Theory: The functional chest to the left of the table is your reward for defeating the purge, while the glitched chest in front of the table will hold some (all?) of the items they managed to plunder from you and you can reclaim it. The map table looks like it might be large enough to hold the last large treasure they stole.
Possibly, though I did manage to ghost mode inside one of the chests in further testing after this video. I couldn't interact with the chest, and previewing it was tricky, but I did manage to see some treasure in there that they definitely didn't take from me, as my treasure room wasn't breached. I think it's more just a secondary reward chest

This was pretty funny to watch, have you thought about Conan Machinima? ;) The new purge looks interesting as a concept, I think playing around with the difficulty may help things. The one thing that bugs me... That Button. I don't think you should need to press a button to summon the purge. I can understand it as a game mechanic, but lore wise, the purge was always supposed to be this mysterious force invading from outside and coming to take your stuff. I think they should've kept the old bar... but have it activate when you place the treasure coffer. That makes more sense to me. Probably too late to change it now, alas. Looking forward to more purge challenges through the beta! :D

Having just fought a Berserker purge yesterday, that wasn't even mine, was helping a random.... this looks like a joke. A cake walk. A nice stroll in the park. Imagine if ALL of that were Cimmerian Berserkers... THAT would be the stuff of nightmares.
No no no no no. I remember my first Cimmerian Berserker purge. I was just trying to build a new base. I hadn't fully completed the walls... They destroyed them all. They killed all my thralls. They killed me over and over again. *Cries in the corner.*
Like James said, I just insta-levelled them to 20 for the video. I also didn't have any points in authority, which may have helped further with making them a little better than just a way to slow enemies down
Great video, it gave me a better perspective of what to expect. Is there any information available on the type of area to build on. It appears from this and other videos the Stygian camp needs a specific type of terrain for placement of their camps. Is there a minimal path width through your build that will consistantly allow purge to work. I do wish Funcom had kept the looting of the dead attackers as part of rewards and thrall taking like with previous purges. Again, Awesome video, you are the Lore Master!!
I feel like the path of least resistance thrall pathing is at least two blocks wide for the AI not to glitch out. I would say three to be safe. A few at the start to slow them down then the treasure room an evil surprise.
So many questions. Right now it doesn't look too difficult. I guess for a builder the real challenge will be act 3, with siege engines. Looking forward to layered defences and counter attacks. What happens if you attack them with trebuchet. Does the purge take into account how many people are in a clan.
Yeah it's not too difficult currently, even for a reasonably inexperienced PvE player. Trebuchets will definitely pump the difficulty up, though I wouldn't be surprised if they're only in the higher difficulties. I didn't try a trebuchet myself, mainly because it's kinda impractical to sight in a treb when the base could spawn anywhere around you, especially solo. Might be something to consider if you have multiple clanmates According the dev stream, the purge takes into account everyone active in the purge. That includes your clanmates, thralls, pets, and even other players that are just helping you out. 'Active' seems to have been defined as actively fighting the purge, not just in the area
As a builder seeing my hard work getting demolished would send me into a blood frenzy and I'd be unaliving everything in sight lol Watching it happen on your video had me twitching lol
They need room to grow and create more difficult purges, but so far yeah... this looks super easy. I'm building an army of Berserkers for this mechanic and I don't think I'll lose a single thrall.
I wouldn't say I'm underwhelmed, but I do definitely think it could be harder. I'm not too sure what the scaling is like with multiple players and more thralls, but I don't see any reason why the difficulty couldn't be increased further

@@nikoskazalakis6037 It seems like that will be impossible, as they directly target the treasure hoard they were called from. The only possible way would be if someone built a hoard inside your base, but even then they might recognize that they're surrounded by land claim that isn't theirs, and wouldn't be able to spawn
@@nikoskazalakis6037 From what we know, it seems that way. The purge will pretty much ignore the bases of people not interacting with the purge, and may not even spawn if someone tries to bait them onto your base

Yeah they seem reasonably practical, especially if you have players manning the walls as archers. They do decent area damage, so they're good for thinning hordes on the ground. By virtue of enemies being easier to funnel too, they're also more useful in that sense. As you mentioned in another comment, it probably is an overall DPS loss compared to having another player on the ground, but it's a pretty fun feature to interact with
I would love to see the Commanders be as formidable as the Arena Champion. And didn't the trailer show the summoning Set? Also is that a new Katana running animation?
Oh god I'm not sure about the Arena Champion 😂 but yeah commanders could do with a big buff, they're just glorified soldiers at this point. The trailer did show a giant snake, I haven't encountered it yet myself. I believe the katana running animation has been in for a while now, since Age of Sorcery if memory serves
I really wonder how the Purge will work on RP City size builds with multiple coffers. Edit: Do Demolishers still damage doors/base pieces even when Base Damage Setting is set to zero
I imagine it might be a little difficult to get the new purge to work until they fix the spawning and purging criteria, but after that, it could work quite well. I believe demolishers will still do damage even if base damage is set to zero
Yes Demolishers will always damage your base if a Purge has been triggered. They had mentioned this in their live stream. For bases with multiple coffers, I believe they will target whichever one you proclaimed your wealth from as I don't know if coffer totals are cumulative, I think they are individual values.
@@Winterizes So like if 3 tribes have their coffers as close as they can together. They'll only target the one that started right? If so if all 3 started at same time it's will be nuts and the City would probably get destroyed.
If you're getting the "treasure room is unable to be reached" message, it might mean that either your treasure room is buried too deep in your base, is too far away from the point of entry, or there are too many obstacles between the gate and the treasure room. It seems they have a tolerance to how much is put between the gate and the treasure
@@Eradicati0nn the problem is I built a 4x4 floor with no walls stairs on all sides in an open flat field and it still gives me this message it's simple, this is as buggy as most the content these devs have released.
Video is very nice indeed. Unfortunately, another core mechanic ruined in favor of a worst one. Rewards are a joke, and the automatic purges, even with problems, was a lot better of that BS and a lot more challenging and rewarding. Problem is always the same: instead of ADD new contents like this kind of purge with the existing one, they remove the old ones in favour of nerfed versions.

Presumably your thralls were not leveled up either. That will be important. Basic thralls out of the box will die easily as do pets.
He probably leveled them up to 20. They won't be peak stats because of just instant leveling them.

Most of it is just using fly or ghost mode and the FOV command. I sometimes use Pippi's Camloc tool, though I don't think I used it in this video
