A year ago I remember thinking about the twins turning one. I saw those sweet, tiny babies fighting in the NICU and imagined what life would look like in a year. Let me tell you.. it is exactly like I pictured it. Two happy, healthy one year olds eating cake together and opening gifts. I wish Colleen and Erik could have seen this video a year ago. The twins have truly come so far and it’s hard to believe a year has passed already. Happy birthday to the sweetest, funniest, and most adorable little cutie bugs!!🐞🐛
What a sweet and perfect message to capture how we all felt! This is exactly what was in my mind. They’re so happy and adorable and wonderful and so healthy now, and I just know that if Colleen and Erik saw this video a year ago, they would be overjoyed with happiness and relieved that their cute little babies are gonna be okay. Can’t believe they’re already 1! A very sweet and happy belated birthday to little miss Maisy and cute little Wesley!! 🥳🥳

This is just a suggestion and if it’s too traumatic for you totally get it, but as a NICU nurse I just know that your former NICU nurses would LOVE to see/get some photos from the twins birthday! We remember the kiddos we care for and seeing them growing up with chubby cheeks and smiles just absolutely makes our day 🥰 Happy Birthday Twins!!!!

Yes! I love the sweet relationships between Koko & the kiddos! I also wanted to see Koko all dressed up in his assigned cat costume from gabby’s with the rest of them on “Halloween”!

As a twin sister with a twin brother, this video surprisingly made me emotional. Hearing you sing and say both Wesley and Maisy's names made me remember how special it is to be a twin and share these moments with such a special sibling.

My baby bug (that’s what we call him, his name is Lucas) was born September 25 because I was induced 2 weeks early but I was pregnant with you for so many months and watched your vlogs and podcast during all my 12a/2a/4a feedings

Colleen trust me, one day the twins birth video will be a happy video just like Flynn’s. The trauma will still be there but your reaction to it will change. At least mine did. I had three very traumatic births which I struggled to even talk about for a while. As my kids grew and I came to accept my births for what they were, beautiful experiences that brought me the amazing kids I have now, I began to change the way I felt when remembering and talking about them. I really hope that makes sense. ❤

Just a bit of advice, as sweet as it is to get Flynn a gift as well, as Flynn gets older it will be a good idea to stop doing that. He’s going to expect a gift for him at everyone’s birthday, even his friends when he starts school. Then may throw a tantrum when he doesn’t get his way. Just tread carefully lol

Flynn was so content that it was his siblings birthday with no expectations and being so willing to help them was EVERYTHING
EVERYTIME WITHOUT FAIL his siblings were getting ANY type of attention he MADE SURE to go exactly where they were and take it for himself
@@NN-ik1xc but this is what eldest siblings do. They have done since the Dawn of time. When new babies come along and you have been everything to your parents it’s a big blow to a child’s confidence

@@clairehawkes1112 and thats totally whatever but the adults that are allowing him to take their love affection and attention on the one day that’s supposed to be about someone else isnt right at all but it’s all good when the babies grow up actually and they can see for themselves who everyone really is they will make their own choices since “Flynn is the favorite” and maisy and wess are just outcasts and aperantly Flynn matters way more than any human that’s related to him

I took me almost 7 years before I could talk about my prems birth without having tears in my eyes. So I can totally relate. I could even hear the machine sounds from the hospital without my tummy sinking and an extreme sense of dread. Now my son is eight and has been thriving for a very long time. But it is so weird how we ever in a million years would of thought it would affect us as it does. Sending lots of love. Your babies are beautiful I just love watching you. I admire you. ❤

I was just telling my bf this morning how excited I am for them to be 1! And we were watching yesterday's vlog and he saw Flynn during the magic cat part and said "woah, he's getting big" it was such a wannabe dad moment. I can't wait for us to have kids so we can experience all of these cute things together.

I can't believe it's been a year! I'm not a mom but last year I remember crying with you in your car on the way to see the babies or at your home without them there. I cried bc I wish my mom cared for me half as much as you care for your angels . It's ok bc I'll make sure to do my best in treating my future babies as best they deserve
I cannot believe it has been a year since the twins were born. Colleen - I so admire your strength, resilience, and compassion throughout this year. Your ability to be a strong mama for the twins and also make Flynn feel so special and included is otherworldly. The way Erik looks at Colleen and Maisey interacting and the way he plays with Wesley!! Erik's the father I wished I had honestly. The love in his eyes and the love in his heart is so much and you're both doing a fabulous job raising the munchkins!!
I can't grasp how they are already one. I remember being in uttershock when you uploaded the birth video and cried for weeks when they were in the NICU. It hit very hard because I was in the NICU as a baby. Happy Bday Maisy and Wes!!

@hallie i think saying “it’s clear” is a bold statement considering we only get 15 mins out of their days. there are 2 babies, 1 toddler, & one colleen. none of us know what goes on behind the scenes, but i think what’s clear is none of their children are unhappy, unloved, or neglected.

To see someone who I look up to so much show your support for marginalised people is incredible.
It has been a privilege to watch you grow from the talented, young woman who was having her first niece and nephew into being the formidable mother of 3 you are now. As a young woman who grew up in a traditional, religious family, who I love so much 1) I did a lot of crafts and 2) women like Dylan were almost never mentioned and absolutely never supported. To see you speak out on issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, the black community and the Jewish community is truly amazing.

My twins were born at 32 weeks like yours. They were taken to a different hospital from me and I didn’t get to see them for 2 days except for a couple minutes before they were taken away to go to the children’s hospital. You just met them in Fresno and they are 18! Blows my mind every single year lol ❤

Colleen I really appreciate you talking about your birth and NICU experience. I had a very similar experience earlier this year and my son is still in and out of the PICU. Hearing you talk about your first day with them is so reminiscent of my first day with my son as well. Everyone talks about how meeting your babies is the best day of your life and that is true in the sense that I was so overjoyed and filled with love to be meeting him but it was also the scariest and most traumatic day of my life. Hearing you talk about how hard it was makes me feel less alone. Thank you so much.

@@miah-jean29 that's when you teach your kids that on their own birthdays they will receive presents. If not Flynn will expect to receive presents on each and every one of the twins birthdays. He needs to learn that the twins birthday is their special day. Just like his birthday is his special day.
