i don't get why people make fun of the ibanez names. They're the most sensible out there, every letter is there for a reason. case in point: RGAIX6FM: RG shape, A = Archtop, I = Iron label, X = fiXed bridge, 6 strings, FM = flame maple, and tgf is the color (transparent gray flat).
And this is so sensible that I never had to search for this info, I just spent some time looking at the guitars and noticed the patterns in the names.
Just a few letters tell me so much about the guitar, instead of having to search the web for differences between countless models that are often hard to find.
Francesco B. I completely agree cheers!
Holy shit lol mind blown 😵
They're exactly like Nissan in the late 80's-early 2k's. Long letter/number names that actually make sense if you learn the designations.
Well some brand just earned my respect.
unfortunately, not every model follow these rules, so I get why sometimes it may seem inconsistent and frustrating. Many RG guitars only have a model number like 8820, 3370 and so on. But still most of them keep some letters that have a meaning, like Z (edge bridge with Zero point system) or R (reverse headstock). But sometimes FX means fixed bridge instead of just the X, so yeah... it's a bit inconsistent. The letters are most useful when there are two models that are very similar to each other, so the differences in the name usually tells you where they differ.
Watching other people buy guitars is not like watching other people have sex. There's more jealousy involved that I'm not equipped to deal with.
Ok you've won the internet. There isn't a single sane person that wouldn't agree with you
Captain Lee, I absolutely LOVED your comment “I don’t think I know enough about it to have an opinion about it”. I wish more people were this self aware!
🔥🔥
Even more refreshing a year later!
It's cute to watch them doing precisely what we all do for a change: scrolling the homepage and salvating over pictures and specs, reading reviews and all that.
8:30 It sounds like Lee is trying to play Holy Diver for the first time :D
Schecter are really starting to sell themselves to me a bit more these days, with refreshing body/headstock designs and top dolla finishes 👌🏻
I hate the new designs personally, especially the whole natural thing theyre doing now and the new Keith Merrow models... i love their hellraisers and anything like that though
That’s fair enough dude, I guess I just prefer things not looking so typically metal, makes a change! The hell raisers are lovely also though

This is a link to an imgur album of my Schecter. I inherited it from my grandmother and it is amazing.
I still love my Damien Elite 6-string I got several years ago. I just like Schecters in general because you just don't see them very often (compared to Jacksons, Ibanezes etc.)
Schecter has been killing it for the last few years honestly. Those reapers and CR-6's play amazing for their price point. Easily feel like they're worth more
Rob: backs off gain
Me/Lee: *_WAHT???_*
Rob has said many times he's more a bluesy type than a gainy type...
11:05 if you want to verify. I think this is the one of the last signs we're approaching the apocalypse.
what bugs me is Rob always plays with drop D tuning.. I prefer playing in natural tuning so I get a bit miffed when he automatically tunes the low E to a D.. it actually grates on my nerves.. and I find myself thinking "omg here we we go again, bloody drop D tuning".. arghhh!!
These companies have really been stepping up their game in the finish department on their affordable range. I've never been an Ibanez fan, but MAN they have got some *gorgeous* finishes coming out! Schecter has always emphasized nice finishes, and continues to push our beautiful builds with economic responsibility.
I've owned several Schecter guitars and basses....for the money,,they really can't be beat .. excellent build quality, killer tone,,,sleek , modern looks...I'm definitely a huge fan 🤘🔥
I have a matte black c-6 & a redish colored Omen-6 on Layaway currently! I can't wait until I have them in my possession! I grew up playing a Westone Spectrum LX 198-mbk & to this day I cannot find another guitar to match its quality for a reasonable price. Under 1 paycheck.
i like the schecter's sound the best, the ibey looks the best, and i wish I liked the jackson the best. I've never played a schecter that wasn't miles beyond whatever price tag it had.
agreed. I got my wife a Daisyrock & it was awesome right out if the box. I found out Schecter makes them.
Tone and feel my schecter pisses all over my Ibbys
Schecters look nice but back in the numetal days when they really got their following they sounded kinda bad. They werent consistent. But i think they have made leaps. Dont they build the wylde audio guitars?
