Cicada Dry Fly That Will NEVER Sink! | F-22 Cicada | Fly Tying Tutorial

- In this fly tying tutorial Cheech ties the F-22 Cicada!
Cicadas are kind of big clumsy bugs with a weird profile that ends in a little point in the back. This fly uses a newer technique to add body profile without bulk. I splay the wings out on this one to give the appearance of a cicada trying to lift off. This style can be built into many other foam dry flies as well! Happy tying.

“Art-teasttt!!” It deserves the name F-22, Nice job Cheech!!!
Very cool 🤘
Cicadas with Orange eyed orange tipped wings with a black body in the Ozarks last weekend. There were so many cicadas on the water and I saw a number of trout come up and smash them but I hadn’t tied up any so I was out of luck. The noise that they made in the trees was deafening I’ve never heard it so loud.
I DESTROY with this fly!!!
What hook and size material did you use
Thank you. You'd think this would be one of the first things mentioned.
Got an F-16 fly? 😂
Great fly! I have one question the materials list calls for 3mm black high float foam, but you never mention it in the video. Where is it used?
The cicadas aren't coming they're here my friend
What a cool bug! Haven’t seen any cicadas in Northern VA yet. That means I still have time to tie some up!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Thank you for showing this pattern. I have all the materials to make this one, and it's different from the cicada patterns I've been making. I especially like the underbody and wings.
OmG THANK YOU!!!
Been waiting for this one!!
