If I remember rightly, that widescreen VHS of ZFE is described as 'the uncut cinema version' on the back of the sleeve. Naughty, Vipco! I think Allan Bryce came under fire for his recommendation on the cover at the time, too. The above release was the first ever edition of Fulci's fan fave flesh-feast I bought and I didn't see an intact print until you lent me your bootleg VHS copy back when we first met. God, that vintage Day OTD VHS takes me back to generally happier times and EIV were one of my fave video labels. Their 'rainbow ribbon' ident was class!👍
@@hallgos7319 Yes John you are right when vipco released zombie flesh eaters again in the early 90s They were advertising in magazines saying it was the full uncut cinema version, which was technically right as it had no further cuts to the cert X version. But fooled people in believing it was the strong uncut version, when in fact it was the heavily cut Cert X version. Vipco did release a lot of there titles fully uncut in Denmark on sale in Denmark only, but a lot of them found there way back in the UK. You could find them at video fairs, and even found a few on market stalls. The good old days of searching for uncut nasties around the country. All the best mate
Haha yeah that's a liberty giving those details out!! Vipco was the masters of deception weren't they!! I remember the time we spoke about the full uncut version of ZFE think I still have it, although the quality was 🤯🤯🤯🤣🤣🤣 I agree that EIV were a class company and put out some of the best VHS back in the day John 😁😁👌👌
Hi John, nice selection. The big box Day of the Dead is cut, The first UK uncut version was the sell through release from Arrow!! One of their early releases! Vipco did indeed release Flesh for Frankenstein on pre-cert VHS.
Thanks for the info Andy 🤩🤩👍👍 I would have never thought Vipco would have released Frankenstein & Dracula 🤔😲😁😁 it's amazing to have it from Dave for sure Andy 🤩🤩👍👍
I have the pre cert Frankenstein on vipco John . Dracula and Frankenstein were also released on another pre cert label video gems that were even rarer, Dracula was fully uncut on vipco ( I borrowed it off a mate in the early 90s)he had absolutely everything pre cert 1000s😮. Frankenstein though banned as a nasty on vipco was slightly cut by about 5 secs🤷♂️blood being rubbed on breasts. That ex rental day of the dead was indeed cut 2 scenes as I remember, a finger biting off scene and the machete amputation by a couple of frames🙄. I still have a Dutch vhs ex rental .
Thanks for the info here Wayne, very interesting mate 🤔🤩🤩👍👍 I do remember Frankenstein being on that other label and can't say I've ever seen it on Vipco as I said mate 🤩🤩👍👍 would your mate still have those pre certs 😱😱 it'll be amazing if he does 😵💫🤩🤩👍👍 it's so good to know that all of these films are uncut now and in spectacular editions isn't it Wayne 🤩🤩👍👍 thanks again bud!! 😁😁👌👌
John - great vid as always - fair play to Dave! he's some man - Day of dead -That Cover (UK) always loved it - kept the Arrow window box blu-ray just for that. memories!!
Thanks Steve 😁😁👍👍 yeah Dave is amazing! Very generous and thoughtful for sure 🤩🤩👍👍 I know!! Its amazing to have this back in the collection Steve!! One of the best Window Box editions for me Steve 😁😁👍👍

E.P is extended play. Some of the budget American tapes would use that in order to save having to use more expensive longer tapes. Zombie Flesh Eaters was still cut on that format, they did Dutch strong uncut releases but a lot of the postcert tapes they put out in the 90s still suffered from the bbfc demanding cuts on films that had been prosecuted.
@andygreen5609 thanks Andy 😁😁👍👍 I remember taping stuff off the TV in long play and the quality dipped quite a lot! Used to tape a whole boxing program off Sky then copy a great fight onto my compilation tapes (which I still have 😁) the quality is REALLY soft 😵💫😵💫🤣 cheers again Andy 😁😁👍👍
Hi John, awesome gifts. This is quite spooky but I’m literally watching Blood for Dracula right now on Blu Ray and I also watched Flesh for Frankenstein on Blu Ray yesterday, I picked them both up from HMV last week

Nice, That was the first release of Zombie Flesh Eaters I ever owned back in the 90s (I still have it), its cut to bits but still a good one to own, and that copy of Day, it's the first vhs I've ever owned (I was 7) thats when I started collecting, we're not just doing this part time John 😄 theres a good feature on the Blu ray (Joe of the Dead) I was in attendance of the Dublin recording of that in front row, Joe Pilato was a gentleman I got to hang out with him and he signed my vhs. Revolver, what an album, I have an original Mono pressing of it, you got some great goodies there, fair play to the people who sent all them.
This ZFE vhs takes me right back to those days for sure Mack 😁😁👍👍 I remember that extra with Joe Pilato R.I.P 😔 can you see yourself in the footage? What an honour to meet him!