@@BigTyronie agree with you. And yes they do
i have a schecter diamond series hell raiser its amazing
After watching it and possibly every video with Rob at full gain, possibly the Jackson is the best ever. Looks like nothing can beat a Jackson at full drive.
Anyone else think that Ibanez guitar names actually make a lot of sense? Like you pretty much know exactly what you're getting just from the name
The wifi passcode names are actually very intuitive, if it's an rg1070pbz I know pretty much exactly what I'm getting just by the name, same with an rg470ahm, or almost anything else
No
I got a shecter sun valley and it’s one of the best playing and feeling guitar. I was blown away by the quality.
The Schecter looks amazing actually... They really are putting their best foot forward these days and building real quality for value.
really unique and beautiful finish on that model...
LTD vs Epiphone vs PRS singlecuts for metal
right? those are good options too
And esp
Agreed, I want to see a video for single cuts for metal
With Ibanez ART and Cort Zenox too

I recently bought a Schecter Omen . Black gloss . Gothic inlays. Absolutley stunning and just feels so great in the hand.
My wallet says Jackson, my heart says Ibanez, but my hands say Schecter.
Buy a Solar Guitar, sad not to see one here..
What do your ears hear ?

As someone who lived in Shanghai, then Hong Kong and now back in England....loved this chat. Agree with Rob’s points too.
Bought a Schecter SLS Elite C-7 last month. Totally a fan boy now. Built with the quality of ESPs
If made in "South Korea", they're made under the same roof (Schecter, PRS SE, LTD, Chapman Guitars, Jackson, Variax, and many OFF Brands are made in this factory)
The South Korea factory has a sister factory in Indonesia. And yes some LTD'S are made in China, and I won't go there. And yes, the main ESP brand is primarily in Japan just as the main Schecter brand is made in the USA.
G.S. Carlos - ESP is Japanese made. LTD is the (primarily) Korean /WMIC product.
"Korea looks like a part of a Japan" is probably something I wouldn't say out loud after reviewing a bit of history :D !
At what point did he say that?
I mean yeah definitely not an intelligent thing to say out loud especially when you build your guitars in Korea so he should have known better but he meant it in the way that both countries look very modern with the highest technology being available in both places (at least in the cities)
@@ryanson5858 30:28
USA is a part of the Great Britain!
Because Japan burnt S. Korea to the ground. Stationed there in the 80s and the word Japan would get you mobbed back then….. Koreans haven’t forgotten the war with Japan. Took them years to grow back foliage and trees in many locations.
After testing many many brands, Schecter owns the best feeling and sound by far. The one time I sold my Schecter, I regretted until I got another Schecter Platinum Series. Just killer.
i can watch you guys chill and shred different axes all day
"What's a band, Rob?"
Lee, speaking to 85% of his customer base there 🤣
The dark tone that makes the Jackson sound lifeless and dull on the cleans is EXACTLY what makes it sound *so great* when distorted.
Different tools simply suit different jobs.
I've given up the idea of getting "one guitar to do everything".
I've come to welcome the different qualities of different instruments. ♥️
And then there is the Tele that does it all 😎 Metal included

Exactly. I have my Dinky for that Megadeth Rust in Peace thrashing tone. My Ibanez, for the Surfing with an Alien shredding. My ESP for the Metallica Chug rhythm power.
0330 on a Saturday night / Sunday morning, here I am watching the gents play guitars I’d never buy, what is happening to my life? I don’t like shreddy guitar music particularly, I don’t play guitar (I’m a drummist & bass player), I just seem to have become addicted to watching two blokes talk about something they clearly enjoy.
More GoPro, its commentary is enlightening. 😂
finally some old andertons! these challenges is what brings in views. I remember these and still watch these on robs channel from years ago
Schecter everytime. Outstanding guitars.
I got a Solo-II Hellraiser and C7 SLS Elite.
There‘s quite nothing like it. And let me tell you, I‘ve tried many, many other models in various price regions. Schecter is just perfect.
