Smexy, it's been fun watching your progress on this even though I haven't played Gmod in quite a while. Is there any possibility that you could create a slider that changes the size of the particles so you could attempt to get a smoother sim?
I saw something similar in a different engine but it had a trail behind the particles as well as water foam, is it possible to add those things to gwater2 so it would look like water even more?
If you could somehow make this adhere to walls a bit so it can "smear" on vertical surfaces I think you might actually have made one of the best in-engine fluid sims I've ever seen. Even if you can't, it's still very close, this is absolutely wild. Imagine the blood/gore mod potential.
finally, we can summon the ink demon in the mod of garry. (in all seriousness, this mod is amazing. i suggest releasing a beta on the git to see if you can get some feedback.)
1. my coding skill has improved and I wasnt happy with how gwater1 came out (I mean jeez it looks literally nothing like water) 2. Yes cloth is planned and in theory will look better than gwater1
@@Meetric1 good to hear. btw man your work is best. keep it up. can't wait for what else you create. and yes it is true about how gwater1 looks. gwater2 will be a banger. (kids that have gmod and see those blender gmod videos will be fascinated with the gwater2)
wow, now the water has reflection, and you know what this reminds me of? Portal 2 Gel. Maybe add a feature off by default where if water is in small piles, then maybe let it dry up, to save performance and add some realism.
To be "Water", this thing needs in different options than "sphere". One the ground OR touch anything (even another sphere) = sphere mode. In the air AND not touch anything = steam mode. Something like... Make sphere bigger and less visible, like real water in the air.
@@Meetric1 How do you make blobs merge only when they are near eachother tho? At first i thought you're rendering white glow sprites on a black texture, and then you discard the pixels whose brightness is less than 0.7 for example, but then the result will be that sprites will merge together as long as they are close in screenspace, even though they could be very far apart in worldspace.. sorry for long question but got inspired to remake this this in javascript lol

During blurring you have a depth value which is tested upon and compared against. if the difference is too big, you just dont blur that pixel
