You’re always making classic, accessible flies. I especially like the return hook. I have a couple of the body punches mentioned and they are very well made albeit not cheap. Thanks Mr. Tim.
I watch various bugs when they hit the water and most of them “vibrate” rather than create a “V” wake. It’s not easy to imitate with an artificial but I get way more strikes when I get the movement correct.
A riffling hitch is a very well known way of fly fishing that grabs the attention of the trout or salmon. Before tyers imagined tying flies to do it, they left tippet tags to make that v wake. The last hatch of cicadas we had the trout were feeding so feverishly (and I was not prepared) that I was getting bites just by slamming down my wooly bugger on the surface. This is a very nice pattern, also another one for the dry dropper box, and i would also recommend checking out Loren Williams Cicada fly
That's a nice looking fly. I always enjoy tying foam body flies.

What is or where do I find that dropper bottle you keep the Hard as Nails in?
would a medium brown layer instead of orange work for the foam? I don't have orange foam.
yes, color is mostly irrelevant to a certain point
Probably, either way you can buy that stuff for under a dollar at Michael's anyways
A timely patten.
Great imitation of a "K-Dad" , or "Chicki" as some call them . . .
