      Perhaps so, but I doubt that he would have been eligible for the annual Lawman Of The Year Award from the Walking Tall Festival in Adamsville, Tennessee, of which the first one was held about five years after this incident.

If you were lucky, you would find one that was not graffitid all over, not covered with some mystery substance, not missing parts or all of the handset, not having a broken dial, and not jammed up with crap stuffed into the coin slot.
      The one in the bar was OK because it was in a place nobody would mess with it.

    Seems like a decent small community and nice place to have a family. It's good no one else was hurt and amazing with how many shots these guys fired specially at the officers nobody else was hit. I'm sure it put town on edge for many years after. They should design a red bar with purple heart in center for any dispatcher who had dispatched alone during situations like these and officers who were in situations like these saving lives and protecting the community.

    Had the Cody PD been in possession of a universal radio (if they were invented before then), the man at the bar who was killed would probably have survived. And for the bust to take place in Yellowstone National Park, those cops were lucky they didn't come across a grizzly bear otherwise if they had any K-9 units, they would've had to keep the dogs in their cars, which probably would've been a useless gesture since bears are capable of getting into a family car let alone an occupied cabin. I can't believe the show didn't say what the trio's sentence was since they were convicted of murder except for the female who probably pled guilty to lesser charges.

    • @muffs55mercury61
      @muffs55mercury61 Рік тому

      Agreed but this was in 1983 when technologically speaking, some things were still primitive. Even now there are still a number of cell dead spots (I live in one) Many towns didn't have a 911 system yet and DNA was still a few years away. It sure seemed like a modern world back then but compared to now it really wasn't. Another commenter said that the two guys were still in prison today.

      If you were paying attention you would of heard that THEY STOLE the guns. It's also Federal Law that if you have a gun you are not allowed in bars. If you are in a restaurant, you can not drink alcohol. You can not even purchase alcohol when armed.
      Fuck your background checks they do absolutely nothing and have stopped an amazing 0.00 shootings. Why? Oh that's right, there's this thing called Black Market and also people steal them. "If only we had stronger background checks, criminals would still steal them, but who cares it makes me feel safer that you had to get it." - The Left

      @@fear5735 There's no federal law against possession of firearms in a bar. Most states restrict it in some way though. Others may allow it as long you are not over the legal limit BAC wise. Others might allow it but say no drinking whatsoever. And I think a couple states lack any laws on the matter.

    They made it look like it was only 1 day for them to find and arrest the criminals. In reality, it was close to 1 week before the criminals were found and arrested. Typical dramatization of the situation but facts would be much better.

      The triggerman ultimately had his death sentence reversed on appeal but he's doing so much time that he's going to die behind bars and still owe the state a century and a half, the second one is still in prison and the whore got out after 30 years.

    I noticed just before the guy pulls the gun on the patron playing pool, the pool table guy gives the bad guy a suspicious look......if the pool player had not have looked at the guy suspiciously, the trouble probably would not have happened. The pool player should have not made eye contact with the bad guy....

      Hindsight is 20/20. Those people were strangers in a small town bar. It was natural of the pool player (a bar regular) to look at them a certain type of way.
