- This is the official trailer of the 2020 documentary which charts the life and death of Teesside hard man and gangster, Lee Duffy.
The documentary entitled "Lee Duffy - too far, too soon" has contributions from Lee Duffy's friends, associates, prison cell mates, victims, and even police officers who had dealings with him.
Lee Duffy was one of the most feared men in the North East of England until his reign of terror came to a brutal end in 1991.

Taxing, bullying, drug taking and double crossing has put Lee duffy, vic Graham, pat tate, tony tucker, paul massey ,Bradley Welch and countless others in a grave. They never last too long .The toughest men in the graveyard
Tucker would have been destroyed with ease by the others
These people dont need other people to destroy them. They all destroy themselves with greed and they end up lying in a pine box before their time is due
@@stuart1404 yeh but what about Will?
Need to have the will to live. When you go down the road of being a drug fueled bully then there is a very high chance that it wont end up good.Big for healthy guys destroying themselves with stupidity when there was a good life out there for them

Who?
This is a bit strange to find. I was friends and work colleagues with Lee's brother, Lawrie, long after all of this (ten years ago, I guess). I knew that Lee had a reputation, but I assumed it was just a north-east reputation, and not a UA-cam-video-about-his-life reputation. Weird. Should anyone be wondering... Lawrie also had a tough up-bringing and by all accounts did some nasty things, but at some point he had some kind of spiritual awakening and ended up setting up a charity called Hope North East to help people in addiction recovery in Middlesbrough. I was a volunteer there for about five years. Lawrie did some really great work. Truly. He was certainly a work in progress (aren't we all), but he was a man dedicated to growing and to being of service to others, as best as he knew how. I lost touch with him and I believe he passed a few years ago. Middlesbrough has a very dark under-belly. There is no romance in any of this. Just a lot of pain for a lot of people. But I want people who read this to know that from that darkness came some light.
Yeh sunlight came when sum1 put a shiver through him
How did Lawrie pass away ??? What happened to him ?
Alot of people on here seem to have trouble understanding the fact that this is an interesting subject for alot of people, real crime is fascinating, from the krays to Jimmy Savile, from Ted Bundy to great train robbers, lee Duffy's story seems a hell of an interesting one and I can't wait for this new documentary. The theme on here seems to be , he was this......he was that...... here's the thing, their ALL this......their ALL that , everyones got different takes on all these infamous characters and what they got up to and hearing about it all is great for people who are interested.....that's all
Well said Karl well said.
I agree with all of your comments
He knocked out 5 travelers that were only there to tarmac his front drive
Thats for ripping me off, mind reader!!
I've met lotta harder men than him but we keep it quite and won't have to brag sounds like were he came from there wasn't many tough guys to take him on. Jim from north east Scotland.
No credit for this comment.😂👌👍
🤣🤣🤣

My pals from the boro tell me he was nothing more than a liberty taking Bully and the town was glad to see the back of him.
Im from just along the road from Boro and youre not wrong mate he was a habitual liberty taker with everybody.
Yea he was probably these things but in South Bank were he was born and bread he was a legend a hard man with an extremely bad and ruff up bringing, He was a bad man but he also had good in him he robbed the drug dealers and give to the poor from what I remember wen I was a kid. He looked after his own US south bankers will remember him for many years to come
@#ProudWhiteMan OK mate
Nobody had balls to say anything to him lol my uncle used to know him personally he was a bully that’s for sure. Complete savage tho most people that mouth about him wouldn’t have the courage to say it to him face to face and that’s fact in boro
Defo mate. He robbed the bullys and bullied the bullys also they don’t remember the good.. RIP LEE DUFFY you saw the whole of the moon
I don't believe a word these guys say!!!
They make out he's a monster or was,
But people around him say different!!!
No doubt he could handle himself but lots of the stories are just to sell books or documentary
Can’t wait looks really good Iam honestly excited
Stockwell u wanker is it true Brian knocked on door looking for lee and u did a number 2 ?
Wasnt he in Boyzone?
😂😂😂
👏👏👏😆😆😆😆
You call him a bully bit a bully is someone who only hits weak defenceless people who he knows he can beat now are we saying this guy knew he could beat everyone cos nobody bullied the likes of viv graham and brian cockerill he had some big names running scared amd he did most of this alone i think he had a thirst for violence a bully is a total different thing
You are always going to get people saying "why are we glorifying scum" etc. We are not glorifying them. We just want to know what happened.
No just parasites making money from his name . Wonder how much money Lee Duffy family will receive.😏
@@thebeast2746 I dont think that is the case. I know from experience that the people who do these books, documentaries are the biggest fans of the subject matter there is. The object is not to make money but to revel in the subject matter and produce a piece of work that does justification to the subject. The subject matter I.e. Lee Duffy would have loved the notoriety and publicity - to think his name is living forever. Someone is only truly dead, when noone remembers them at all.

People like that end up like that ... I've been on the end of nasty bullies while growing up, but I didn't go around doing what he did. He sounded like a nasty piece of work. Good riddance
Live by the sword you die by the sword...good riddance!

