A 13 amp plug would be fine however it should have a 3 amp fuse for lighting circuits as 13 is to high to protect the wiring from short circuiting or fire damage.--
That was too obvious. anyone who needed this should not be messing with electricity at all! You never dealt with the various possible power connections from a plug, a spur or directly from the lighting circuit . Suitable fuse ratings, Mcb etc. Use of an override switch?
Henry Byrd it is . I looked up this to find out what fuse he's useing in the plug as I've installed a plug and 3 core wire to mine but I have a 3 amp standard fuse in the plug I earthed it to the the top plug pin and put live and neutral in the pins that was supposed to be then plugged in and all I get it a quick 1 second burst of light every time I switch on . Is this because i need a stronger fuse in the plug. It's a 500watt floodlight and I have a plug thats 3amp
@@inayat4339 I found out the issue . It is because you need to install it where you want it first and wait for the halogen gas inside the bulb to settle then switch h it on .
