Real Talk... As a kid, I remember going ice skating at the Omni. Afterwards, you would go to the video game room, then visit McDonald's on your way to the train station to go home.

Watching this clip reminds of every area shown on it. I was 13 years old in 1979, and I remember these areas well. The scenes of the Omni reminds me of the Atlanta Child Murders. Practically victim is connected to the Omni.

In April of '79, my wife (a native of Georgia) and I (native of Indiana) moved to the Sandy Springs (Atlanta) area. I worked for over half a year at the prescription shoe store, McMahan Shoes in the downtown area. I have memories well established in my mind of those Atlanta beginnings for us. My wife worked for 40 years at Atlanta Gas Light Company.
Even though I had relatives on my mother's side living in the Atlanta area, the town itself was very different from Indy to me. In 45 years, it's been "home" to us and has greatly changed in many ways...not as "fun" as it use to be, let alone the early 70's and throughout the 1960's which was fun to visit many times.

Hi Guy, I grew up in Atlanta, and I agree with you, the city has changed big time. as a native of Atlanta, I saw the city and surrounding areas change. Politically, socially changes were by far the most profound changes that occurred. some good and some not so good, but all in all we are still here. by the way, I too worked for Atlanta Has Light Co for 25 years.
