All hail the mighty Thain and his walking bass line. What a glorious noise Uriah Heep was capable of making. John Slop, you need to check out the Demons And Wizards album from this band. It's a minor classic of the early 70s. So many good songs on that one. The Wizard, Traveller In Time, Circle Of Hands, Rainbow Demon and the single, Easy Livin', are all solid. The name comes from the book, David Copperfield.
All good choices. I’d recommend Easy Livin’ as a start. It bangs and more than most. Other than Steppenwolf, bands that used the Hammond didn’t go this hard. Uriah Heep strike me as a cross of Three Dog Night and them
Agreed. This is a great song. I actually bought this album new back in 1973 and still have it. As a budding 15 year old guitarist, I learned the solo note for note, and would often play it at top volume in my room. (much to my parents discomfort, LOL). Uriah Help was a character in Dickens' novel, David Copperfield, from 1850.
More Uhriah Heep! Great song and a big hit for them, they deserve more reactions for sure. Do their epic Gypsy from their live album, it is another banger from another band that excelled in the 70s. Hard Rock with a bit of Prog and a favorite of many big metal bands that came after. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Uriah Heep were vying with Deep Purple for the position of most popular band circa 1971/73. Deep Purple triumphed largely because Uriah Heep were capable of too frequent 'bad tracks' on studio albums. My advice to anyone is get the live '73 recording......it's a really good sampling/best of. It's also a brilliant live album.
Awesome song & great reaction!!!! SO many good songs to check out from this band!! July Morning, Tears In My Eyes, Gypsy, Suicidal Man, One Way Or Another, Been Away Too Long. Even try "Salisbury" if you can get thru 16 minutes of prog rock.
These guys were as good as anybody through the mid 70's until they kicked out the singer David Byron. They rocked with a smooth flowing harmonizing sound that was very stylized. One of my fav bands of all time. They should be in the hall of fame as far as I'm concerned!
Saw them at a Texas Jam along with Ted Nugent and Styx. We left the headliner (Styx) as they played their Mr. Roboto trash..... Note: Many left as well😂
I heard this song a lot on KYYS in Kansas City in the late 70s-early 90s. It was a staple. I'm into metal and punk but older than this guy. Stealin is a neat, psychedelic, gospel song. The Jesus Freaks were into songs like that. They were hippie Christians.

Yes-- the entire Demonms & Wizards lp was fire. Also their 'Look At Yourself' album. My favs...T
We had soooo much variety of music in the 70’s. It was unbelievable.
We had a Renaissance. Of great bands
Take me back to the old days. Thumbs up!
Others from them worth checking out - Easy Livin', Magicians Birthday, The Wizard, Rain.

Uriah Heep was one of my favorite band in the early seventies. Love their albums from '70 to '74. It became seven album.

Gary Thain was a great bass player🤩
Indeed... but the addition of Trevor just killed it to the max...
Circle of hands

Saw them open for Jethro Tull late 70s … MSG and the Spectrum.
Great tune brother
David Byron had one of the best rock voices ever imo. He died when he was only 27.
Mate he died in 1985, he was 38.
@eddhardy1054 I stand corrected. Thanks brother!
@@bobbyg7102 No worries. He's buried in Enfield Crematorium in North London (about a mile from where I live).

I saw that tour in Springfield MA with a young ZZ Top as the opener, unreal gig, you would have loved to be there...
@@vicprovost2561 When I play the CD I am there.
The 73' live was the very first album I bought when I was 13. Still have it. The live tracks sound better than their studio versions on that album.
@@bobbyg7102 Totally agree. 'Sunrise' still makes me experience the shiver of emotion I felt when I first heard it.
