    This was my first baitcaster reel, I got it on a combo with Abu's Vendetta Medium heavy Fast action rod. Man is it a dream. I was so afraid to move to baitcasters but this has 110% gave me all the confidence I need.

    Just purchased this reel today, my first $100+ reel. I paid $164 for it but MAN, i dont have any buyers remorse. Seems very well made. I am amazed at how much distance i can cast since having it. Once i got it dialed in little to no backlash. I love it! This was my first time seeing any of your content. Great review, thanks for the video!

    Love Abu reels. My first was an ambassador 6500 c3 when I was ten. Now I'm 44 and still using mostly all Abu reels. Not used an sx yet but I'm going to get one. I've got a few Jordan Lee's. A revo x. And a revo Toro beast for big bass , stripers and musky. I've had other brands and they never last. Stripped a shimano out catching hybrids on the Ohio river. Never had that happen with an Abu.

    YOU DIDNT MESS WITH THE CENTRIFUGAL BREAKS!!!!!! They make all the difference, and if you thought it casts far just wait until you dial on both break sets!!!!! Best way I like to dial in is just tighten the spool tension until the side to side play is out and then turn your magnetic breaks all the way off and turn on all the centrifugal breaks and then cast and take one off until you start to get some overrun and then, turn up the magnetic breaks to max and back off by 2 clicks every cast until it starts to overrun and then one by one go back up until there is no overrun.

    This is an excellent video that really emphasizes the quality of the Abu Garcia Revo SX. Thanks for showing us, especially helpful for beginners learning about baitcaster reels. Three questions.. I know that you prefer the Daiwa 100 over the Abu Garcia XS from an answer you had on the Daiwa review. 1) why do you like the Daiwa better? 2) what type if rod do you recommend for fishing bass with a wack rig setup? And finally 3) Do you like mono over fluorocarbon and braided for your baitcasters and why? Thanks for taking the time. Cheers

    • @joshandhuntersadventures5046
      @joshandhuntersadventures5046  Рік тому +1

      I like the feel of the Daiwa better but the Revo is still a great reel I use them still. The Tatula casts a lot better in my opinion with the T won’t system. But honestly both are great reels in the price range. As far as rod setup goes for wacky rig I throw mine on a spinning rod and reel setup anything medium action 7 foot will work good with a 2000 or 2500 reel I like the Daiwa Revros which you can watch my review on that I have two videos of Revros you can watch. I just did a video on a break down of line and which to use under different situations. It will be explain to you better than typing it. Don’t forget follow us for more tips and tricks. That is awesome congratulations on your purchase you picked a great one. My advice would be to to start with the tension knob where the bait only drops by shaking the rod. The faster it falls the more chances you have for a backlash. Now you are gonna backlash so be ready for that but fast easy at first and work your way into harder casts. I hope you enjoy it and I’m sure you will once you get the hang of it. Let me know how it works out. Thanks for watching!!

      Ok the 6.6:1 is the gear ratio it is the speed of the reel retrieve the one that I have in the video is a high speed reel 7.3:1. The question you need to ask your self is do you need a high speed reel for what you will be using your reel for. If you are going to be throwing Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits and baits like that I would stay with the 6.6 if you are going to use it for topwater, or bottom baits the 7.3 is ideal. If you want a all around reel the 6.6 you can’t go wrong with that one. Hope this helps got anymore questions just ask

    Hey somebody help me out here... How bout the STAR drag ? Where and when do you adjust it ? I got the rest, but it seems no one address's the Star drag...Do I adjust it last according to the reaction of the fish and leave it loose until after I cast ? Don't know... All I know is if I adjust it 1st it slows the reel down considerably ... No birds nest that way ROFL.

    • @joshandhuntersadventures5046
      @joshandhuntersadventures5046  3 роки тому +2

      The drag I just adjust it by feel. So you just pull the line and have it set where the fish can pull drag and not break the line. So just give it a light pull and make sure it isn’t to tight. Cause for instance if you hook into a a big striper like on one of my recent videos that just came out that fish would have broke me off if it was to tight and I even loosened it some while fighting the fish. It is really just by feel something you will learn over time. I hope this helps

      ?! because this fishing reel has a 2 compartment brake system.it has pin and magnet braking system. when you open the side panel there is the pin system inside where you can activate and deactivate pins . from the outside you adjust the magnetic braking system. I ask you that because in the video you only ever adjust something on the outside of the magnetic brake, but not on the pins inside.

    @tylernelson1993 3 роки тому +1

    I cant get my Revo SX to cast very far.. Maybe 30 yards.. I got the same exact combo. With 12lb mono at the moment. Tension knob is barely treaded on. What are your brake settings?
    Edit. I took it out just now to mess around with it to see if I could get it to cast better. Nothing. All the brake tabs are open and the dial is all the way to minimum. I'll cast and the spool just stops spinning with about 5ft slack line remaining behind the lure. 25/30 yards max casting distance.
