- UFC 301 just happened and man that card was incredible. Although it wasn't stacked on paper, the main card fights were bangers. Pantoja and Erceg having a proper scrap, Aldo making a big return win and Smith somehow beating Petrino? Let me know your thoughts on this PPV

Erceg got robbed....Pantoja didn't do anything significant during the control time...UFC judges need to give due importance to striking and damage over insignificant control time and takedowns...it's supposed to be a MMA fight not a wrestling match
Borralho was good but he needs to improve his striking for whenever he fights someone who is not completely shit at striking. His front hook was leaving him open for counters. But he is an intelligent guy, he might be able to go far.

I scored 3-2 Pantoja, the elbow in round 3 was damaging but if I recall correctly Pantoja was outstrking Erceg until that point and he got the takedown. Round 5 will haunt Steve for a long time, that was a really bad judgement call to go for the takedown.
People calling robbery are delusional. I thought it was close but Pantoja edged it.
I think the fact that Craig was only hitting him with kicks meant caio felt that he could leave himself open when he was punching him, when he faces a better boxer I think he will be smarter as you said

Watched this during a 2 hour drive home from a concert. Slapped.
To be honest before the last round Erceg won just 1 round in a clear way, if you want you can give him 2 rounds but going into the last round he had to find the finish while standing up, instead he shot a terrbile takedown and got taken down by Pantoja and basically gave him free time control. Maybe not the clearest of wins but i can definitely understand the Unanimous decision win for Pantoja
As a brazilian, I just really hope they stop going to Rio.
The São Paulo crowd perhaps went a little bit too far last time by celebrating Almeida's snoozefest against Lewis, but they would absolutely have given Shogun a proper standing ovation and Pantoja wouldn't have asked for them to stay.
It's sad that the company that went to so many states in the past now only considers Rio for bigger events and makes all of Brazil look bad because that's all people see.

Erceg lost 100 percent, this isn't a video game, erceg needs to fight and finish real fighters. His resume is weak and his experience is years behind. Give him a few real opponents and 2 years and he may be ready.

If you score the fights on damage like you are supposed to, meaning that u essentially ignore grappling unless it leads to submissions and ground and pound, then erceg clearly wins on damage.

i wanted erceg to win, but i had pantoja winning. lost too much control time, got absolutely dominated on the ground and kept going for takedowns like a dumbass. was very winnable though
orolbai has some big holes, has absolutely no guard and lackluster counters, he also needs to change his pace or work on his cardio because he looked dead by early rd3. still really like him and am excited to see him improve
