When CART was on top of the world and I could wake up and watch every race on Sunday morning LIVE on ABC! I miss my sport...at least I was alive in the time of greats and witnessed them all 1st hand...I'm fortunate, but, I miss it so bad.
The peak of Open Wheel in America and arguably the greatest racing in the World at the time. The racing was so good back then, only to be destroyed a short time later by Tony George.
Prob Nigel's greatest ever win. Shame he didn't have a few more years in indycar. It just sounds insane that these cars had average speeds of 230 mph around this speedway, unbelieveable ! ! !
Great video set, kers. These films bring back wonderful memories when this formula of open wheel racing ruled all in the states. I will forever miss CART at MIS too.
One of the best races, I've seen on TV. Nigel proved to the world he was an all around racer, who can win on very fast ovals. This was during the height of CART's popularity. Too bad Tony George ended up ruining "American Open Wheel Racing" with that joke called the IRL. Present day Indycars are a mere shadow of its former glory.

X24RIDER and no SAFER barrier back then !!!

Those were amazing years in CART. I’m a big fan of F1, but the racing in CART back then was easily better than F1.
It was amazing F1 at the time was dominated by one team and it was very predictable, indycar had multiple winners and close racing
Nigel just destroyed everyone at MIS, especially Mario. Nigel was amazing on ovals and the victory at Michigan was one of his best!
Thanks yes they where good times and very close exciting racing

When a racing driver pukes in his helmet and then carries on for over ten laps at 200mph and wins a race you know he's a legend.....
Mann Indy car back then was the day
