Worse than Andromeda. Andromeda changed the setting to avoid addressing previous player choice. Veilguard goes out of it's way to ignore it. Then the ending eliminates prior choice entirely 🤬
Honestly I’d reached the acceptance stage somewhere between Inquisition and Anthem… I’d love to be pleasantly surprised by my former favourite studio; but there’s no expectation of them ever recapturing what I loved about their games again. It’s fundamentally just not the studio it used to be.
Happens when the majority of the old guard leave unfortunately. Now they're off in other studios, or having founded one together to make games they actually enjoy. EA buying out Bioware was the absolute worst thing to ever happen to them.
I can forgive a lot... like a *LOT* ... if the game devs are ethical, respectful and try their best to deliver a product that they love and that they want their *paying customers* to love. Unfortunately, Bioware has made it to my list of "never buy again" studios, along with Obsidian, Blizzard, Ubisoft and Bethesda. I've loved their games for decades, I've remained hopeful while grieving for that they *used to be* for decades too. Unfortunately, in 2024 these studios decided to show their whole asses, along with a virtual sky-written invitation to the show. I'll suck up the occasional bad game, nobody can be S-tier every second of every day... but when studios start *consistently* producing slop, charge more and more while the games get smaller and smaller, and *then* start gaslighting, dog piling and abusing their paying customers PUBLICLY on social media and discord? Nope. I'm done. They may not need me as a customer, but I don't WANT them anymore. There are more ethical studios, with more polite devs and far, FAR better games out there who actually WANT my money. I'll be gravitating to the GGG's and the Larians' of the gaming world now. I'll be following ethical devs and great gaming pedigree rather than franchises and studios. BG3 and POE2 have proven that companies CAN treat their staff and customers well, charge reasonable prices AND produce excellent quality games without all the virtue signalling and drama of BioWare and their ilk. They put their money where their mouth is and do their damn jobs, and the result is *actually* great games that I *want* to pay for and play for thousands of hours on end. I'll take that over abuse and lip service any day.
For me games like these should grab you and not let go, to the point that you realise you’re at work in 3 hours and haven’t been to bed yet. Not send you to the land of nod.
Just finished DA veilguard, and this was the last nail in the coffin for me regarding Bioware, won’t buy another game from this studio ever again, the game forces you to play and act like a good guy and dialogue options are horrendous ( really felt like being in a room full of HR people).
That was failguard. And the fact they had started to talk about mass effect 5 is another proof. Not that this game would be better when it comes out. Also game was on discount almost immidiately.
I must say I don't understand the benefict of the doubt people are giving to ME5. I am the only one who looks at an N7 COAT and think it's going to be nonsense? The hell?
I was already reluctant to buy the game when it came out and yet i was still considering getting it. reviews like this saves me money, I will never buy this game. I have lost all trust in Bioware as a games developer and only something truly remarkable will change that now.
The funny thing is that people on the discussion page on steam for this game claim it was a success and the best dragon age game in the series. We need to go there in large numbers to set them straight!
been a fan of DA since DA1 and im one of the few diehard DA2 fans. The minute i saw who directed this trash i already knew this game was cooked. The end result we got is evidence enough they were beyond incompetent and the games direction was a failure from step 1.

yeah the fact that a game can be a great sleep aid is probably the most backhanded compliment you can give lol
The ten years were enough for me to create and accept my own headcanon. Watched a stream and decided Veilguard wasn't it.

I'm shocked you managed to finish it.
@ took me a while ain’t gonna lie, but as I bought it, wanted to finish it at least.
Anthony Ta out here killing it again

So feel free to flood my subscription window with these! The game may be 2/5 but this review is 10/10!
Review was FANOMINAL! Was thinking about the getting the game but the reviews of others have been clouding my mind. Anthony being awesome yet again!
I must say I don't understand the benefict of the doubt people are giving to ME5.
I am the only one who looks at an N7 COAT and think it's going to be nonsense? The hell?
That teaser had me thinking they are developing the N7 line of high performance lifestyle apparel. Should be great for Conrad Verner. - Anthony
Keep up these tough but honest reviews
we intend to do our best
That intro is so relatable.
When he thought of that I was like damn that's a great idea we are glad you like it

We are always happy to save our viewers some cash.
Great review but defiantly helps me decide not to play the game.
I certainly can see aspects of Andromeda in this slob.

Everyone has different tastes. I loved Anarchy Reigns the general public did not
