For the powder jar, I dump the powder on a clean piece of paper with the fold line. Then, I can pick up the paper and let it fold along the line, so the powder will fall into the jar by the folded line. This works like a funnel! :)
Haha I feel so dumb! I do this when I repress my powder shadows..not sure why I didn't do it here. Thank you for sharing!
This video will help lot of beginner pro mua's with condensing their kits for max efficiency & space saving.Great job with kitmas series Julie
I'm so glad you loved the video!!
Thank you so much!! I love depotting and organizing and I love seeing how other artists do it :)
I’m so glad you liked the video!!
Love the series! 🖤
Thanks so much Misty!
Omg I was depotting some lipsticks earlier and I wish I had seen this before I did that because I was trying to smush them together inside my little squares and I accidentally turned my entire hand hot pink from the mess 😂 doing that part on the metal palette makes WAY more sense. Well, now I know for when I finish that up tomorrow! Thank you for this ❤
Haha it's tricky depotting sometimes, but at least you found an easier way now! I did the same thing as you're doing and found another makeup artist who depotted things on UA-cam when I started freelancing. Gave me a lot of tips I still impliment!
@Julie Ruby for the concealers/foundations try using a Pipette Dropper or a Graduated Dropper Pipettes this is what they use in labs to put oil/cultures in test tubes or small trays.
Yes that is what I use to refill the skin care liquids :) I just didn't show that on camera! Thank you!
Thank you for another great video!
Thank you so much Kaleigh!
All of your videos are amazing mama!!!!! You are killin it girl happy holidays
Aww thank you so much Lisa! Happy holidays to you and your family as well!
With the too face concealer, there minis are available (well I know they’re sold here in australia) there are only 3 shades - the lightest one, a med and dark, but I find it’s enough range to mix the colour you need!
Ooo I didn’t realize they made minis! I’ll have to check that out thanks!
I got some serious video watching catching up to do 😳. Thanks for these videos 👍🏻
Haha no worries! I put them all in a playlist if you wanted to binge. I just appreciate you watching them! :)
I have a question for you. I saw online that people were saying that when you repress powders that it compromises the texture and fall out as well as performance. Have you noticed that?
It may a little bit but it’s not noticeable in my opinion!
You can use a thick injection for TF concealers
The tricky part is they have to be pretty thin the go inside the bottles! The only powerful syringes I’ve found are thinker and won’t fit :(
Great video!
Thank you so much!!
Hi!! Great tips how do you avoid wasting foundation from the original container? 17:44
Hi! I’m not sure if there is a way not to waste it, but you would anyways even with a pump.
Hi Julie, will you be touching on consulting with your clients? Like maybe your tone, your setup, any other tips and tricks that beginners may not know.
I purchased your client contract a while ago so I am just wondering about that. ☺️
Yes I did a video a while back on this, but definitely can do an updated one! Also, thanks SO MUCH for purchasing the contract :) I hope it's been super helpful!
If I recall well, you carried an array of CT pressed powders in your kit at some point. Do you still like those? Or are loose powders better for everything?
Yes you have a great memory! Wow! That hasn't been since my first kit on here. I prefer loose powders because they tend to lock in makeup a little better than loose. Just a personal preference :) The only pressed powders I carry are the Kett Foundation Powders.
@@julieruby Thank you for always answering!
Hi Julie, do you have any problems with the Nars foundie depotted into the bottle? Does it change the texture?
Hi! No liquids don't change formula or anything just because they are fluid :) the only time texture might change is if it's a cream.
You need a blunt needle and syringe to make some of the depotting easier
I’ve been trying to find a syringe but I can’t find one that is thin enough to go into the bottles but still strong enough to pull it out. It’s really thick!
@@julieruby 10 gauge blunt needle. But it's just to suck up stuff and then squirt it into smaller bottles.
How many applications per pan of lipstick? Would it last for a solid week for my own use?
I’m not really sure! I always refill them as a makeup artist so I haven’t specifically kept track. I guess it would depend how much lipstick you put on on the daily/touch ups etc. I would say it would probably last a couple weeks at least.
OK cool. I have a long commute and I also travel alot for work. I don't want to carry anything I don't have to.
What do you use the dark brown paint pot for?
A quick smokey eye :)
What size are the bottles you depoted the nars foundations? 30ml?
They are 18ml :) Here is the link if you want to check them out: amzn.to/3YpnjVv
