    After owning the Infidel and Ultratech for a while now here's what I'd like; the sound and power of the firing of the Microtech mixed with the button shape, ease of firing and button placement of the Infidel. That Microtech x button is a cheese grater! I like the shape of the Infidel but the Ultra carries much easier in the pocket. I just can't pop for the Heretic due to the weird handle to blade length ratio. I'm shallow I know lol.

    Review a bohdan or a roberto ottonello gravity knife if you can find them

    What, nobody buys a 500$ knife to just open close all day. Sure it is fun but c’mon 😂

      On the contrary, there are plenty of people who do that. 😂

    Why would you put the ultratech in this lineup ? Why not one of the microtechs that is in the same category or at least price range ? Scarab 2 , combat troodon , dirac delta would all be in that same bracket . Ultratech is the budget , sub $300 microtech whereas the infidel is $500 retail

    Ok. Nice selection. But, which one you like ? Which one is the higher quality ? Which one is more bang for your buck...or, maybe to rephrase all this questions, which one would be the last to sell ?
    I am trying to decide if I should better buy the Manti X before Cypher, Dirac Delta or Ultratech...and it is very hard.
    Your review is closer to something I search, but still the questions...

      Ha ha, I saw the other video with the Manticore ! Question answered.

      I haven’t held the dirac delta but I’ve held the cypher and prefer both the combat troodon and the ultratech to the cypher. I like manti x but ultimately sold it before the ultratech for the reasons you saw. Oddly, the one I didn’t expect to keep was the Benchmade Infidel and it’s the last one I have left as I sold the ultratech too. At some point I plan to get a combat troodon and suspect I would keep that over the Infidel but, as I discussed in another video, part of the reason the Infidel stays is because I feel less bad beating it up and because it’s resale value is so low that it doesn’t make sense to sell it. Also, just and FYI that I have a giveaway going on right now on my channel in case you’re interested. It’s not an OTF but it’s a pretty good giveaway for a channel my size.

      @@TripleEEDC Oh, man...thx for the fast reply !
      About the giveaway... I am in Europe :), but thx. Good point with the Infidel ...in my opinion it looks, let's say, not that good and D2, well...
      In Europe, this knives (US made) have very high prices, the USD transforms into EUR and adds taxes and shipping.
      So a Manti X would be 339 EUR, s Cypher 530 EUR, a Dirac Delta 390 EUR, a Combat Troodon 590 - 650 EUR, Ultratech 380 and so on...
      For some reason, Manti X in Breakthrough blue and recurve battleworn at 339 sounds nice :)), but I have to convince myself it has some value...at least a little.
      Your reviews about what could be an interesting knife, considering the company's history, are the closest to what I am looking for.
      I don't like also the blade handle ratio. Good point. Thx !

      Yeah the blade handle ratio was a big drawback for me. The ultratech was a way better option when it came to that. You should also check out the Guardian Tactical Recon series. I have held them and they have good action and are well-built.

    Sup man does the heretic rattle open and or closed. How's the blade play

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  4 роки тому +2

      As with all OTF knives (except the Hawk Deadlock), you get some rattle when open (none when closed) but less than my Hogue OTFs and around the same as my Microtechs.

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  4 роки тому +1

      Nick Aus your comment made me go check my OTFs for rattle when closed. I had always noticed rattle when open but never when closed. Here’s what I found: no noticeable rattle on any from regular use and carry when closed for pretty much all of my OTFs. However, when shaken vigorously, I noticed rattle in pretty much all of them with the least amount of rattle in my Benchmade Infidel and the most in my Hogue Compound. It seems the Compound has a lot of rattle due to the fact that it’s construction is an aluminum chassis under fully g10 scales. In order of least to most rattle when closed, here are my current OTFs (I no longer own the Manticore to check that one): Benchmade Infidel by a wide margin, Guardian Tactical Recon-035, Microtech Ultratech, Hogue Exploit, and Hogue Compound (this had the most rattle when closed by a large margin).

      It's a good thing. It needs be a little loose and relaxed in there. If it is too stiff, it wont fire as fluid. The closed rattle bothered me at first but after some digging i find it's fine

    No blade play comparison? Waste of time

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  4 роки тому +5

      They all have similar blade play. They are all pretty secure for OTFs and are not significantly different in blade play.
