Which team had the most players in the top 10 selections, who had the most front rowers, the most backs and which team had more than one player selected for the same position Etc. This would paint a picture of where each team is in terms of it's positional and overall strengths. It may also give us an indication wether the best individual players are the bulk of the best team. Jesse is super solid and ridiculously consistent. His defence is the best there is right now but I'd still like to see Am given more of a chance again. As good as Jesse is now, he still doesn't come close to pre-injury Am and I'd love to see some work put in to get Am back there because it would elevate the team. Still amazing to have Kriel in case that doesn't happen😅
Excellent list ! Having both Kriel and De Allende can help winning some games, especially when you have Pollard too! At the moment the best next 6 Nations pair seems to be Tuipolotu/Jones. Henshaw/Ringrose are not far but maybe a little less explosive. Lawrence/Stade is a great combo. Curious to see hiw Brex/Gesi is doing for Italy. Since Danty/Fickou are out at least for the first games France has to build up something new. If Galthié is conservative, we should have Deporteere/Moefana but maybe the time has come for Barassi from Toulouse. Thankbyou for your posts !

Lawrence is the only Northern hemisphere player, left that gets into either top 10 list, so he's first backup. Scotland and Ireland. If England beat them, will that status quo change? This is why I think there should be a second announcement with players been added to the original 38, on the Sunday, after the first England/Argentina test for another 15 to 23 players to cover tge last 2 midweek games and have a shot to play in the 3rd test. You would base this on player form from the Premiership/URC/Champions Cup quarter finals to final and the first international test in the summer tours. Otherwise, you are picking, holiday makers and Geography 6 players.
Can you remove historic form and just base on current form. What’s the point of ranking players who aren’t currently performing or playing international rugby consistently.

It can only be curtains if the curtains are forced down my brother. You can't reach another gear if you are not being given enough game time or being played out of position.

Notice in the Argie test that SA lost, that every single try scored by SA had Am stepping in as play maker in the lead up to the try. Even for the quick tap that Reinach scored from, Am sent it wide but they came back because no advantage had accrued. Against England at Twickenham, Handre came on and shortly afterwards, Luki replaced Damian, not Jesse.

He's being played out of position and he hasn't been played enough to rediscover any type of form. 4 matches. 1 against Argentina at 12 with a somewhat second string side forward pack, another with a second string side against Portugal, and off the bench at 12 again in the Autumn nation. And 1 full match against Scotland that also had a lot of fiddling around in the forward pack.
I'll keep saying this, there was no reason for Jesse to play all those matches and minutes. The only reason is because he lost his place to AM when got injured, and i think there is a fear that it might happen again if AM gets a look in. Poor guy now has to play out of position, or only play at 13 with a second string side.
Agreed about the minutes. I think it's more of a strategy to ease Am into things and take care with his physical condition because he has a bit of an injury issue generally. I do think Am in proper form is a class above any other 13 on the planet.
@christopherburke2082 I'm just sceptical dude, AM played both 12 and 13 against Portugal for almost 80min and was fantastic! I think that means he's physically fine. Tim said Jessie played almost the full 80min for 11 matches! That's a bit unreasonable don't you think? Especially when the next guy is just as good as you.
@sikhothomas4746 trouble is that if Boks are playing the 6/2 split there's no room on the bench for Am so he getting his return from I jury gametime in 2nd string sides or outta position. Am before the injury was 🔥 🔥 🔥. He's now had a lot of niggles.