I just learned recently about them, had no idea who they were…now I‘m a die hard fan boy. Sorry Gibson, but you lost me.
Once a Schecter, always a Schecter.
I really wish you would add a better filtering feature on your website. It would be really cool to be able to find the perfectly speced guitar based on my filter. Just to give you an example:
Fretboard wood, body wood, bridge type, pick-up configuration, amount of strings, body type, top wood, number of frets, binding, bolt on or set neck, etc.
I know you have some of these features already, but even more in depth filtering would be awesome!
It's a website not a personal one to one service. If that is the level of service you want then pay the big bucks to meet them in person at an hourly rate.
they wouldnt sell as many guitar that way. but im with u all guitar online shops should do this :) 100%
I've always liked the more traditional style guitars and have never been into the more "metal" but hearing that Jackson absolutely blew me away and I'm probably gonna get one in the near future
I just got mine last week, and at 51, I'm not a shredder (sounds like a cheese) but more blues-y... but I love my Js11 Dinky in white. Sorry no videos of it yet sadly... :(
Cheers mate <

I love these types of comparison videos. Funny editing to
That Schecter sounds awesome on UA-cam. No idea how they compared in person.
I had two Gibsons, an Ibanez and an Epiphone in my posession, tried many ESP‘s, even more LTD‘s and all the other names of the game at least once.
Now I own two Schecters and none of the rest. That should tell you enough.
They are perfect in every kind of way. I don‘t know why they sell them so brutally cheap but for sure they shouldn‘t.
"...and take a selfie of myself..."
Anyway, that tone at 35:19 is really nice. Nice playing too! The last thing I expected was Lee to tap! Haha!
Oh are you reffering to not coil tapping and tapping on the neck. That was awesome, it was very nice to see Lee do that.
Having owned similarly priced guitars from each of these brands I would go ibanez every time, the quality control is so much better.
Interesting how people's opinions differ on the subject, because in my experience Ibanez guitars in that price range have always been a very poor value, with spotty quality control. Schecters tend to be the best quality IMO, but they aren't always the most attractive guitars.
I have the red satin version of that Jackson and it's absolutely flawless. QC is definitely not an issue on those.
The Ibanez's in my country are very, very poorly made. I don't know if they sent us the shite ones, but judging from what I've seen - the quality control is terrible.
@@crummockiphail9720 yeah that is interesting, maybe all brands suffer from the occasional poor quality instrument coming through, or maybe it is different factories producing guitars for the same brand. Either way i found its best to pay the premium and go try a guitar in a store first. Also the retailers will have some amount of control over checking set ups coming from the factories before selling them on.
It heavily depends on where it was made. I would go out of my way for a Japanese Ibanez, and pass all day every day on a China Ibanez
man i love me some jackson soloist. hotrails are dope.
I've owned two Schecters - still have one, and it's still my best axe. I now have two Ibanez axes - an RG and an EX - nearly the same in many ways and both modified. (The Schecter is still stock.) I've had two Charvels, but they were from the old Jackson/Charvel company, before Fender bought it. That means I've never had any of the current crop of Jacksons or Charvels. I haven't had hands on any of the guitars you featured here, but I would choose the Schecter over the other two. Of course, I myself would get one of the Floyd-equipped Reaper-6 models; I've gotten re-addicted to Floyds (Damn!😎). I liked all of the guitars, but I found myself hoping that the Schecter would win you over -- maybe because of the one I own.😎 In any case, I think that it would be hard to go wrong with any of the guitars you featured ... but that said, someone would have to kill me to get that neon orange thing on me! (I didn't like that sort of thing in the Eighties, either!😎)
Good show, gentlemen! Next time, though, you might consider choosing one type of bridge for all the guitars ... you know, hardtail or vibrato. Lee, your point about the Jackson's lack of sustain was well taken, but what would the same guitar have done had it had a hard tail? You might try removing that variable in the future. Just a thought. Cheers!
