I like how the arcane stage isn't necessarily the most powerful stage its just unable to be ranked because the people ranked there are sort of exceptions to conventional means
Best example is Nero (Secre) She is no where near as powerful as even a Level 2 mage but because she has grown her power to be as advanced as it is, shes an arcane stage.
I like how BC's power system is basically an old power system that is refined so well that it feels new.
That's practically black Clover, doesn't reinvent the wheel.

Zora said weaker runes and arrays last longer than powerful ones, so people with low mana can make more complex runes like his trap magic and magnas soulchain deathmatch.
God soulchain deathmatch is my favorite move in the series, magna just goes "Fuck your greater amount of magic, come catch these hands."

Black Clover has one of the best magic systems because it can go both "my numbers are bigger than yours" but also because your type is super effective

Asta was a terrifying existence prior to obtaining anti-magic because he defies natural order. Zaggred (the word devil) summoned that grime that absorbs both life and mana _(because the two are directly connected)_ but the moment it touched Asta nothing happened to him. Much like how he survived 9 months in his mother's womb, which would have been certain death for anyone else- considering the passive ability of his mother to drain life and mana.
we still need more context on asta's birth. for all we know, Licita could have been cursed right after Asta was born, or near the end of her pregnancy.

@@user-pm9ev3up5t I don't think 5 leaf clover is only usable by devils. after all, spade kingdom essentially has their own "devil grimoires" and they are just indicated by the black color, which are still used by humans (with devils helping)
@@asianpersuasion4901 That's not true Spade case is different from 5 Leaf in case of 5 Leaf Zagred specifically Stated that Only Devil's can use 5 Leaf clover/Corrupted Grimoire/Grimoire of Despair not to mention there is no record of either in spade or Clover having seperate/Grimoire of Despair it was a Legend even in Cover Kingdom only few people know the existence of it. In Spade there is no Specific Devil Grimoire mention till Date and Lucius was chosen by Double Spade which is more like Equivalent to 4 leaf clover from Clover Kingdom. Even before he become Devil Host. Astas Existence is most definitely unexplained as well as unknown ven till now with No solid answers as of now. 5 Leaf clover have unique characteristic unlike any other Grimoire I can mention many of em. Them which makes it more weird how Asta Maged to use a Grimoire with basically basic to no Info on it
@@user-pm9ev3up5t Well until heart, diamond, and spade show the equivalent of a 4 leaf and 5 leaf clover, it's pretty likely that special versions of those kindgom's grimoires (even if they look normal) can be used by devils, cause saying devils can only use clover grimoires because only clover has different types of grimoires doesn't seem right.
What I like about this magic system is that super forms aren’t exclusive to only 1 person or 1 set of people. Anyone could have one all it takes it a little ingenuity
The reason why many characters names are difficult or end with *t* is because it's German like nacht meaning night or libe (astas devil) meaning love.
You forgot to mention hidden magic
That’s the OP magic that Zora and Magna use
Hidden magic is using spells that aren’t in your grimoire.
The way to do this is by the use of rune arrays and great understanding of mana.
Basically when a strong mage uses the mana method, the runes they make are denser than the natural mana so the end up dissipating when used. However if the user has weak mana, the runes just stay floating around in the air.
Using this technicality, Zora figured out that he can keep adding runes/commands to his magic circles into making a ridiculously complicated spell that it effects the fundamental aspects of mana.
The 2 examples of these spells are:
Zora counter trap- absorbs a enemy’s spell into the circle, it changes it’s attribute to match the spell fired and shoots it back twice as hard.
Magmas soul death match- which creates a binding chain to the user and victim souls, which constantly equal there mana and it goes away when one is knocked out.
The reason no one uses this method is because it’s derived by the mana method, which is a specialty of the heart kingdom, and they focus on increasing the magicians stage to better use mana method. So no ever thought of it, Zora just happened to self teach rune arrays and went nuts.
In the officials it’s secret flame magic. Which is just a name of a spell. Also ppl can use spells outside of their grimoire normally
One mild issue that I have with how this concept is handled is that the core fundamentals of magic in BC aren't very well explained. So when Magna mentions that he can't just copy Zora's doubling kickback counter spell, I'm only left wondering why that is, because if all you're doing is writing runes to give your magic instructions, then logically speaking, that's basically the same as copying somebody else's code for your own program. So the only reason I could speculate on is that Magna just might not have enough mana, but that's not communicated in the story, so it feels like a limitation that only exists to justify why Magna doesn't just copy Zora's counter spell.
Also is "Hidden Magic" a community term? I don't remember seeing that in the story and I don't think it's even on the wiki.

@@Samsaknight Where was the explanation for that? If you're talking about the scene with Magna and Luck both trying to use Mana Method, that isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the scene where Magna is learning about how Zora uses Mana Method and they study together to help him build his own complex spell. Magna's exact words in the english translation are "Me and that attribute are totally... I don't think I can do the Double-it-and-kick-back thing."
That line doesn't say anything about his mana supply being the thing that is preventing him from using the counter spell, it only mentions compatibility in the form of attributes which I don't think is even related to the counter spell. And if his low mana is the reason, then why can Zora do it? Isn't the whole point of the Rune Arrays that Zora and Magna use that you can produce unique and powerful spells specifically because you're not using a lot of mana to produce the spell's effect?
@@michaeleanthonyjr Ur missing the entire point. Not just that scene but throughout the entire series it’s been stated Magna basically has no mana. It’s also been stated that the more complex the Zora’s traps are, the more mana it takes

