A little experience from me when setting the cintiq on a windows pc, first turning on the cintiq, the no signal sign come out again, I try to check display setting and my cintiq was not detected, I scroll to Multiple displays setting and choose one of the option and the cintiq is finally got the signal, hope it helps for people who got the no display problem when first time setting the cintiq
Glad you got it worked out!
@@aaronrutten thanks so much, good thing that it all working out in the end :)
Eric ng I am literally was having the same problem! Omg this is a lifesaver!!
M not getting display too
I want to buy one but idk what computer to get with it, what should I get
Quick tip. When screwing in the plate, screw the 1st screw in partially, then the second screw should be the one diagonally opposite. Dont screw in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
Rubber cups are for the resting side of the tablet on the tables...i think it will benefit in providing friction
Coming back to this video a couple of years later, it has far too many cables, and that power brick is such a nuisance.
Agreed, I’m missing multiple cables as well. I’ve called Wacom already and they sent me the wrong cord. It’s just really annoying, considering I’ve waited for this for months
Question, I have a 2012 macbook pro. 1 Thunderbolt, 2 usb, and no HDMI. I ordered a standard Cintiq 16 (not the pro). This requires to use the 1 thunderbolt, and 1 HDMI. I have a single thunderbolt to HDMI converter cord...... BUT I also want to run an external display......how can I run both? having a few extra USB ports would be nice as well!! thanks!
Wish the 13hd had it's cable secure like on that. Mines not broken yet but it terrifies me. I move around quite a bit with it. Especially after my pro medium broke on me at the port.
It shows that i don't have display toggle and everything after that isn't the same.
I also don't have the same monitor settings.. Do i have to update the windows by any chance ?
This is INCREDIBLY helpful! Thank you so much. I know I’m late but 😅
I want to see this same on tablet and on monitor and I dnot know how to do that ! grrrrrr

Great, I asked the shop if I needed anything else for this. Now I need to get an adapter. UGH. I wish they told me!
@Red player I have the adapter now, it goes into my mac.
The iMac does not have an HDMI Port... how do I connect it?
Get an adapter
Do I need a graphics card to use this Cintiq?
If your computer has an internal HDMI port, then I wouldn't think so.
So this wacom unit is like a great tool for artists in general, but the price is quite something for all the tech for arts now in days.
Hmmm almost sounds like a great treasure/ luxury.
I need to do more researching on laptops, etc.
What's a better buy. Cintiq pro 13 or new Cintiq 16? Super confused. Please reply.
cintiq 13 pro is NOT even 4k resulotion, it has many issues and its small. the only good thing about it is that it supports touch, so you can move and zoom the canvas with your hand. otherwise, 16 is better imo
no matter what I do I won't sync to my desktop? I can't get it to work. Please help.
hi, Aaron, im planning to buy this cintiq, i just want to know if the screen scratch easily
Does anyone know if this is touch screen?
No I don't think it is sorry :/
@@ashyokami9065 yeah it isn’t I just realised after I got one lol
So I have to connect this to my computer in order to use it?
Yes I think you do
hello, I need help, I accidentally put in “pen display to desktop” and now I can’t change from my wacom to my laptop, what can I do??
I've been torn between buying a Wacom Cintiq 16 and the Pro version of the same model. I have a MacPro; and while the Cintiq 16 has a 3-in-1 connection, the USB-C is not mentioned/available, therefore, my only concern is connecting the Cintiq 16 to my Mac (I don't want to forced to get a Cintiq Pro 16).
Hi um any one know how to get the signal for the display screen. Like I plugged all the cords in I have a hdmi connected from my gpu on my pc to a monitor and I have another hdmi port connected to the motherboard. I can get the screen to work if I plug the hdmi port to from the gpu to the tablet but then my monitor has no signal.
I want to have both displays and I’ve tried the motherboard hdmi port but nothing seems to be happening.
So how do you go on about setting it up coz I can’t seem to figure it out and can’t find a solution online like reddit or Wacom site. Wacom site is very vague on instructions and people on reddit are having the same issues. I don’t want to fork out more money for a laptop just so I can work on both displays.
hey! i have the same issue, did you by chance find a remedy for this?
@@_spacetearz yeh if your using a monitor for your pc there are only 2 options one is to unplug monitor and use the tablet as the monitor it self depending if your monitor is just using hdmi porty on the pc but the other option is if you have a hdmi to dp cable use that for you monitor and you tablet should be able to use the hdmi port while still having a monitor at the same time.
I have this Tablet 😊
How does it work?? Does it do what it promised to do??