I tried a Ibanez when in my old band.. My hand ached after playing one song.. The necks are too thin for my liking they give me cramp. Yet Jackson & Washburn necks feel just right to me.. in a rock guitar context.
Tybok C they have a range of neck shapes on a large range of various guitars.
Go Pro is probably my favorite member of the team.
Just put a big brass block in the back of that Jackson's Floyd.
That should solve the sustain issue.
put in a Schaller FR with a brass block and the guitar will be sorted.. I intend to do the same to my Jackson..
I went through this debate recently and ended up with a Schecter Demon-7 in white... No regrets. I love it.
Ibanez are wonderful value for money; their guitars and bass's play beautifully.
True - I've got an Ibanez S670 in Dragon Eye Burst - £500. Tasty.
@Tarvu "basses"
@@nightwishlover8913 I have the SR300 bass and I love it. Feels like it's worth a lot more :)
My personal Problem with Ibanez guitars is that they loose value. But I’m not a guy who is selling his stuff so... 😅
@@jdl2180 Where crap?!
The video editing just gets better and better with age!
Rob really loves people watching him play
Just bought this exact model of soloist. Took many years to find one as discontinued. Love it. The pick up config is disappointing though. Positions 1,3 +5 are simply series humbuckers. 2+4 are series humbuckers together. No coil split or out of phase. Mod required!
Man the GoPro stuff is so much fun to watch! More!
Not so keen about the captions over the top but yea the angle is good.
I own the same Ibanez RGAIX and I can say its one of the the best metal axe for the price. Tuning stability (optimal for low tuning), super low action, snappy attack from ebony fretboard and bolt on neck. Pickups are high output but really defined and with lot of clarity. Versatility with split coil.
Downside: not for blues-pop players, pickups are failry compressed and not suitable for cleans turning down volume pot.
Great axe for the price, and killer with aftermarket pickups like Bareknuckle or medium gain Dimarzio!
Never thought I'd see a Huawei discussion here.
This was cool seeing you guys chill and have a conversation where you talk a little shop.
If only they had ESP/LTD there also. Cool video still, i just think many people are choosing between Jackson and ESP or LTD.
This comment!!!!
Chappers is still ESP artist, figure answer for yourself ;)
Ibanez is best just saying
@@cosmokeranen2186 In this video it think it might be. This example of X-series, might not be the best. I got one X-series, and it has neck-thru, EMGs, and the Floyd isn't licensed.
Would love to know what ESP has to offer at the same price point.
@michael wilson good to know Mike! I'll be there soon on reverb for the same guitar or maybe the Horizon. Not sure which one is better at the moment but it's definitely better than Ibanez.
Only recently I went out a tried a few guitars in that price range, strangely I tried all three of the guitars demonstrated in this video.. only to walk out with the Schecter Reaper 6.. this guitar is just full of tone from the shredding high gain, to the tailed off volume blues tones..
The fret edges are smooth and you hardly feel the notches.. but the fretboard is nice and thin (not too thin) and you feel as if your fingers are in the fret rather than floating around the fret (that bit doesn't make sense unless you're in my head 😁)
Reaper 6 is amazing. I would suggest this guitar to anyone looking to pick up a versatile axe..
* I purchased the Floyd version
to me : schecter is my favourite brand because of body is more attractive to me. Also , the tone is really a smash to because it sounds really big , agreesive , tight and varsitile in any music . The last thing is that schecter guitar body shape like c1 , tempest , t shape , flying v and so forth . If i perform on the stage or recording in the studio , i feel more comfortabl with these guitar
ibanez : i just only choose az series with 24 frets and dual humbucker
I get you guys wanna show off the website, but we can all go online. Part of the fun of these videos, for me at least, is you two going through the store shopping.

@@AD1978leo OMG,do they really make it like that? I though you modded it yourself!
Being of an age when the guitar I most wanted in the world was pink 80's Charvel... Instantly I fell in love with the Jackson.. But (and I know it's hard to judge from a video) that Schecter really does sound great.
Who would have thought a SHRED video would be informative, mature and enjoyable.......nice one.
