Boy, I've been waiting for SO long for this video. Being a port and jade lover I'm excited for Succulent Sundays. Can't wait till you show us what's become of your 'gollum'....you scalped it last year. You are the Bob Ross of bonsai Nigel....very meditative and relaxing listening to your inner monolgue.... Thank you.
Always love a Succulent vid but I'm especially ecstatic at the prospect of weekly Succulent material. Loving the PA forest a lot! Keep up the good work, Nige! - Ashley Bonner
I must admit that I like this planting much more with the scraping down the sides of the plant. Does add to the tree's character and makes it look much more mature. Well done!
Portulacaria afra or, as we call it, Spekboom, has edible leaves. They are an excellent addition to a mixed salad. Hint: pick the leaves early morning, rather than late in the day. Your "baobabs" are coming on nicely! Always a delight to watch your videos.
Loving these succulent videos! Also be careful when watering portulacaria's after creating open wounds, I usually wait for them to callus up after a few days before ever getting water near them. I don't think you did it this time but I remember you had a few portulacaria's that rotted.
The spekboom heal from the inside out, so they section themselves off from the inside and form a callus and then everything past that callus dies off and will peal away 🙌🏼
I love the single jade at the end. Very majestic already. Have you ever considered wearing a head camera? Something similar to a head lamp. That would make it easier for the viewers to follow you actions. Don't know if this could work, just a thought.
Love that "baobab style" PA forest. I must be unique but everyone seems to say they are easy but mine are struggling maybe should have waited to repot them until spring (bought them in December). They still alive but not growing really..
Hey Nigel, I would love to see a video about how this tree responds to directional pruning as it pertains to new growth. Another-words, when you clip down to the leaves the tree will grow two new branches from the leaf spots, but what if you want to prune a branch back to thicken it and still have it continue to grow straight? Thanks
Love this forest. Thanks to you, I've expanded my bonsai collection this summer and of all your forests, I think this one is not beyond my abilities (so my mind tells me...reality might be quite different!). So here I go. What are the dimensions of the pot you are using? Very interested in what happens with the scarring because I really like the way it looks.
My Portulacaria afra hat I got from a cutting, keeps growing sidewise very beautifly but nothing growing up. What can I do to promotoe upward growth? If you can help I would appreciate it. Thank you.
Hello Nigel! I keep missing your premiers, but I was wanting to ask: Do you think a crown of thorns would grow more quickly if you cut off all the flower buds?
That's a good question! I had a look at the flower buds, they are very insignificant and hard to spot until they show some colour. They look just like the leaves until they emerge. If you cut the whole tip off the branch, you would get the branch to divide into more branches, but this would also set the growth back for the summer. I think the best approach is to trim the tree once a year, let it grow and flower, then just keep repeating, year after year!
Succulent Sunday. Marvelous idea.
Woo hoo succulent Sunday! Good job Nigel 😊👍🏻
You felt like a friend giving me good advice. Thank you 😊
They are looking great! I'm looking forward to your Succulent Sundays!

PA forest looking great.
It is magic, having Baobabs without having Baobabs.

Hi. Nigel. Nice forest you have there. Like that a lot. Still working on mine building it up. Will send you a pic when I m done. Cheers for now
Forests are so awesome! Are you using al the same species or different
The forest is really coming along nicely. The scarring is adding an interesting feature to the trunks. 👍❤️
I've been watching your videos for months now. And I really want to start on portulacaria bonsai. The plant seems so easy and forgiving.
Loving these succulent videos!

Thanks for the tip!
You are the king of forest. Love it😍
Keep motivating us ....

Maple Monday and willow Wednesday next, perhaps? ;)

I was voting against the blue scissors on this one! Looks great!
Love that "baobab style" PA forest.

You do good work in a mad mad world Nigel, cheers man
Beautiful, love ur portulacaria afra forest 👍😊
I would never have thought, that this plant (grown for its eatability) could become a bonsai and grow that thick. Amazing!
Cant wait for Crassula ovata monstrosa

This is so great looking! You've inspired me to try a forest
Nice

When your true baobab seedlings have become bonsai, do you think you will scratch the bark on them too?
Nice video. Do you also water them every day?

Yasssss updates !!!!
You should style your hair like you do your bonsai trees. Different style for every video based on the tree of the video. That would be dope
How often are you watering the succulents?
I thought you pruned them in May,2022.
Rất tuyệt vời bạn ơi

Do you have a ball cap you could wear?
How about a paper bag?
@@TheBonsaiZone That would work. Also for you could just look in the mirror to style your tree...ahhahahaha.
