Since you are suggesting books here, I'd like to suggest one back to you, I hope you can find it in English, it is called "Tsar/King Radovan's treasure" it talks about a lot of stuff but also has a good part where it talks about women, and I think the writer nailed (pun intended he, was a ladies man all his life) that part perfectly.

I remember back in my high school days I had a few female friends I would hang with go to football games, pep rallies, skip school, and much more. After I graduated, Myspace was born and guess what, those girlfriends all disappeared. The problem with marrying the woman at or above your level is that women inherently need to look up to a man for something. If it is not money or status it has to at least be a sense of power. If a woman doesn't feel like she has something to look up to in a man it's very hard for her to respect him no matter what she says.

They dont age as well as men, they will want to focus on family/social side more, they want less stress, etc... and you will be expected to make up the loss in income, and if she divorces you after she has reduced her wages to have her balanced life, then you will be back to being with somebody below your level.
You may get lucky and she leaves you while you are making less money and you get some small alimony, but its still too rare to be a worthy stat and you are still at a loss of resources and out of the work game because you were likely slacking because you expected her to keep up her game forever.
I have seen too many guys who think they found that special woman and 5 years later found out it wasnt so, too late.

My advice is to not depend on having a partner in life but to focus on yourself. And court someone who is worthy to court. And really get to know them and go through trying experiences together to truly see how one is like before rushing into marriage. Date, not have intercourse, with many people to truly know who you are compatible with. There really are good people out there. A lot of the time, it's two people who should have never married in the first place. Either way I hope people can find their happiness. Relationships are important. It's the laws that need to be changed.

As a woman, I would give this advice to men regarding this issue: yes, hypergamy is a problem. Women going for 'Chad' and "Tyrone' as they say. I was engaged, and our wedding was going to be this month. We called it off two months ago. It's amazing to notice now how much of the worlf I was unconsciously screening out, suddenly, I am aware again of the ways to women are looking at me as I am out and about. I see them checking me out, even when they are with another man. I had been ignoring that to make it easier to settle down, I suppose.
But it really hit me yesterday. A man who settles down is effectively saying to his future wife, "I am done striving. This is the level at which I am comfortable." Of course that is unattractive to the woman. A man who doesn't settle down is effectively broadcasting the opposite, "I am not done striving. I can achieve more, attain to more, make myself more desirable, earn greater access to opportunities."