Captain Keith here. Schecter guitars are the snizzle. Sound, playability, looks, price ect. I got one then found another. Well you know the story. I have Gibson, Ibanez, Fender and others. Schecter is a guitar you’ll find yourself going back to and find the one used to compare others to. Good episode, enjoyed it.
The Jackson sounded far the best over my iPad speakers
The vibrato/tremelow on the black Ibanez looks a lot like a modern take of a hard mounted bendmaster trem, which I dearly love! With fine tune knobs on their 2 point floating trem & a locking nut on the headstock instead of one on the fretboard which gets in the way like the set up of a floyd. Westone guitar's came with a proper set up & a locking nut that was out of the way(on the headstock, the way guitar Gods intended!

I have a Jackson X Series Soloist with a 2 HH configuration. The guitar looks and plays great and I love it. The only issue I had with it when I got it was the Duncan Designed pickups. These are Korean made Duncan's. They sound a little muddy and you have turn compression up to get any real sustain out of them. I swapped them out for real Duncan's. I put an SH-1 ('59 PAF) in the neck and put a JB-TB4 in the bridge. OMG! What a major difference!
Controversial suggestion: Solar vs Chapman vs Harley-Benton
ER Webster I’ve seen some Harley-Bentons around but never had looked into them that much
@@sethshepherd6816 Eh, I don't think they are on the same level as Solar or Chapman. But then, I've never tried one either! I agree. But as a shop you rather have people come in and look around (and stumble upon something else ), then see them turn at the door and go to another shop.
I think I was thinking more of those that were just Internet shopping rather than those with the ability to pop into the shop. The problem with the just looking at what's in the shop is that stuff might be at the warehouse.
That Jackson is glowing!
no charvel, esp ltd, ... ?
Well, if it was me I'd think hard about saving up and buying a Charvel (which is the correct answer) but there isn't one with a Floyd in budget at Andertons.

Ive just got a lower end South Korean Schecter and it is working out really well.
The three most under rated guitar brands out there in my opinion. People get so hung up on Gibson and Fender. These sleeper brands as i like to refer to them are made SO well. They are absolutely amazing guitars. I’m a Jackson fanboy personally but i have Ibanez and Schecter models in my wishlist. I don’t care where a guitar is made. I have a Jackson Dinky and a Soloist SLX and I love both, they play and sound great. My Jackson Dinky was made in china and I believe the Jackson soloist SLX was Indonesian made? Either way. I don’t care where its made. A good playing, feeling, and sounding guitar is just that. Regardless of where its made. If people would play a bunch blindfolded and I’m sure people would be pleasantly surprised at how good guitars felt that they never looked at or considered simply because of where it was made. People are just too hung up on country of origin. All that nit picking just to plug into a made in China amp… makes no sense to me. Just play what you can afford and what feels good and enjoy the guitar.
Jackson is owned by Fender btw lol
Monster munch and a fine chilled UM Bongo. Pure class
Schecter is really rich sounding...
true but I hate their necks and frets are garbage so sharp and poor quality. Go Jackson USA or Ibanez J Custom and be happier.
@@GuitarsAndSynths Aren't Jackson USA very expensive. I would love a lefty one.
I agree, but I would choose the one with the other features that I want and playability, as I figure I'm going to throw a set of Duncans or some other aftermarket pickups in to replace the proprietary ones in these (or Duncan Designed, in the case of the Jackson).
@@GuitarsAndSynths I agree, they cut corners in on the lower end series. Pick up one for £1000+ and it outplays PRS for the same price! Feels nicer as well. I was shocked.
@@GuitarsAndSynths can you really compare a Jackson usa to a mid priced schecter? Nothing what a little fret polish can't fix anyway.. I've never had a bad schecter.
The simplicity is subtle.
when is the new Gibson SG lineup video coming????
Been a schecter player for 20years. One brand I always go back to
By the way I was interested in that Schecter at one point. I ended up saving money until I got an SLS Elite instead but I called Schecter themselves to ask about those Decimater pickups in the reaper guitars. They are a Korean built version of their own US custom shop Brimstone pickups. Less expensive materials than the actual custom shop ones but wound to the same stats and magnets.
