This came out of your 2.5 , bigger holes and few more adjustments.Yours and T5 have blocks and heads way stronger, but R is still iconic piece to own ❤❤❤
How many of these cars with a reasonable amount of miles on them are out there? I have seen a few that already have 250K+ and are at the end of their lives. If I could get one in excellent condition with 125K-150K miles-- I’d grab it in a heartbeat. The S60R by Volvo was one of the quirkiest sports car ever.
That's a beauty! Can I take advantage and ask if you have any idea why my 06 s60r (automatic) drops gears on the freeway on hot days… rare, intermittent, but it drops to a lower gear… no one seems to know. Volvo wants to sell me a new tranny, but the gears seem find. I have two Rs, the other is an 04. The 06 is hardly driven. Also have an S60, which I gave my daughter. She wants the R :)
Thanks! id say first scan with VIDA and see what codes you are getting. this is the easiest way to narrow it down. If there's no transmission codes then I'd think trans is fine. You could also check the throttle body and clean it
Respect for a fellow Washington stater. I've been looking into getting one of these babies. I would love to see more content. Will check your other vids for sure!
Thanks! Its actually the Factory/OEM sport kit. Includes the front winglets, rear trunk spoiler, rear bumper and side skirts. Can be added after, if you're able to find a set.
Next car definitely gonna be a Volvo. I'm surprised how affordable they actually found some good used ones 12,000 and under. Not necessarily an S60r but still a Volvo. Excited for my new purchase.
I own a 2008 Volvo S60 2.5. I love it and I’d love to make it faster and do other mods to it, but seeing that the s60r is much better platform is it even worth trying to get power out the non R s60? I feel like it would be more money and the upgrades wouldn’t get me to where I’d want to be. But also the s60 I have just hit 100,000 and it’s in good condition so it’s definitely reliable
Is it the T5? If so, I would keep that instead of getting the R. I've heard the R's cylinder walls are prone to cracking and that the T5's are more reliable.
Its actually a factory option, the OEM sport Kit. The bumper I believe is the same on all the S60Rs. The two lower parts are the 'winglets' from the sport kit
Gorgeous S60 R. Had a ‘10 S40 R-Design AWD with a 6 speed manual. Loved that car. Now I have a ‘98 S70 T5 M I picked up as a little project and I wanna do a few moderate things to it.
A Volvo in its natural habitat!
Agreed!
What a beautiful automobile, I own a 2006 S-60 2.5T AWD, in winter time so much fun to drive, Volvo for life.
They really are a timeless machine

Sounds like it is hibernating, waiting to overtake M3s on the ring.
haha yes, i love this
I have an S60 as well with the same color, but it's the 2.4 n/a. That first shot looks beautiful and I love the body kit, wish mine had that.
I have a 2.4 n/a as well! my daily. Thank you!
@@wbsnow93 Oh nice, how is the consumption between the two S60's?
@@calamityyy I get high 20s regularly to low 30s on road trips for the NA but the R gets some more spirited driving lol around 20mpg
Not only the sound great, everything perfect & awesome , Old Volvo Never Die
1:38 for goosebumps

Can easily find one in that range, I'd hold out until you find one under 100k if you can, I found mine with 28k. They are definitely one of a kind
@@wbsnow93 28K miles? What did it cost?
What’s the body kit? Also wondering if you know a site to buy headlamp washer covers for an 08 S60
its the stock oem body kit. hmm you could try VIVA, FCP, IPD
God I miss my S60R, 455 Grey Atacama too :(
Gotta get another before they're all gone!
Where did you get that moose badge for the front grill?
beautiful

Are those wheels from XC60 model?
They're actually made by a Canadian company - Fast, model: FC04 18"

Thanks! Its just part of the OEM sport kit that is a factory option on the R
What exhaust you running?
its an 8EightFab downpipe and an IPD catback
@@wbsnow93 perfect exhaust setup I’ve got the same bro 👍
What’s the name of the kit you got, I have a 09 s60 I wonder if it’s going to it.
Its a factory option actually, it was called 'Sport Body Package' and includes the front 'winglets', rear lower bumper, trunk spoiler, and side skirts
Solid, more respect rotors on right way 💯
What rotors?
They're Adams Rotors, Their site has ben down a while though, not sure what's going on there
