I remember that kick left. I was a Gary Anderson fan because he played for the Steelers. I was on the Viking hype train that year too because of the Cunningham, Carter and Moss combo. I had been watching Randy Moss since he was in high school. Anyway, I was really rooting for the Vikings that year, especially since the Steelers were down. When he lines up all I could think was this game is in the bag and the Vikes are headed to the Super Bowl. When he pulled it left my heart sank, but I thought, all they have to do is hold them. When the Falcons tied it I lost all hope and knew destiny was stepping in. I felt just as bad for Anderson watching the highlight here as I did watching it back then. You were right, I forgot about him, until now. It's a shame he's not in the hall. He deserves it.
I always hate when people go to the 98 season and say it was the perfect season kicking and leave it at that, the dude was perfect minus 1 xp the year before too so he went 2 years without a missed fg
He lost us (MN Vikings) a trip to the superbowl in ‘98 during Randy Moss’s rookie season. 🥺 Edit: That part of the video played right after I posted this. Ha..
I literally just learned this dude's story watching the Dorktown Vikings Documentary.
I applaud their effort for putting so much information in the videos
The Minnesota kicker curse, Gary started it all and then Blair Walsh. Unfortunate for Gary, should definitely deserve to be in the hall.
Can’t forget recent guys like Dan Bailey, Kai forbath, and that one game of Daniel Carlson

It’s crazy to think only 5 kickers in all of NFL history is in the hall of fame, I’m still mind blown by that

1998 & 2009 are years I do not want to talk about. Not to mention the 4 lost Super Bowl too
To be fair, I don’t think the Vikings would have beat the broncos that year in the Super Bowl. Especially since they were struggling with the falcons
Denver’s offense was a whole different beast that season. A 2,000 yard rusher, great receiving threats, and even their backup QB was great