@ibraheem elanwar I bought mine from Sweetwater.com best site in the US to get guitars from. They are sold on most sites though so as long as you find a site that sells Schecter guitars that ships to your area you should be able to find one. If you're in a place Sweetwater can ship to I would go with them. You can actual see high def images of the actual individual guitars they have in each model and not only get the guitar model you want, but also the exact guitar itself. It's about as close to shopping in a regular store as you can get from an Online store.
@ibraheem elanwar I really like the guitar best guitar I've ever bought or played. That being said I'm also in a Schecter Facebook group and the opinions there on the Pickups are all over the place from Great to people wanting to replace them. The guitar itself is probable one of the most sought after in the group outside of the pickups though.
I will say a lot of people who don't like the Fishmans probable didn't give them a far shack though as they are different than any other type of pickup. They have a very wide tonal range witch basically means how they sound is much more about how you EQ your amp. So in other words if it isn't sounding good tweak the EQ settings on your amp to get it to sound how you want. Basically most other pickups have a sort of natural EQ of there own that your amp's EQ will have to fit with. Fishmans are more pliable and can be made to sound like a wide variety of pickups depending on how you set the amps EQ.
Basically I'm saying they are great pickups if you give them some time and try to work with them.
@@loneponderer495 That's actually really interesting to know! I have a Reaper-6, it's my first decent guitar as I only got serious about learning to play in the last year or two. Drums have been my main instrument for 15 years and only had a cheap Strat copy sitting around for some basic powerchord stuff until I got the Schecter Reaper.
Didn't know much about which brand of guitar to go far, I knew that Ibanez was a safe, ubitiqous choice and that I would most likely also enjoy an LTD as ESP seem to be a decent company. In fact they have been my favourite guitar brand throughout the whole time I've not known much about guitars, purely because their guitars look cool and a lot of my favourite bands/player use them. But never had any personal experience playing an ESP/LTD unfortunately.
I ended up getting the Schecter Reaper-6 because the retailer I used (Bax-shop) does a hire purchase thing where you can just put down a 30% deposit, pay monthly for a minimum of 4 months and choose to send the guitar back or pay the remainder and keep it at any time after. So that turned having only £200 to spare into £600 budget for a guitar. However Bax only do that hire purchase on models in-stock in their warehouse, and many brands were only available to be ordered on request. Schecter was one of the brands they actually had a number of in-stock models in. I did a quick bit of research and saw that even though using their own branded pickups can be an indictator of a very budget guitar, Schecter was different as they actually sell their pickups standalone and built up a good reputation early on as a parts shop.
I would've gone with the Floyd Rose version if it was in stock but only the hardtail was. I do really like the feel of the guitar though, especially the slim neck. Feels easier to play than anything else I've tried - which isn't a a long list to be fair. Apart from the neck my other favourite aspect is the pickups. Seem to be very versatile with the coil split - being able to coil split the neck pickup is cool and gives me a completely different tone to the bridge in humbucker mode. So it's cool to hear they are based, as you say, on some of Schecter's custom shop pickups.
Interesting you mention about the Fishman pickups too. Never played them but from listening to demos online/on UA-cam I really like the sound of them. They seem to have a particularly clear, hi-fi sound to them. The ones I seem to like the most are the Javier Reyes signature - really cool that they each have 2 different voices and a coil split (with option to choose which coil is used). I'm definitely keeping the Reaper-6 as I've already paid off 85% of it with the hire purchase payments so it would be silly to return it and only get back the 30% deposit. But I already know what guitar I'd like to get nexy - a 7 string with a Floyd Rose. As much as I'd love to have an LTD, it's another Schecter that I'm most drawn to - the Hellraiser. Looks bad-ass, has the same slim neck as the Reaper, and already has active pickups with 2 push-pull knobs so if I wasn't so keen on the stock EMGs it would be easy to swap them out for some Fishmans. And it's a very reasonable price for the spec too!