Hi Aaron, thank you for the video. I'm bummed though...I'm not sure if my Surface pro will connect to the Wacom Cintiq 16. I'm looking at it and realize there is no HDMI port. I'm assuming this is a big problem :(
I think it should have Mini Display Port which you can get an adapter for to convert it from HDMI. support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023496/surface-troubleshoot-connecting-to-a-second-screen
Do you have to hook it up to a computer? Or can it be used as a mobile drawing tablet
Unfortunately you do have to hook it up to a main computer. Think of it as just a screen extender that you can draw on.
If you’re looking for a mobile drawing tablet, I would suggest getting the iPad Pro + Procreate combo. This work best for me as a college student so I can use it between classes and whatnot! Hope this helps :)
Please read this and help me soon as possible today, I got the wacom 16 cintiq for my laptop a month ago on June 8th, but I wanted to try it on Canada Day in July, cus I don't want to do it in June, because we were supposed to get that in May so I did open on July 5 days ago, but felt lazy for a couple of days to the stupid more then 1 wires it had unlike my 3 year old wacom intuos it has one wire to plug in to my laptop, I just was worried I won't get it right with my new one with a screen this time to try to draw faster, but after plugging the USB cable that was just like on my intuos one and my phone too has that USB symbol, but I also didn't know the larger one was a power wire and wishing it was just one wire, so I plug in too to find out that is why it won't turn on after watched a clip, but I don't know what the heck is a HDMI while trying to work the screen, could someone help me, because I have a learning disability and I am bad at figuring it out, please help?
I did try to install, but it said no signal just like 3 days ago not knowing where to install, was it that HDMI file supposed to plug in, but I don't know the port thing, I hate it so much for having multiple wires it be better if it has one wire only the USB cable like my intuos wacom and my mom agree with that, also I wasn't happy that I receive a no signal, because I was so eager to try to draw on that new thing, I was sad and crying that I don't know very well how to get rid of that stupid no signal and get it on screen of Paint.net I open to draw on, I am not happy it didn't work the way as how I did with the wacom intuos I thought years ago, please help?
Also I don't know if I install the thing right, I didn't receive this yet ua-cam.com/video/dCqAnzb2iMM/v-deo.html like it just looks like this [well I can't find a picture of it on google, I receive to download just saying Wacom and welcome I think, so I don't know if that's for the 16 cintiq and had 3 dots underneath it instead of like in the video I link you have 5 which I didn't like 3 days ago until I guess I try that just yesterday I did] I download, before restarting my laptop, help me tell how to install the right thing and get rid of the no signal screen, cus I want to draw on it so badly, because it's my first time, but I wish I got that a long time ago maybe 2010, because I also wish I had intuos when I was a teen, but how do I get that like in the video to appear when I try to plug it in today and nothing comes up and still say no signal or get the same wacom setup appears like in his video did not appear still when I plug my cintiq the second time, please help me soon as possible as I'm still crying from time to time or still sad over this?
I am sorry to hear of your problems, did you manage to solve this? (sorry for reading late)
+@@jotoonsadventure4905 Whoa, been a year, since you didn't reply me a comment for 6 - 7 months, but I, already found out I didn't even know I had an HDMI plug in my right side of my 4 years old laptop which last year was 3 years old, I had it worked finally back in July 18th of 2020 by plugging the cable onto where the HDMI cable goes to when someone showed me where, but when I was happy it worked, I felt like I wish I go back to July 3rd, again in 2020 last year, because I was supposed to start drawing on July 3rd and I ended up late July, because I don't know too well about HDMI and I hate it at first the way it was made like I thought there should of been just one cable plug instead of 3 just like my old wacom pen does have one cable, but now I got over it.
I used the cintiq once in a while, since it was big, but I want a small one the same size as my wacom pen on, but it did not happened so I have a small black table desk my laptop is on and with the wacom pen beside it, but when putting the cintiq on the little desk, I have to put my laptop behind the lower desk part so is my wacom intuos pen too, so my big cintiq and pen is in front of me on the higher part of my desk table behind my laptop and wacom pen, but I used my wacom a lot until maybe it stopped working which I don't know this year 2021 so then I use my cintiq often I think, because my wacom intuos is older then my cintiq.
I thought I have, already reply the comment and I don't know what happened, I was upset, because I wrote so many words like you, already read now.
@@Kawayoporu I am glad you got everything sorted! And sorry about the thing's that didnt work out, I hope you are able to make some great art with what you got! :D

For anyone using the optional stand: when it is semi-permanently mounted to the Cintiq 16, does it prevent the cable cover from opening, will you still be able to de/attach the cable easily?
My desk is small and I have little room to just set the Cintiq aside when I'm finished using it. So I wondering if I can just unplug the tablet with the same ease as without this stand?
Yes. You can access the cable with the stand attached.
@@aaronrutten Thank you, this is useful information to consider getting the stand.
