I think that an informational video detailing how to quickly detect and prosecute the infringement of intellectual property rights might be useful to new inventors. I think that US Customs accepts photos and or descriptions of intellectual property which they distribute to their Enforcement Agents so that they can recognize pirated or counterfeited property and then seize it before it is brought to market. There are probably other means of defending against the theft of intellectual property that could be included in a video. Thank you for asking!

In the provisional patent, can the drawing simply be a print copy of the Fusion 3d drawing with the added figure numbers? I always see the drawings that look like they are hand drawn. I assume it okay to use for provisional because they are not looked at like a non-provisional patent.

@@johnferrellesq. Years ago I had an idea for “steam rollers” and also a “hand held hair dryer”. I later saw those inventions hit the marketplace. So when I saw your video I was so appreciative. No bright ideas at this point in time but I would be interested in videos that are inspiring. Thank you for your willingness to share.

How do I edit the existing figure-1 to edit and insert my own words? It seems like all these figures are created in Word, but every time I try to select a box the entire entity is highlighted rather than being bunch of editable individual boxes and lines.
The figures are not editable. You can just sketch your own figures (they don't need to be formal for a PPA) and either scan or take a picture and you can upload those as PDFs. 'Hope this helps. -john
I filed for my provisional application but how can I view my submission info files etc again because I just want to reconfirm if all is well. I opened an account but it keeps saying sign in and I do and I can't find my history of my application. Please assist
Hi Ryan, If you filed your provisional application as a guest user (without logging into a USPTO account), accessing and reviewing your submission will involve a few steps. Here’s how you can proceed: When you filed the application, the USPTO provided you with an acknowledgment receipt. This receipt includes your provisional application number (e.g., 63/XXXXX) and the filing date. You should also receive a physical copy of this receipt in two to three weeks after filing your application. Unfortunately, as a guest filer, you cannot access your application directly online through a USPTO account since it wasn’t associated with one during filing. However, you can still retrieve your documents by contacting the USPTO directly. Email the USPTO’s Electronic Business Center (EBC) at ebc@uspto.gov or call them at 1-866-217-9197. Provide your application number and filing date and explain that you filed as a guest and need access to your submission details. If necessary, you can request a copy of your submitted documents. The EBC team can guide you through this process, or you can file a written request with the USPTO. To avoid this challenge in the future, consider creating a USPTO account before filing. This will allow you to track and manage your applications more easily through the Patent Center platform. One way is to buy any patented components from the patent owner. For example if you need to include a patented wheel in your new bicycle, just buy the wheels from the patent owner and you get a an automatic license with the purchase of the wheel.
