I was intrigued by the look of this camera for some time before I had an opportunity to purchase one. By the way, in the side-by-side comparisons, i called the Rolleiflex SLX the "Rolleiflex SL66."
I had been thinking of comparing it to the SL66, and it was apparently still sort of stuck in my brain. About 12 years ago, a shop had the Mamiya RZ 67. That camera was a real handful!
I have several Exakta 35mm cameras and love them all. The build quality is superb and they are beautiful cameras. But I had no idea the company made medium format! This 66 might muscle out my Rolleiflex. Have you put a roll through it and compared it to other med.form. cameras?
I shot with the camera one time, and the photos were OK. However, it was at a period when I had to move three times within two years, so I wasn't really focused on photography. This fall, I hope to have more time and plan to run another roll through it.

Calling a SLX a SL66 is unforgiveable! Next you'll be telling me a Mamiya RB and Mamiya RZ are the same camera! I'm poking fun here, of course.

Great review. Interesting, thanks.
Maybe the side tripod socket was intented for a handle attachment?
