Some great choices, John. Beyond and Manchester Morgue would be welcome to drain my wallet.
By the way, the scenes at the start of Manchester Morgue weren’t filmed in London but in Manchester City Centre ( hence the title). Being a Mancunian, that segment has some sentimental value for me as it was how I remember the City. Entire looking when I was a teenager.
The scene with the Lady was filmed in the door and outside Manchester Cathedral and without any permits!
Just to go off topic for a mo, but I do enjoy The Smiths. Such a brilliant band and some of Morrissey's solo output is great, too.😉👍

I like Delirium as well, despite it's lowly reputation it's a lot of fun and you are right, the use of that Mastermind music is just gold.
According to the director Peter Maris he took an unfinished film with the Kangaroo court, urban conspiracy parts already shot and then filmed new gory slasher style scenes with Charlie and added them as first half interludes to boost the running time and turn an unfinished film into a complete releasable one.
That is why Charlie is killed off before the halfway mark and why he never appears in any scene with the other main cast members and why the film veers between thriller and gory horror as it can't decide what it wants to be.
I think Death Trap will get a 4k release at some point, I think it's just a matter of when.
I too was surprised that the BBFC passed the scene of the Monkey having the top of it's head cut off for the UK release, I agree that I think Deep River Savages (I much prefer that title) would potentially look very impressive on 4k.
Only a couple of battered and damaged 35mm cinema prints are known to exist for Don't Look in the Basement, they are not even good enough for Blu-ray as the current Blu's for Don't Look in the Basement are very poor, so forget about a 4k unless someone miraculously finds the original camera negative.

I'm asking a lot for some of them, negatives turn up now and again, so fingers crossed and if they are found every one of them deserves to have the best available resources to take the movie to its highest level for future generations! Manchester Morgue is one of my favourites and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Its one that I'm guaranteed to watch at least a couple of times a year. I'd snap it up on 4k as I've only got it on DVD at the moment.
Yeah I agree that it's a movie you could easily watch over and over! I'm due a good rewatch of it myself Bill 🤔🤩👌 the blu ray looks nice mate, so the 4k should look VERY nice 😁😁🤩🤩
Grindhouse Releasing's 4K restoration of The Beyond has been touring theatres throughout North America since October 2022. The version on tour has included a new music score by the original composer, Fabio Frizzi.
People who are familiar with the company insist the 4K restoration will get a physical release. But it's apparently not unusual for Grindhouse to take their sweet time before it gets to that point.

@@MondoChelloveckMovies I don't know if they have released a 4K disc before. However, work is (or has been) underway on a 4K disc for The Beyond. According to an announcement from August 2022 (!), Grindhouse co-founder Bob Murawski has been working on the disc.

Manchester Morgue on 4K, just take my money now! I've always wanted to do a location tour of theat film, the hotel and post office and lake all look the same today, some day.

Disney are very conservative when it comes to their catalogue, and as much as I want to see this on 4K I doubt it would be anytime soon.
Yeah sadly that seems the case! Ok they own it but let a company like Arrow show it the love and respect it deserves! Disney can licence it to them and also get a good chunk of the profits 🤔😁 *that should really appeal to them 🤡🤣🤣 fingers crossed is all we can do bud 🤞🤞🤩🤩👍👍

Manchester morgue has always been one of my favs of the nasty era John sooo creepy and atmospheric and as always looked good even my pre cert which I still have looked great at the time, honestly don’t think the synapse steelbook I have could look any better🤷♂️. I revisited a lot of the locations only last week when on a weeks holiday to the the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District..for the 3rd time ( only 1hr drive from me), the stunning little village of castleton ,hathersage( the church graveyard)… the look on my girlfriends face when I asked her to take my picture where the zombie attack took place 😂 and dovedale ( stepping stones) etc.. death trap always been a fave too and again thought always looked great even on my vipco pre cert that I’ve had for over 35 yrs… though to be honest they all look dreadful now on vhs🤦♂️lol.

You couldn't see the skill involved with shooting most of the movie! @@MondoChelloveckMovies yea the locations really do look pretty much the same John.. crazy how they superimposed the church in the film on top of the hill between the rock mountains ( winnats pass) especially technology for 1974.. the grass hill is there but the church is actually about 3 mile away in the nearby village of hathersage and looks the exact same. Yea it really is shocking how crap old vhs tapes look now when played and I’ve checked a few recently which Are still in mint condition.. technology really has massively moved on for the good 🤦♂️😂

Inferno - even though Argento's films make no sense, which I'm completely fine with, there's one scene in Inferno that pushes it. It's the one with the hotdog vendor who appears to be running to help the old man but instead stabs him to death. WTF? But anyway, I prefer Inferno to Suspiria.
Eaten Alive is one of my favourite horror films. Tobe Hooper was one hell of a director.
I've not seen all the Section 2 films. The ones I'd like to watch are I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses (it looks really interesting), Don't Look In The Basement, Don't Go Near The Park and Night Train Murders.
I'm okay with not seeing Man From Deep River, Possession and Don't Go In The House.
I think with that death scene in Inferno, Argento was maybe trying to suggest evil permeates everywhere, everything and everyone when it wants you dead.
The ill-fated individual obviously hopes the vendor is going to save him but what happens next is just the opposite because the latter has become a vessel for the forces of darkness.🤔
It's a strange scene mate that's for sure!! Strangely enough these days that type of murder from nowhere seems to be happening at times 🤯🤯 but yeah its definitely Strange!! Miss you hugs and kisses is a good watch, better that it's based on a real case 👍 those other movies I really enjoyed 🤩🤩👍👍 good watches 😁😁 don't go in the House is pretty good mate 🤔🤔😁😁👍👍

If I remember rightly, I think I read that theory in an article on Argento in one publication or another years ago.
You could apply the same philosophy to the blind pianist who suffers some canine carnage in Suspiria and Emily's Alsatian agony in The Beyond.😉

Yes all the titles you suggested are worthy of a 4k upgrade.
And has many people have said the standout is The living Dead at The Manchester Morge
That would look stunning on 4k.
Its great locations would come to life on 4k.
Still one of my favourite zombie films.
Eaten alive and night train murders are again two more that would look really good on 4k.
Both of them shot really good.
Contamination, 4k would look nice

Honestly? The winner is 'The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue'. THE best film here. In comparison, this drowns out Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead'. This is a masterpiece that Synapse in the US released in a Steelbook and regular release. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen. You can now check out the fruit flies buzzing around Guthrie's face after munching on the copper's innards! Top 3 of the nasties. S.F Brownrigg? Only if you have toothache and can't get a dentist,
