With 803 more episodes to go! Man, there are so many episodes I am really looking forward to showing you all.

I really wish i had done this. Every episode, it's great to watch your skill set get better. I would love to be able to go head to head with all the boys one more time.

I also wish more players had done something similar. It would have been so much fun to have similar series from highly experienced players in the game (such as yourself), especially if they also had live commentary. I would have loved to be able to hear their thought process, reactions and split-second decision making.

Do you ever use the static ground machine ground posts?

I used them once in a blue moon. I rarely used the guns at the mountain since they were prime targets for snipers, but I would sometimes use the machine gun at the lighthouse to take out enemy players as they spawn. I seem to remember using one of the machine guns on the mountain briefly in a recent episode (or maybe I'm confusing it with a future episode).

    What's your favorite map?

    • @LeotseilGaming
      @LeotseilGaming  15 днів тому +2

That would be Wake Island. All the maps are fun, but there is just something special about Wake Island. It does have some negatives, for instance that you can easily end up having to spend a lot of time going from tail of the island to the other to get to the action. Guadalcanal is probably the best map as far as not having to spend a lot of time searching for action (it is also the only map where you have a reasonable chance of escaping a base spawn trap), but Wake Island is still my favorite. It has a special "feel" for lack of a better word. What about you?

@@LeotseilGaming They are all very good, but I typically played as a rifleman and loved closer fighting. So, I lean towards Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima as my favorites. I feel like Guadalcanal led to base camping, so I think Iwo Jima was the best. Wake Island sometimes takes too long to find action, there is a lot of circling around the island if teams don’t play well as a team, and I was bad in a plane. Planes have a bigger impact on that map IMO. I wish I spent more time becoming a good pilot.

Yeah, having to spend time finding action was definitely a weak point of Wake Island and it did depend on team work. However, if you were at the action, and your team worked together, it was so much fun. The weak points of Wake Island, could also be some of the strong points under the right conditions. There was nothing like fighting with an effective team along the tails of the island. The narrow tails made the fighting more focused and all going in the same direction, giving a nice sense of progression.
It was definitely easier to base camp in the enemy base on Guadalcanal, but at the same time it was easier to escape if an enemy team tried to trap you in your home base. Towards the end I would rarely play as a sniper, but one exception was when my team got base trapped on Guadalcanal. Then I would try to go all guerrilla and sneak around as a sniper, heh. If you got base trapped on the other two maps, however, and the enemy team had some decent pilots, there was almost nothing you could do. This is probably my biggest criticism of the game, that it was a bit too easy to trap the enemy team in their base if they happened to loose all their flags at one point.
Now, while I was not a fan of base trapping, spawn camping a flag on the other hand was one of life's simple pleasures, haha. I feel that was different, though, since they could always choose to spawn somewhere else. But if they want to continue to spawn at a flag where I stand ready with my rifle grenade (and they know it), who am I to deny them, heh?
Iwo Jima was also a lot of fun. Some of my favorite moments in the game have actually been on Iwo Jima.
I know what you mean about wishing you spent more time becoming better in the plane. I felt that too. I have some future episodes where I try to practice maneuvers with the plane, though (usually to have something to do while my team is base spawn trapping the enemy team, haha). But there was just not enough time.
Man, it was not only the planes, but so many aspects of the game I wish I had more time to practice and improve my skills. There were still so many things I wanted to do with the game, so many areas where I wanted to improve. When I first started posting BF1943 videos, I actually had plans to make an analysis-series where I spent time analyzing my gameplay footage in order to identify weak points and reflect on how to improve. And of course publish videos of these findings so that they perhaps could help new players. I scrapped those plans quickly when EA announced the shutdown.
However, I still wanted to improve, but then it became a balance of what to spend time on: trying to practice specific tricks and techniques, or just play the game in order to get more episodes. After I decided on trying to reach 1000 episodes, I ended up choosing the latter. I would still try to improve, though, but for the most time just improve naturally by playing the game (and by watching YT videos from top players. I learned a lot from watching Craig007UK's videos as well as videos published by other players). There are still a few tricks I haven't learned as far as my current episodes are concerned.
Well, this answer turned out longer than I had planned, hehe.

Watching your video reminds me that I love the lighting on Iwo Jima.
Your reply makes me realize I love Wake Island too. 😂 I probably played that map the most, but good luck to tanks on that map when there is a good pilot.
Maybe some day we will get a chance to play this again. It seems crazy that there is no outlet for that.

@sappyjohnson Oh, yeah, skilled pilots had a field day taking out tanks on Wake Island, and I was always so bad at taking out planes with the machine gun, heh.
I've seen people on the BF1943 Discord trying to get BF1943 working on 360/PS3 emulator. It will be interesting to see if they can get it working correctly (while not getting shut down by EA), and if the barriers to entry will be low enough that they can get enough players playing.

Я записал все видео заранее, до закрытия серверов. Хотя сейчас уже не поиграешь, у меня хватит видео ещё на несколько лет.
