Sam Cane, what a legend for the AB's, he's done a hard job, bloody well. And that quarter final last year, maybe his finest moment. Keep up the good work Tim, AB's tracking nicely to 2027
For all you young bucks. This is what the coaches of old use to do. Put out the best AB side every test match. When you were replaced you were likely to never play for the ABs again. You don't see super rugby teams chopping and changing week in and week out. I like this selection. Build continuity through consistent selection.
I wonder if Razor is playing full strength here to give them a taste of what it feels like to have a game where they can really express themselves against a decent opposition and then they know what they're working and building towards to try and get that against the top sides.
Don't think of this as ABs v Italy but rather another special test in the history of AB rugby. Their proud traditions will drive them to pulverise Italy as they say goodbye to a captain and to their very unique Haka leader. ABs by a landslide
I'd like to think the nz forward pack has been settled very well this year after a fair amount of upheaval after rwc23, but the 10 to 13 is a massive project for 2025. There's still a lot if depth in nz rugby generally, a lot of talent. They need opportunities tho
As a kiwi, I'm happy with the rebuilding that is going on with the AB forward pack. It's our backs that's our main problem. Primarily in positions 10, 12 & 13.
Razor has picked players from the originally named northern tour squad. A lot of players people want to play were named in the abs XV originally. People forget that being in the ABs environment is the biggest value… that’s why players like Sititi, Ratima and last weekends Lakai can step up and make impact straight away. The environment is the most important aspect to a squad.
I guess it’s only fair the Italian Fans pay and get to witness the strongest All Blacks squad, We can’t moan about France wanting to send a B team next July and then ourselves put B teams against teams like Japan,Italy,Fiji.
WERE LOVE & PEROFETA OUT ON THE TOWN with de Groot to not be selected ? Nows the chance for some Italian vino sampling at least ,with pizza and ladies along with . CIN CIN .
I am looking forward to an angry, with a point to prove De Groot in the scrums this week. His opposite number will be in for a drubbing!! Great send off for TJ and Sam Cane who deserves his final swansong. All blacks 75 - 10
I don't get it. Erasmus is giving players games to build depth. Robertson is just wheeling out the same old players. Why isnt Proctor at centre for a starter? Why aren't Jordan Love and Steven Perofeta playing or on the bench? They should be starting at FB and maybe at 10. Really disappointed not to see more young players get a chance. Sorry Tim, but this is where Robertson is not cutting it. A B team would beat Italy. Really poor selections.
Sam cane suffered concussion and had a deep cut requiring stitches. He has proved himself as a stop gap this year. Great players know when to step aside for the new up and comers. What possible need is there for him to play against Italy? Razor afraid to lose against Italy? Ruben love is a potential first five who also plays fullback. What is the continual perseverance with Havilli? This guy seems to be on a free trip. Looking forward to 2025 and seeing more potential allblacks getting some game time.
Italy get a try from some proper play and not just an interception or NZ error or keeping Kiwis under 50 would be progrsss. They have shown ability at times this year to be able to bring it to them but the Georgia game was a good warning not to hold my breath.
Tupaea clearly a better 2nd five than Havili..hits hard..runs direct..soft hands..dint forget one us a test against SA a few years by jackling over the ball.
Scot Robinson still hasn't sorted it out all this changing the team and first five has prevented them from really going forward, Bauden Barrett under pressure is not the man at first five
thing is Tim we have a massive inferiority complex when it comes to the ABs, yes most teams do especially in the north, but we in particular having never even come close to beating them
@@karllincoln6859 I REALISE they are down to their last 4 official loosies with Finau out, but I would've left Savea out of the 23 ( player welfare and all that ), and rewarded Kirifi for a stellar performance with the Hurricanes & Wellington , and the fact he was capped a few years ago, with a deserved return to the AB ranks . Also so he can show he is up to international standard with a view towards next year .
@@jeremydow1432I don’t know bro Ardie played in Japan 1st half of year never injured key man on team and finishing strong is really important to boys from what I have seen .. plenty of time next year full super season and then internationals
Well done to Italy for stifling the ABs game plan, terrible handling and discipline from the ABs, Razor still playing players that should have been put out to pasture years ago.

It’s a stronger team than what played the French, and I for one love it - let’s go 💯
I think it might be closer than you think. But not sure, thanks for another great vid Tim!
Totally agree about Razors selection. A bit insular picking. He seem sentimental about certain players.
Spot on as usually Tim.

Kieran Read captained between McCaw and Cane, Tim.

That is a serious serious ABs team for Italy 🙆🏾♂️ I see a 35 points difference to the ABs

Billy Procter left for NZ 3 weeks ago because his partner was giving birth. Not to sure about Love and Perofeta

Everyone is writing Italy off but I think they have a real chance to win this match.
All they need to do, is to score more points than New Zealand
🤣🤣🤣
Give them a chance nz only allowed 2 points per try, no conversion allowed. italy 7 points per try and 4 for conversion. That should even it up😂

The weather report isn't very promising. There might be some snow on the pitch. That would have an impact...
I think rieko been out of form in at least the last 5 matches but man ive seen him play well.

Agree. Forwards are looking great but I think a different midfield will finish 2025.

Maybe Negri over Sititi. Much more experienced and a great player
