Have one question about Gentoo. What if i didn't update system a long time ago. More than one year. Can I update the system gradually through archived versions? For example, like Arch Linux, they have had a daily archive of binary programs since 2006. Does the gentu have a similar mechanism for gradually updating the entire system by day or month?

How did you get X to start so quickly? I'm trying to reduce boot times on my own T420 but the lowest I've been able to get is 9 seconds from GRUB to X

Look at wakeups (using powertop) and reduce wakeups. Reducing display refresh rate to 40 fps can help too.

Deppends on usage. I have light desktop and binary version of browser, so it's cca 8h on my current laptom (Ryzen 5850U)
I use Arch btw.

Directly on laptop. I don't have separate desktop, but i have pretty fast laptop now (Ryzen 7 with 16 threads)
