Hey scoob! I have a penn pursuit 3 and took it for sheepshead and spadefish yesterday at the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel. I took it apart after finding a light grinding noise and the gears and bearings are all good, bushings too. It won’t stop grinding though and the spool wobbles every so slightly. Do you think I bent the main shaft?
@@TackleAdvisors it was not that tight, but after taking the side plate off and cleaning the reel out and re assembling it I can feel a slight wobble but it’s smooth like a shimano, it scares me because no penn has absolutely zero resistance at that price point without aftermarket bearings
@@TackleAdvisors even with no load or line, feels the same with load as well. I’ll look at those pinion bearings, that’s what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure. What exactly am I looking for on the bearings? I don’t think they are corroded, but could be worn . Hard to tell

Hi i have been surfing your videos trying to catch ideas to buy a new reel on what would be better between a Caldia 2018, Lexa a BG or a 2021 Fuego on the 2500 or 3000 size for mainly top water wtd seabass. I don't find anything comparing between them specially between a Caldia and Lexa, those are now 40% cheaper due to new models coming out, any suggestions? highly appreciated.
problem going caldia is if you need service...otherwise it's a great all around reel...daiwas best looking in my opinion. Very similar to the fuego in construction...just no ugly red cosmetics. BG is still a work horse.....The procyon AL is probably Daiwa's best reel under the certate lt. Was just comparing them in my warehouse to the stradic fl and others.....even the tatula.....Procyon is a sleeper...to bad it's silver and red which is fugly.
You're right. It looks like the wind was from the east and with the current flowing south, so that means the waters placement is 2 degrees off its axis, making it hard for lures to be seen and smelled by the fish in that area. Better pack it up. Waste of a day.
Sounds like the 5 year old that I took bream fishing this past Saturday. Little turd played the million questions game with me, sang and hummed incessantly and tried to wreck my favorite crappie pole. I did manage to leave the lake without getting a hook buried in me so I guess I should be grateful.

is it tight at any point in the handles rotation...that's a good sign of a bent shaft......

@@noahjohns7954 hmmmm even with no load or line running on the roller? Try replacing the pinion bearings....may have crunched or corroded on.
