    Beautiful and realistic perennial garden. I like perennials on my zone 6b balcony too, or plants I can overwinter in the staircase. This year I have 2 new plants, delphinium and asclepias curassavica, I hope I will be able to overwinter asclepias. The acer will recover and the acers have the beauty and decorative power of flowers.

      Thank you for saying that 🫶! I think annuals are attractive at first, but when you've been gardening for many years, you'd rather invest in something that will survive the winter and come back every year! That's so true about Japanese Maples, looking forward to their Fall colour. Asclepias are beautiful, I hope they will survive for you, fingers crossed 🤞

    Howdy beautiful garden lady! 👋Your enchanting garden is beautiful. It is holding up to all the weather is throwing at it. You have super healthy plants!👍
    I hate mosquitoes. I had to dress head to toe earlier this year...I didn't even try to garden in my shady front yard.🙄
    I think you do a great job with color. The leaves that are variegated, different shades of green, purples, etc. I know your garnet acer will bounce back in your very able hands. 😃
    Your garden is lovely and it is a real garden weather in pots, in house or the earth. Thanks for the tour.😃💕

      Hello dear! Aww thank you for your compliments, you're too kind! So sorry to hear that you also struggle with mosquitoes! These creatures take away the desire for gardening 😕 I will definitely be implementing some changes next year but I'm happy to hear that you like it already the way it is now 💚🫶 Have a great week!

      @@17m2garden I notice you don't point out your willow tree during your tour. I take it that it doesn't bring you much joy.

      @@valoriegriego5212 Haha you have a keen eye! It was dormant when I bought it at a plant fair and I thought I bought a Dogwood ( Cornus )😅 which would be better suited for my part shade. The willow tree is struggling cause it prefers sunny locations, needs a lot of moisture and grows vigorously. I love it but I feel sad seeing it struggle.

      That's awesome to hear, thank you 🤗! I think that's a great idea! Though I don't have many plants that require regular pruning... but will keep it in mind and see what I can come up with 😊

    Oh sorry to hear about the mosquitos. We had similar weather , but no hail. I hear you with all your perennial plants, wiser I guess too. It is still looking colourful your balcony 😍. We had lots of spider mite and many snails in the garden. It was a bit frustrating with so many snails. Anyway, I'm happy , learning by trail and error. We have an established garden with water features , so I do not have so much space , an urban garden. Gardening is fun. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I've learnt a lot from you. Greetings from Vienna Austria.🌼🌸🌺🌸😊

      Hi! Thank you so much! Yes it's a bit of a strange time of the year most of my perennials bloom early summer, I think I'll add a few late summer flowering ones next season! Ugh snails and slugs are so bothersome! Have you tried baiting them with some natural methods like citrus peels or beer traps? Your garden sounds like a beautiful place 😍! Glad you enjoy my videos 🫶

    Hi and thank you for the video, I love your monthly tours ❤❤, because I get many ideas on what to do in my balcony, although I have very different weather conditions, it faces north but as I mention before the heat, dry air and lack of rain in summer are challenging. Right now Iam testing some heat tolerant species 😊. Greetings from Madrid!

    • @17m2garden
      @17m2garden  Рік тому

      Hi! I hear you! Heat and shade are such a difficult combo! Many of my flowering plants just stop blooming at this time of year because of the heat, and I imagine in Madrid it's even worse🌡️! I think I'll be planting lots of Begonias next year they seem to be the only ones resistant to various weather and sunlight conditions. Let me know if any of your trials are successful I'm curious 😃! Have a nice weekend!

    Your garden is doing much better than mine. I’m in Texas and have a corner balcony that faces west and north. The railing is concrete, so it is an oven out there. My thermometer stops at 120F, and the needle has gone past that a lot these past few weeks. I made the mistake of leaving candles out and they’ve all melted. 😂 It’s my first year in this apartment, so I’m learning what will and won’t survive out here. Of course the volunteer weeds are doing great!

      Oh wow I'm so sorry to hear that, that sounds very intense! The first few years are always the hardest, but over time you'll find some plants that work for you ☺️🤞! It might be worth looking into rock garden plants, they are often drought tolerant and many have special adaptations to withstand the heat.

    I'm thrilled your Japanese maple made it! Could you share your perennials that bloom with the seasons? Maybe you already did so I'm going to go through your videos. As a new balcony gardener in Germany, I've struggled with the weather changes affecting my plants :c My garden also lacks colors so next year, I'm going to get some geraniums and petunias that bloom throughout summer. I got one each this year to see if I can keep them alive and I'm happy to report that they are thriving!

      Hi! I do have videos like "What Flowers can you plant on your balcony in Autumn" and a couple of videos showing frost hardy plants that look beautiful in winter, perhaps you will find them interesting! But I really like your idea, I'll try to make more videos like this 🤗 This is a very clever thing to do, to test one plant at a time, I'm happy for you that it went well 👏!

      Bonjour! Oui, j'ai publié récemment un post sur ma chaîne expliquant pourquoi je ne mets plus de sous-titres français sur mes vidéos...Mais! Si vous cliquez sur les options > sous-titres > traduire automatiquement, vous aurez une traduction automatique de google, ce n'est pas toujours précis mais j'espère que cela aide 💚

    Do you have coleus ?

    • @17m2garden
      @17m2garden  Рік тому

      Yes! I used to grow them from seeds every single year, but this year I grew a bit tired of them. Though I have two plants that I'm training as topiaries (3:44 visible behind my Japanese Maple) and also discovered a lot of self seeded seedlings in my pots from my last year's plants 🌿😃

      Bonjour, je ne mets plus de traductions françaises sur mes vidéos. J'en ai expliqué la raison dans mon dernier post sur UA-cam. Mais vous pouvez cliquer sur les options de la vidéo - > sous-titres -> traduire automatiquement -> français. Ça va être moins précis mais j'espère que ça aide un peu.
