As a musicologist I advocate that these folksongs which are untouched by Spanish music styles (unlike Bahay Kubo, Pandanggo sa Ilaw, etc.) should be popularized and be brought to greater awareness to the rest of the Phils.
It's always cool as a Filipino to see our kind retain some of their indigenous culture. Although I'm not a member of the Mansaka or Lumad people, I do feel proud having a sense of how people in the Philippines were before the Spaniards came.
Every part of this video was brilliantly recorded. The Philippines is such a wonderful place. I have watched this video several times, it's wonderful.
Thank you. I wish that I could here that admiration for my country from my own people.
Michael Phillips I am mansaka tribe my family all speak mansaka dialect. My late grandma still wore the costume it’s beautiful also out food cook in the bamboo..

Hi sir, I am writing my thesis about 'Mansaka Bagani' and I interviewed your grandfather Datu Aguido Sucnaan last month. And you know what, he is a good man so I like to dedicate my thesis especially to Datu Aguido and Bia Lilia Lagunzad. I hope and strive, and pray that I can finish my thesis writing this year and defend it next year. And also the Mansaka tribe will be the one to benefit it particularly the Mansaka Bagani.
Wain yani na lugar?
Asa ni nga lugar??by the way im from maco my mama is also a mansaka and im proud of that...😍😍😍mkamiz ang bukid ug ang tog2x...im joyce tandica bonajos carin
Hala🤣 🤣🤣🤣that was me dancing the mansaka dance🤣🤣
panawagtawag in manobo term calling the spirit of nature...and when they dance that's called yuna an, communicating the spirits or diwata asking for guidance and good health....
I have lived with this tribe pretty much my entire life and I have witnessed a set of tradition worth preserving. The music gave me nostalgia feels. I have once danced with it even though I am not originally part of the tribe because the people accepted me and my family as theirs.
Mabuhay ang kultura ng mga katutubo! I appreciate that the team recorded this, as I know not many pinoys even knew of these tribes. No one should be ashamed that they dont really know their own people, but be ashamed if you didnt at least try to learn. Watching from Zamboanga, Mindanao☺
I love the combinasyion n various of each Obi' Doyo'(indigenous of the pure land) music n similar instrument from our cousin in Mindanao..... 4:33 ... wait for me~~~shaman said!! I would be like that shaman too(from which ethnic?), cannot miss this beautiful music too...hehehe
Love that some of this heritage is preserved, especially as so much has been lost!
i belong to this Tribe and i am full blooded Mansaka...
Tama kayo. Wala tayo alam sa tunog natin. Sana ma mapa unlad ang ganitong musika
Iits a nature ritual my father always do the same as this when I was a child, before and after harvesting he do a ritual, he said it was s thanking from God's good guidance
Beautiful. I grew up with Mansaka neighbourhood and I am a half blooded Mandaya.
Thanks for sharing your ways, I hope they will live and flourish forever.
Bless them n Keep them safe in all that they do....where ever they goeth....let Thy Annointing & Protection be upon their heads....where they slumber...they shall know Peace......All Goes Well w/Them....All Is Well w/In Their Souls.....~Shelah~ Thank You For Sharing....I was very moved
thanks for this!!! amazing
unique sounds with unique ceremonial....
Love this music..How I wish I could hear it performed live on Bohol.
+Albert Garzon , there is no such music in Bohol. What is in Bohol is indigenous Hispanic influenced music sung by those living in the mountains and other interiors of Bohol.
Is there anybody from Maco, Davao Province here? Proud Macoeños!
May I ask what is the story behind this dance ritual? I may have to share this to my kids and tell the story of Philippine tribes. After all, no one has to be foreign to its own nation right. Thanks very much.
Erich, Lance and Jaron Amarante hi :) you must come here to learn the story :)
Even I a half mansaka cant really understand what the tadong's (old man) talking about i but i understand a little bit of it ummm I think its to Give thank fornthe good weather and ask for good weather in the future I think
Disclaimer: the conclusion that i have said is not 100 percent right cause its only.based on my opinion and what i understand

Same with Sabah-Sarawak tribes. I think they're related.
Datuk Abdul Mansaka and Mandaya tribe are the same austronesian people of Malaysia and Indonesia who are not islamized.

Good day Sir Vincent! Sir I will be producing a segment about Mansaka tribe, I'm asking your permission if I can use your file for my video inserts. Hoping for your positive feedback. Thank you sir.
Maraming salamat!
absolutely beautiful. cried a little. makes me want to know more about my filipino ancestry...
Does anyone know where I could find an album of this type of music?
Righteous🙏🏻
cool ritual
What do they call the offering of the wine or drink in their offerings? Is it similar to the tagay?
This is going to sound very odd.. My paternal Grandfather was from the Philippines and one night I woke up singing something that sounded a lot like this. Using a hypnotist, we were able to get about a minute or so of me singing.I don't know the language, it's all very strange.Maybe language/song survives in the DNA.
Whether I believe your story or not, the idea behind it is an amazing thing. I do believe your story btw.
I believe u.. Same thing happened with a friend.
August 27,2022 a masterpiece
I'm not claiming the language is right, I don't know.Could be gobbledygook. But it is similar. Its like the "blueprint" survived.Finding this gave me chills.
It is right i still pick up mindaaon words
Permission to use this video po so to promote our traditional Filipino music. Not for profit but purely for appreciation so I will be able to spread the message!
what is the name of that bamboo drum the young lady is playing?
Excuse me sir, Asking for permission to use some parts of your videos for educational purposes. This is beyond beautiful!

"music from a younger world"
similar to Dayak in Borneo, must be Borneo is included to Philipines
Very similar, even the clothes and the dancing is quite similar.
Bornean languages and Philippine languages can be grouped together as a cluster within the greater Malayo-Polynesian language family
w4lr6s North Borneo now Sabah was part of the Sulu empire until Malaysia illegally occupied the region.
@@gearzone2611 there is no sulu empire in north borneo haha..the sabah orgin belongs to brunei before..brunei offer the sulu for the east north borneo to help a brunei to stop the head hunter and there are nothing or any helps from sulu until the british company take over the north borneo..the army of sulu afraid to go inside the forest then they build a house at the sea..after the decades,no more head hunting,no more war they claim for north borneo for no reason??how stupid is that? Even now there are no more sulu empire and they stil claim??what a shame...if the philipine stil to take a north borneo then you all have to face a dayak tribe first.
@@kellypaparoppo8142 I've read it somewhere that in the end Brunei got helped from a Dusun tribe. Stop headhunting tribes with another headhunting tribe, I would call it a genius solution.
Good day sir! I'm a Filipino producer from Davao del Norte, and as being a proud Filipino, I'm very much interested in having the vocals of a Mansaka singing and put it over to one of my tracks. I would be happy if you let me do so. Thank you!
of course please do it as you like dear Kent. please send me the result.
+Vincent “Petites Planètes” Moon thank you so much, hopefully I can render out a track from this one, I will send you the track after.
Did you ever do the track? I'm curious to hear it.
@@kentlugo1759 I have someone who did a track to this. It’s incredible. Please send your. Indie so I send to you

Original yun.
This is proper filipino culture not the wierd spanish influnecd stuff!
If Spanish music is weird, then tribal music is shitty and monotonous. You only like it because "culture" and stuff but remove the "tribal" tag on it and everyone will know how shitty the music is.
Singkil Filipinas Thank you for your opinion sir, we'll make our music better.