Speaking of mana, a video ranking the heroic spirits in the fate series would be amazing. I would watch the shit out of that
Here are all the errors I caught:
1. *2:58* Strong/Grand mana zones, instead of Magic Regions.
2. *4:16* Wizards, instead of mages.
3. *11:29* Wicked Heart, instead of wicked eye.
4. *13:15* Five elemental spirits, instead of four... But he corrected himself.
5. *14:17* Mimosa has no attack spells, Magic Cannon Flower... But I think he noticed.
6. *14:30* Charmy uses transformation/transmutation magic, instead of Grey.
7. *15:53* Devil hosts tap into anti-magic (this is exclusive to Asta), instead of negative magic.
8. *16:52* Smoke garden is the only weakening magic, ignoring world tree magic and food magic.
But it was very entertaining because of how much I love black clover and Nick's videos.
Greys magic is actually transmutation magic.

I don’t think running out of mana actually kills a person like chakra in Naruto, if that was the case, both Magna and Dante would’ve died since they both confirmed ran out of mana and had to bare knuckle box (showing they also still had stamina)
Life force is also described as something separate from mana as Gaja, stated he would use all his life force to fuel his mana when he attacked the devil.
Magna and Dante fist fought because magna linked their mana supply with soul chain death match, making it useless to fight with magic

Lucius soul magic can manipulate people’s soul however he wants either to change their born-attribute- magic or destroy their soul but it didn’t work his soul magic on Asta since Asta doesn’t have mana.

The reason why lucius didn't change asta's soul is because he can't when asta is in devil union magic has no effect at all which is why their fight was a fist fight since only physical attacks can harm him

Life force is one's physical health and stamina.
A person's soul has nothing to do with life force. Lucius isn't the only one who can manipulate people's souls. ALL forbidden magic and devils can do that too. And it doesn't affect their life force at all.
Beelzebub and Megicula altered Zenon's and Loropechika's souls by turning them into devils.
When healing people, Mimosa specifically mentioned that she can only replenish people's life force but not their Mana.
Noelle ran out of mana against Vetto. Magna and Dante both ran out of Mana. Mimosa ran out of magic when trying to heal Asta, while he was fighting Lucifero.

Grey is the one with transformation magic (although she is/should be arcane stage as she can change the attributes of magic).
Charmy is the one with cotton magic who is always eating, and also is/should be arcane with her second wolf atribute that can eat others magic and give her mana. (Honestly most of the Black Bulls are arcane stage or are close to it with all the weird abilities they develop.)
ohh not taking the manga is hard because there's so many changes to include in this. I also like to think of rune method in coding terms like if/else statements
Mimosa does have the laser flower she used against gluttony dude but it was only possible because the mana powered by the water spirit

Well, Arcane Stage magic is a bit different. It's not that it is the highest stage, but that it stands as another option for mages to fight against Devils. Things like Anti-Magic, or Sealing Magic, or Transmutation Magic. Those are magic types that are unique by themselves. And its those same properties that allow Arcane Stages to fight on the same level as Stage 0 and 1, the highest ones in terms of raw power.

There are 3 different ways to reach Arcane stage, which is the level above Stage 0: become a devil host or weg, meaning you've encountered and channeled negative mana before, reach the Saint Stage with your Elemental Spirit, or learn Ultimate magic. The main reason this ranks above Stage 0 has more to do with their affinity to combat high-rank devils.
I really enjoyed this breakdown of the power system! I think it's the first time I've ever heard it talked about so detailed!
Nick, Mercury magic comes from Hacier Silva's steel type magic, which is a derivative of earth magic. There is a flashback where she is shown telling Nozel, "You are the only one of my children who has my steel attribute. Please use it to protect your siblings."

It’s so interesting, I’ve been following the magic system and I believe everything is correct, except that the magic stones can only be used by elves, that’s why the witch queen couldn’t use hers, and although a Diemond was sealed inside one of them, I don’t think she has attempted to release some of the magic trapped inside of the stones, aside from reviving the king
But yeah I can imagine how difficult it is to not talk about the manga lmao, i’m getting introduced to the “new content”
Though I am very curious and I hope it gets explained, but aside from genetics and cross species mingling, I want to say your soul can be a natural way to get other elements, I mean i’m going to have to look back on these two points (manga spoiler!!) but Yuno chat with his star magic and the wizard king’s origin both might be clues for if everyone can get more than 1 trick under there sleeve, I mean, sure you might need either a lot of mana or just prove your self in another kingdom to get their districts Grimoire 🤔

in regards to Weg, i'd like to point out that a lot of names in Black Clover are german- Licht ("light"), Nacht ("Night"), and Liebe ("love"), for starters, but it's been so long that i forgot any others- and the word "weg" can also be translated from german to "Journey"

the best thing to me is how the characters personality effect their magi, for example Finral and Langris. Finral is a passive person so his spatial magic is used as a support type rather than hurting others, while Langris is the complete opposite

Anti magic has actually shown to work on nature method when he was training with the lightning spirit guardian(can’t remember his name), this is probably because the nature method uses natural mana because the world there in is filled with mana.
Actually we have seen in the anime-canon training arc asta has used anti-magic to deflect true magic

I do want to say that asta had been shown to be able to nullify true magic in his training with gaja because even though it is real lightning it’s lightning with magic mixed with it
nick when you say release in the context of black clover you're not far of because mana is like if not just energy when you release it's moldable flexible mana and ki are pretty much the same under certain context that is plus magic is a broad genre so release makes more sense and some magic types are common
