Suggestions: Rack mount options and for crying out loud, turn off auto-update on installation. Too many times has this been a huge delay in working on networks when devices decide to screw around updating when we could be finnishing setup then update when we are ready.
*Looks at Amazon Item Page, Looks Amazon Store Page, then looks at website* ... Two questions need to be asked. One: can the 2.5Gbps ports be configured for LACP? (I need to make the best of a legacy 24-port gigabit switch) and Two: What SFP+ transceivers are compatible? (Do you have List of qualified brands&models?)
It's available for pre-order through our distributors! You can reach out to your local distributor by finding them on our website at Alta.inc - "Where To Buy"
whats the saturations ? can it realllllly use the ports fully ? ubiquity has a habit of launcheing routers that cannot do full saturation... and the controller why on earth you want it to be in cloud ? it should be in a docker container so you can locally host it :O o h wow you charge money to controle the device you purhcase locally thats insane xD
@@HikaruGCT yes, with port utilization you are able to truly get 10Gbps! We have 3 controller options - cloud, our hardware solution, and our LXD/Docker Self Hosted option! Looks good, except for the whole mobile app support part. Or at least that should be able to be disabled. Opening holes in your router for auto updates / monitoring on WAN side is stupid. Still watching but will need to see if we can disable all that / cost / ids/ips performance.
There is nothing opened in the firewall at all for mobile app support or updates, much less WAN-side. None of our devices expose anything to the internet.
*It sounds like something new, but in reality they are just standard Ethernet switches with 1Gbit ports and a 10GBit uplink. We already had that a decade ago.* *In addition, Alta Labs forces you to buy PoE switches: there are apparently no models without PoE, i.e. the switches are unnecessarily expensive.*
@@JimBowman69 thanks - that's not bad for $199, even being 2.5g - where did you find that though? I couldn't find it on ANY of the links from their website - there was no public pricing anywhere.
i know you guys are working with growing pains, but i feel like you're not trying to stand out much... wheres your x-factor? if i wanted a ubiquiti knockoff i'd get a tp-link omada kit.
I contacted Alta Labs online, asking if I could test their router and write a review, but I never received a response. If their after-sales service is similar, that doesn’t bode well.

Second that👌
😂
Keeping an eye on how you roll out your IDS/DPI and Firewall features ...Very nice device.
Silly observation, but I'm not sure the smoke effect at 0:14 is the best choice for a piece of electronic equipment lol
I need to see some testing done
Cool stuff!
Cant wait for this one, 10Gb on this tiny device 😁
the poe port ain't missing ! praise the lord :) not 1 but 2 sfp+ ? somebody listening !
Does it deal with full 10 Gb/s fiber with IDS enabled?
Yeah, I need a rackmount option. Kit or dedicated
Rackmount option coming soon! Thanks for the feedback.
@@AltaLabs does this mean a kit to mount this or we have to buy another one thats rack mountable?

You can use the mobile app via bluetooth for initial set-up!
is there a self hosting option?

When and where is Wi-Fi7? !
QoS support and features? Bandwidth shaping? Queues?
The data sheet only says "QoS for Low Latency" in the "POST-LAUNCH FEATURES (SOON)" section.