4 punches bang bang bang
That Leonardo ain't half let himself go 😮😂😂😂
From stories I’ve heard growing up in Middlesbrough he was a bit of a bully but also done a lot of good for the community at the same time. All the people who talk shit about him in the comments wouldn’t even have looked in his direction. He might not have been a role model but one things for sure he’s left a mark on Teesside because his name is still talked about 30 years later.
So is jack the rippers name still talked about
A..e licker.😂
Loving the background music ... this will be huge!!!
I heard he pulled the wings off a bird for stealing the cream off his milk on the door step.
Now then Now then. Whos the old fella from newcastle🤣
Four punches “ bang” “bang” “bang” lol
Bang, there you go
I heard he hit Frank Dux with a Dim Mak on the top of his head in the final at the Kumite and Dux Nutts exploded!
🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂
He was Tanaka 😜
😂😂😂😂
Every man dies, some become legends........ Regardless of what he may or may not have really been like, this man made an impact on Teeside like nobody before or after. I neither glorify or slander him because I didn't know him, but growing up as a kid in the Boro when Lee Duffy was at his peak, everybody knew OF him.
True crime will always have followers and judging by the comments both positive and negative this mans legend is still very much alive, many years after his death. Probably every single one of us posting on here will die and within a year other than close family, nobody will remember us.........
People still talk about this guy. I live in Thailand now and every now and again I will meet someone in their late 40s early 50s from say Newcastle or Leeds, we get talking and they say "Did you know Lee Duffy?".......
I am intrigued and interested about the man, why he became who he became, how and what drove that fearless energy to fight anyone and everyone. To go to the likes of Newcastle ON YOUR OWN looking for Viv Graham takes absolute balls of steel, and regardless of whether he was labelled a bully, that alone proves he was also absolutely fucking fearless.
Someone else commented that gangsters always attract interest, like the Krays etc. That's because regardless of whether they are good guys or bad guys, something in our human psyche kind of wishes we could be like them - REMEMBERED, MEMORABLE, as opposed to living a life of obscurity and fading away into a distant memory.
I don't like or dislike Lee Duffy, but I am intrigued by the kind of life he led and his short but very turbulent story. How much is exaggerated or how much positive and negative spin is put on it by those for or against him we never know, but what we do know is, it is a hell of a story none the less.
He could empty a pub/night club in minutes
Very well put Steven. U have explained everything I've been saying about him in a few paragraphs
So many idiot trolls on here keyboard warriors make me sick , can’t wait for the film 😍😍😍
Any truth in the story of grangetowner mark johnson giving him a good hiding and duffy not wanting seconds ?
loved and hated in equal measures, but its a fact there will never be another lee duffy. a true one off
Go to any traveller site in east London and you will see a few Lee Duffys
@@acceleratefx5966 true theres lads down here with the same reputation as lee I know of teenagers who knock bouncers out for fun and people mistake fear for power and loyalty most council estates hold one off fighters who can bang the real big times tou never hear about they keep in the dark
@@thecarpfather5757 a lot of teenage lads who you don’t hear of who are truly good fighters, Morgan Lyon from hull 19 year old if I’ve got that right, tough tough kid and a decent boxer, seen him down the gym sparring etc. Johnny marton from Liverpool is a true fighting lad 19 years old but will have it with any man
Why do people worship these bullies 🤔
He looks like Tyrone off Corrie
Give him his due was a hard man in the Boro. Wouldn’t of lasted 2 minutes in Brixton. Be Shot dead after his first bully boy mission.
K M exactly pretty much a nobody anywhere except where he was
Or bummed
The whole of the north east knew exactly who he was back in the day shame u southerners needed weapons though eh instead of fists.
Everyone gives it “ he wouldnt last a day in my town” HOW THE FK DO YOU KNOW???
Yeah cos it’s like that down there using weapons bet no 1 in Brixton would fight him fist to fist tho a toddler could pull a trigger not hard is it don’t make you a hard man
No exactly a high achiever was he .
The duffer was out with the boro front line helping it the hooligans and ge smashed up a few leeds heads one was in a bad way and one lost an eye.Years down the line apparently his daughter had an accident and lost vision in an eye it's mad how life works really sometimes your past can cone back to haunt ya.
Heard it all before.
More small time "I can beat you up" nonsense.
I do enjoy watching and reading about these past Hardmen but it only ends one way, unless they use their brains instead then their still here. If u make yourself a problem it normally ends bad.
Duffy is from Irish strength 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️
Edd 1 Duffy is an Irish name ya brain dead jackein
Carnt argue with that Duffy is a ver Irish name mate
Yes mate.Salute from Italy, the irish people are tought fighters, i m big fan of Conor McGregor too.

