusion with a hyperactive queen" - this line is a testament to that I think. (He also mentions how stockfish often create weaknesses in the opponent's king's position when defending).

As a (former) Danish player, I was always afraid of the Nf6 Bb4 d5 Line, because it seems to be unbeatable. Although I have seen it played once or twice, it was the reason I abandonned the Danish. Now I'm a center game guy 😅
I think the best line, as another DGambit player, is to go Ne2 and castle instead of pushing e5. That way we can just put long term pressure on the king instead of going for what is an obviously a simplification line.
I was really expecting this to be all Schlecter defense stuff, but the Copenhagen defense is interesting I suppose.

I was waiting for this video for a long time! The Danish annoyed me a lot, and worst of all, online there's not so much content to cover it in detail, i found only a handful of videos explaining some refutation, and they are like 10 min long, so for now on i'll embrace you refutation, because for now after c3 i always play 3. Qd7! and i saw that you didn't cover this line at all in this video, and it's the engine refutation for the Danish, basically it's a way to always (almost) keep and extra pawn going to a fast queenless endgame, so what do you think about that line? It doesn't punish the Danish enough in your opinion?