@@dreammachine86 Glad to hear you're enjoying your guitar. I was an anti-brand sort of guy until I kept finding Schecter's when shopping based on specs instead of brand. I got 5 different ones now. They a built very well and are good at keeping up with what players want from a spec standpoint. Also the Facebook cumunity is really good one of the best I've been a part of.
That downward shot makes Rob look like Wayne static at 70 love you bro great playing
I still think Ibanez makes some of the best guitars for the money that you're going to find anywhere. They're a TON of guitar for the buck.
I have 6 Schecters. I grab one of them before my Gibson Les Paul, Jackson or Charvel every time. Seems like the cheaper the Schecter the better it plays but I love them all. Gonna buy a Reaper next.
I'm happy to see shreddy Rob back but.....
Where's ESP LTD, Charvel, EVH?
As an American consumer, the country of origin absolutely matters. When manufacturers started moving from WMI to Indonesia we waited until the skill levels came up. Given a choice it's always going to be American preferred for say Fender/Gibson and Japanese preferred for Ibanez/ESP "super strats" etc
Haha! Loving the new “third man” in the form of the GoPro!
Jesper Henriksen Hm. I mean, it doesn’t affect the sound at all. Not sure how it keeps you from listening. If you’re concentrating that much on the sound, you can always just close your eyes anyway.
So happy you chose the Schecter overall. My favorite brand of guitar.
I‘m yet to see one person who doesn‘t go instantly „Wow“ while trying one of my Schecters. They‘re just something else.
"Imagine being in a Ibanez sales meeting" lmao
That schecter sounds amazing! I find the schecter p.u. super clear and responsive.
No LTD? why?
You can get a 1000 series for under 500 shipped anyday used
Since your asked...as an American, and having grown up a machinist and the son of a machinist I know the quality of the product is dependent on the worse employee in the factory. I have 3 American made Gibson's and they're all outstanding quality. That really does factor in on my decision. Being a lefty guitarist sometimes I have to just mail order and hope for the best. I have a Schecter Keith Merrow KM1 and although it's nice there's some fit and finish issues. I recently bought an LTD TE-200 and I basically had to disassemble the entire guitar and reassemble it including replacing a bad switch. It was also filthy inside.
Cap had a super british moment: "I have been known from time to time to partake in a touch of shreddage." :D
I have a chinese made epiphones les paul 1960 tribute and it is perfect in every way. perfect feel, stays in tune forever and the sound with the gibson PUs is crazy
Ibanez genesis are unbeatable - such good quality for the money.
@michael wilson cool story bro
@michael wilson LOL what a conclusion. Typical. Says the one that first cried about them lol
@michael wilson I'm not the one crying about a guitar manufacturer on multiple comments lol. Have a nice day
@michael wilson 'Neither am I' - Sees comments- Hmmmmmmmmmm. Haha. And that reply instantly makes me a 'triggered fanboy, butthurt crybaby'? Sounds like the typical 12 year old keyboard warrior bullocks. What does that make you then? Being triggered by Ibanez so much you had to type multiple shitposts lol. I just find that hilarious and hypocritical. By the way, I also own ESP, Gibson, Charvel, Kramer and Yamaha guitars. Hmm yeah i'm such a fanboy. But Hey, great discussion mate, 8 out of 8.
I really enjoyed this one. It really felt like just hanging out playing guitars and talking about whatever. Thanks! -Also, that cheap floyd rose probably has a zinc sustain block. Replace with steel or brass with twice the mass for actual sustain and tone.
Upgrading the Floyds on my Ibanez axes was the first thing I did -- from whatever pot metal was originally there to steel-and-brass units. Made a huge difference off the bat! Next stop: Fret jobs! (The newer of these axes was built in 2001, so they're old -- even vintage!😎) My suggestion is to replace the entire vibrato -- that's what I'd do!
Rob, when I saw the title for this video... I thought " well fuck that choice is almost impossible" but my heart always goes jackson
I bet that Jackson would open right up with some new pickups. The Duncan designed ones are a bit dark.