Reading mixed reviews on duffy never knew him but no matter whether you like him or not 1 thing is for sure he made an impact on teesside and he will be remembered long after most of us are gone live fast die a legend I suppose
Cliff field is the man make a doc on him too
I remember Cliff when I lived in Dunstable. He could really box & stopped Lenny McLean twice. Roy Shaw called Cliff the real guvnor.
711honved do you know my grandad then? Tony datlen?
@@The_Ordinary_Bloke I would see Cliff around when out with my pal Mick Beary. Mick was a former boxer from Cricklewood & boxed for the Army before settling in Dunstable in the 1960's. Mick was older than me & knew all the old Dunstable/Luton characters. I wonder if your grandad recalls him? Sadly, Mick passed away two years ago.
Been waiting on something like this

Are there any photos of him with Brian Cockerill? The taxman makes out like they were best pals but seen nothing of them together
@whip understandable how Duffy met his maker. But listening to Cockerill youd swear he was 100x worse!! How did Cockerill survive?
Sounds a bit like a northern ‘pat tate’
A penniless Pat Tate
What is the music called used in this? Fantastic
Where can I find the full documentary
Not to bring up old stories, but who would win out of Duffy and Bewick? Did they ever meet? I don't think they did.
How long now till released cant wait
What I've learned from UK hard men is your life is incredibly hard. People constantly trying to kill you can't be fun at all.
Look do t agree with what he did but there is nothing wrong with been interested in his story I imagine non of you agree with what epstien did but most of you would have watched the documentary hypocrites !!
The 80’s and 90’s were great times when fist fighting and reputation was everything among lads.
Such big head surprised nobody could knock him out? Or was his head made of concrete?
Why has the release date been put back to January 2021 according to IMDb
He was jus a bad bully
So that's the end of his life ,everyone else is still going about there business as usual, life is to short as it is so why throw it away so quick
No matter who ya we're, ufc, boxing champ etc ... Lee Duffy connects on ya chin ya going 2 sleep ... FACT !
Unless it's Martyn Ford
When is the documentary out has it been put bk
His mum and dad defo brother and sister
He was a father aswell
Looks interesting maybe his talent for fighting should of been pursued more in the ring and not in the seedy world of crime as he might of been alive today. Who knows.
He’s known for taking sly jabs at doormen when they weren’t looking. Nothing to write home about. Every small town has a bully like him.
That music....goosebumps
When is this out
fk the krays - this guy was the real deal
Did the film get released ?
Where can I watch this
4 punches bang bang bang
lol yeah 4 gypsies showed up at his door and he knocked the 5 of them out
@@scott6926 fight stories always get exaggerated so just imagine something that happened 15 years ago. All bollox tbh.
Whens this being released ??
Jake M it’s being released in November
They all become famous after they die. Or the ones alive tell stories about them, or stories about encounters with other people, who are dead. Bottom line i dont see what all the videos are about with this guy, so he could have a go, taxes drug dealers, so what, theres guys doing that all over, this guy isnt something new, or different, hes just dead and shrowded in myth and stories from a small city area. Thats it
Congratulations to the man at 2.00 minutes . He certainly doesn't look or sound like the type to be able to count to 5
Looking forward to this!
Woo what a punch 😂

I remember having a go to with Duffy back in guildford about 1988.I brayed him over the head with a French stick and threw him in the river.
This man was a terrible bully and terrorized people. Enough of the romanticism
Love him or hate him the lad was bullied himself which seemed to have affected him mentally .He seemed to be on a mission to iron out anyone who stood in his way or seemed a threat. But he never had the chance to change because he was tragically killed r.i.p Lee.
I think he did on the 3 chances of he life trying to be taken from him but he carried on. So yeah I think you’re wrong

He was abandoned in the middle of Marton rd , bleeding to death!!!!if he was loved, for sure they would take him to Hospital in time. Nobody deserves to die like that, but he was living in borrowed time.

Does anyone know if any of Lee's mates ever went after Allison and his cowardly mates at the time for what happened that night.
two of them are dead now, Lee King and Richie Neal. Lee King blown away by Keith McQuade in Parkend, Middlesbrough. Allison was stabbed in Rome back in 2005, he survived.
Cockerill gave Allo a severe beating but Allo accepted it. Lighting a candle for a man you killed every year is not the act of someone who is proud of what happened, as said by Terry. Things are made too black and white with stuff like this. The reason Cockerill survived is because he was heavy, heavy stuff, with scores of doormen backing him up. The hammer house of horrors is all that needs known. 99/100 people would have been dead after that.
When's it out?
Th guy said 4 punches bang bang bang lol forgot the final bang x
Hate people like that , but if he wud of lived to old age he would of been getting battered every week,,, people like that always get what they give ,,, it's karma !!!

Just another "Live By The Sword" story
Exactly......there’s always bigger cats in the jungle
Sounds a decent spud lol
looks alot better than the whole of the moon dvd I watched the other month learnt more of clips like this than i did of the documentary
I don't understand why we care about this bloke ? he was just thug, he wasn't a hero, or don't you know that ?
I hope other kids don't go round punching other kids for no reason to be the next duffer.no affence..
Why the fuck does know one know when this programme is on
Hate him or love him, you can’t help but be fascinated by what he did in such a short space of time. There will be no more men like Duffy again, that’s what makes him so interesting.
Why no more?
There will always be men like that. Tough men who train and take steroids and who for some the strength and power go to their heads and they think they are unbeatable.
They're ten a penny. Go to any town and there's a Lee Duffy
