This is very true. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Sakura has the strongest summon EVER. Every time she's in trouble, she summons Naruto. Only issue I have with this is that this now makes her "somewhat useful". I said only SOMEWHAT, don't attack me too much everyone.

The two ninja dogs that accompany Sai can also talk because he gives them nicknames and is then in return scolded by the ninja dogs for doing so. to give you a timeline for when this happens it is either right before or during the Dedera vs Sasuke fight.

The Gedo Statue's life force drain was not inconsistent, it was a process known as Synchronization. The Gedo Statue, to be used fully as a weapon, needed someone to synchronize with it (as Obito noted after Nagato's death, as he wanted Sasuke to synchronize with it).
In the case of Obito and Madara, Obito using it as a summon to fight Choji and Choza had it have 7 of the 9 tailed beasts, so it had quite a bit io juice in it. This allowed Obito to not have to worry about synchronizing with it.
In the case of Madara, one of two possibilities are at play-
1) Madara had already synchronized with the statue by using it as a form of life support
2) Madara didn't need to synchronize with it as he immediately sealed the tailed beasts back into it, giving it back its power.

Summoning is one of the many many things that were under explored in Naruto. Like making a contract just seems so easy so why doesn’t everyone do it?
Because not all Summons are of the same personality or attitude. Hell Manda threatened to kill Orochimaru and Kabuto if they didn't give him hundreds of sacrifices for contribution. So that means majority either have conditions for them to be summoned or even be contracted with
I also think all the big ones take a lot of Chakra.
You also just like, have to have access to it. Naruto met Jiraiya who had a big scroll with a summoning contract.
It also seems like the most powerful summons like gamabunta take a lot of chakra to summon. But even so I'm suprised that there wasnt any summoning creatures just randomly fighting in the war arc like in the background or at least just briefly shown to be fighting.
Each summoning has different conditions for summoning
Most have an personality so it could either refuse you or make ur life difficult. Heck Tenten didn't make a summoning with that turtle because it insulted her
Also, it takes Chakra to do so, depending on where and how big. That's why Lady Katsuya can only be summoned a bit
Thirdly, it's very possible that most ninjas actually have summoning but they aren't as impressive as the ones we've seen. Summonings with an ego are rare and most aren't good for some people's fighting style.
Others have summonings for specifically things like spy missions so we just never see them
And we have seen like 1hr worth of summoning so I reckon it's been explored well enough

I do wish there was more of a focus on the summons as individuals and their relationship with their summoners. I feel like that took a backseat save for some high profile examples and the island turtle
Okay the super wild thing about Lady Katsuyu that almost nobody ever brings up is the fact that she's actually capable of *faster-than-light* information delivery and communication, since all Lady Katsuyu share a single consciousness. So a Lady Katsuyu miniature on your shoulder could be telling you information happening half a world away, as long as another Lady Katsuyu is witnessing it, faster than the amount of time it would take for light to reach you from the same distance.

31:24 I figured out why sasuke can summon multiple types. It was the tip off he was going to get the Rinnegan. Only the animal path of the 6 pains was ever shown to have more than one animal and before Sasuke got 5he Rinnegan i had noticed he had 2 summons and thought it was a possibility.

I think the reason behind why Nagato had to share his life force or "Chakra" by being pierced by chakra rods when he summoned the Gedo Statue might be because it needs chakra or needs to be powered up by the summoner to function. Nagato summoned the Ten tails Husk before Akatsuki was founded . So, the Husk didn't have any tailed beast captured or stored in it. But when Madara or Obito summoned it in the War it didn't need any extra life force because it already had 6-7 tailed beasts captured inside it.

12:03 it might not be a plot hole. With Nagato, the Geto Statue was empty. With Obito, it had 7/9 tailed beasts powering it. So, it didn’t need Obito’s life force to function.
Also madara already summoned the gedo statue before he was reincarnated so he had some form of contract before hand

YES, Lady Katsuyu is underrated. Splitting your body up into a million sentient forms is a powerful ability. Giant Multi-headed dog has a similar power and is the strongest rinnegan summoning. And that dog didn't even show any long-ranged healing abilities.

The Getomaza had shukaku in it during the 4th gnw so it doesn't need to absorb madara or obito's chakra
12:35 . I always thought the reason why Madara was able to summon the gedo statue without the black chakra rods, was because he kept siphoning off chakra from it while he was alive.
So the chakra that he used to summon it was already the statues, so no sacrifice was needed.

I believe that Madara & Obito didn’t get emaciated from summoning the Gedo Statue due to both of them having First Hokage cells
To be fair to kishimoto about the gedo statue, by the time Obito and Madara were summoning it, it did have 7 tailed beasts inside. That probably made it a tiny bit easier