+McWabbit Hello, I also have a small desk too my mom got me 10 years ago, but I have wanted a smaller wacom 16 cintig the same size as my intuos one, but said it doesn't exist right?
Do you have trouble trying to get your cintiq to work that you get no signal too?
I only plugged in the USB cable and the power cable, but I don't know what is a HDMI for, the others I have, already plugged in was my mouse stick and a ICAN file storage thing, but I don't know very well how to find the install of the driver on the website, I have a learning disability and bad at figuring it out, could you help me, please?
Hello, I'm wondering if you could possibly help me. I recently got the Cintiq 16 and I've got the driver up and running on my computer, it switches well between the displays, but applications are not showing up on my tablet. I'm trying to draw via using Sketchbook; it shows up on my computer, but won't show up on my tablet.
Drag the application to the Cintiq or designate the Cintiq as the Primary Display in display settings.
This helped me alotttt thankyou
I am looking to buy a new drawing tablet and I have been eyeing the Cintiq 16. The thing is I recently bought a screen with 2K resolution and it can display 95% Adobe of RGB . I am not sure if I should get it or if it would be a better idea to just get an intuos since i don't have the budget for the more expensive cintiqs.
That all depends on whether you think you would benefit from drawing directly onto a screen. You can always proof your work on the more accurate display.
@@aaronrutten I see, thank you very much for taking the time to reply!
this is my first time using a tablet how do I get the application to show on my Wacom, it just stays on the computer

I need a little help, I'm trying to install the system drive off of my Mac desktop, but it still won't work. Since the Mac doesn't have an HDMI port I bought an adapter to connect my tablet. It still says no signal and it won't let me download the system drive to my Wacom. Do I need any particular hardware to start up my tablet?
Without Ek remote, can I set the express menu for particular application?
Why my devices shows " No device connected" ? I tried on my two different mac pro. They also cannot be detected.
Awesome
I just bought this cintiq some days before and I'm excited to use it, but after i plugged it in to my pc and turn the power on, there is no video signal to my cintiq, test it on my friend's pc and laptop still got the same result, now i'm trying to complain this problem to the supplier, but still, this experience scares me, a lot, since cintiq, eventhough this new one is considered "economic", it still a $649 I'm spending on it :(
You plugged it into an HDMI port and it doesn't work? It needs both HDMI and USB to work.
@@aaronrutten oh sorry, forgot to mention, yes i have plugged the hdmi and the usb too, I even following your step here, but still got no signal on the cintiq, eventhough my video card and windows is detecting it , really frustrated me :(

hi i have some questions and also need some help, i just got the cintiq 16 and my monitor doesn’t have a hdmi port or usb port only a display port is it posible to connect it to my box? or would i have to buy and adaptor that has both usb and hdmi port?
Hello sir, I plan to buy the Cintiq 16 and I will probably face the same problem. Can you tell how you managed to connect the device with your pc? That'd be nice :)
If your monitor is an old model from the early millenia, it will only have VGA (looks like a small blue port with pinholes) and probably DVID (white port with pinholes)
Nowatdays most monitors have a hdmi and DP port depending on the price and specs of the monitor.
Hi! I need your help!! Do I need to conect the HDMI to the graphic card ? (Because I only have one port there and my normal computer screen is on it) or can I use the other HDMI that goes to the mother board?? I would appreciate your help. Ty!
I believe you can only use either the video card or the onboard video, but not both together. If there isn't another video port on the video card you can convert, then it's time to get a video card with multiple outputs.
@@aaronrutten ok got it, thank you for answering! :DD
Aaron i am curious if you can help me please.
I wanna get Wacom Cintiq 16, but thing is, it requires both USB and HDMI port, i got my pc in 2020, so despite being mid tier, it should have okay components.
I got 1050 Ti, nothing fancy, i don't game much anymore. It has HDMI, DVI-D and DP(i think) ports. Currently my HDMI port is occupied for my monitor.
Wanna set up 16 once i get it eventually, but i am wondering, is it fine for me to get DVI-D to HDMI adapter for my monitor, and keep monitor running like that, and once i get wacom 16, plug it's HDMI cable into 1050 Ti's HDMI port that i will have free.
i hope you can answer me and clear my confusion.
How do you use the Cinitiq 16 as a main display on an iMac.
I can’t find the STJA346 connector (the 2-in-1 connector) that allows me to use my Cintiq 2 with my computer in “Desktop Mode.” It’s sold out at Wacom. I know one side is USB and HDMI connectors, but does anyone know what the other connector type is (the one that connects to the Cintiq)? He just calls it a “flat connector” in the video. I’m trying to find an equivalent cable online. Thank you!!😊 🙏
Xin hỏi có liên kết với PC không ạ?
This is probably a stupid question but I have a laptop that isn't that great, it's max resolution on it is 1366 x 786
The tablet display that I plan to hook up to the laptop has a resolution much higher than that. Does that mean the tablet can only display a 1366 x 786 resolution
I'm not sure. I think your video card's max resolution would be the maximum for the entite system.
@@aaronrutten thanks m8 I'll look into it
I know this is a little late, but I want to reply anyway in case anyone has a similar question.
Basically a graphics tablet is treated like a fancy monitor by your PC, so your tablet’s resolution (if it’s the Cintiq 16, that’s 1920x1080) will still show up. It’s just that your tablet will be more accurate pixel-by-pixel than your laptop’s monitor is. Your graphics card does not limit your resolution in any way except perhaps making your system slower for more intensive programs at higher resolutions.

Could somebody, please tell me where the heck do you install the provided driver on wacom.com/start, because it's too many bottoms there I don't know which ones is the right one very well so I have trouble with this unlike I did install my intuos wacom one years ago just easily somewhere I think that did work, because I have a learning disability and I'm bad at figuring it out and I must of clicked the wrong one the download the 2 bottoms saying "download" to do a setting up the wacom 16 cintiq I try hard at the bottom of the page or under saying "Windows" here I went www.wacom.com/en-ca/getting-started/wacom-cintiq and then it neither look like this at 3:50, because none of the users who made the videos didn't show where to install from the website to how to where to click it, me and my mom don't know how very well, we tried to call the store and they don't know anything about it either and they say they had to bring my laptop, that is stupid, I just want to know why I get a no signal on the screen, I don't know what the heck is the HDMI for, I only plug the power and the USB cable on my laptop when I, already have others on my laptop like the mouse stick and a ICAN file storage thing that has my years of saving my favourite images from the internet, since I was 13, but don't know where to plug this stupid HDMI thing just like I don't know where to install, it's not fair, someone, please help me soon as possible, I was sad last week crying that I never gotten, already ready to draw on that new thing yet I want to have fun to try to draw on that thing desperately and I wish this new thing simply has just one cable just like my intuos wacom did has only one cable to plug, but this new thing having three plugs stinks, please help me I don't know how to get it to work very well, please please??
Oh, by the way, I had, already tried to comment about this problem the other day and nobody replies me back, please answer this time?!
Wacom may seem like a better choice but it's kinda like the apple of the digital tablet world. best at what it needs to do and almost impossible to get repaired by a 3rd party.
that is one of the reasons besides price i don't wanna get a cintiq
DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored video, but Wacom did send me this tablet for review purposes. All opinions in this review are my own.

I just wonder, can you use the tablet without the pc monitor / screen?
Hey mr Aaron please how do i send an image that i draw on the cintiq 16 to my smartphone to send on my social media
I am debating whether to get the Cintiq 16 or the 22. I already watched your videos. I'm new to digital art so I don't know how much real estate Corel Paint etc takes up. Also my laptop is a few years old (2017) it has a HDMI port, three USB-A ports, two are 2.0 and one is 3.0. Will I need to buy an adapter since I will be attaching either Cintiq to it and Cintiq is considered a display. Bravo on making easy to follow non techie speak reviews and how to videos. Look forward to hearing from you.
@@sunkissed64g It connects through HDMI and USB, so it should work.
@@aaronrutten I really value your opinion. Which display should I get the Cintiq 26 ot the 22? Do the drawing apps take up a lot of screen space? Also should I get Corel paint? Is that the one you have the tutorials for?
This thick cable is just awful.
You'd rather have 3 separate cables? Ok...
Aaron Rutten What about USB C?
@@youconstube USB-C wouldn't provide AC power, so that would still be two cables instead of one.
@@aaronrutten Batteries are the answer. And you get only one USB-C cable. Plus this adds some mobility (but the weight!!!).
You skip right over plugging in everything! Need help and visuals !
There's only 1 port that each cable can fit in: USB and HDMI. It also comes with instructions.
Aaron Rutten
There were only diagrams no real instructions . I couldn’t find a spot to plug in the fattest of the cables. And forgive me but I really lack the terminology basics .. so everything seems confusing. I think I may need an adapter or something because I couldn’t fit the other plug in the side spot on my computer . Only one fit. And the cintiq is saying it is not connected .
Aaron Rutten it’s my HDMI that won’t fit in my Lenovo lap top .. what do I do ?
@@laurahammond2122 You are correct, you will need to figure out what (if any) video inputs you have and buy an adapter to convert HDMI to whatever you have on your laptop.
Aaron Rutten
Ok
Thank you for all your replies .
To all the people complaining this is too expensive, bare in mind this is what cheap tablets were too years ago.
ua-cam.com/video/n03lGdNHshc/v-deo.html
Also the tablets 500 and under STILL don't have the same quality#
Can you make this Bluetooth or is it only wired?
