I had no idea about the Anthem brand and what caught my eye was the new MRX x40s face which had a huge LCD panel. After researching the brand and reviews I purchased an MRX 540 and it completely blows my Marantz SR5000 series and Denon out of the water. I don't ever see myself going back to Japanese manufacturers. The tech, sound and the software included in the receiver is next level.
Also. It would be really usefull if we could adjust speaker distance during calibration or even better quick measure That way we can adjust delay on our subs. To adjust delay, we have to adjust it on screen then run the whole cal process again. Really dumb way of leaving it. Every other AVR cal system allows you to adjust delay .
Very nice functionality. Would love to see if the "target" is actually met, because no Processor doesn't ask for a second measurement after the EQ-ing and filters to see if anything changed. Also would love to see an input for "angle" in deg of each speaker, because that makes a lot of difference when object audio is played. Not everyone can place speaker in the perfect by specification location.
I've been thinking to upgrading to the anthem From the Yamaha 2070 Was looking towards the 3080 But thinking of going towards anthem 720 What do you think of the 2
Hi Guy we do like the anthems, They are designed to do the job without the “fuzzy” extras. Yamaha focuses a bit on surround effects that we simply don’t need. if properly set up the ambience is delivered in the audio track. Likewise I find the ARC in Anthem to be very good indeed. I believe superior to YPAO. I don’t dislike Yamaha I just think Anthem has the edge. I would wait to see what’s around the corner :-)
@@HomeTheatreEngineering Thanks for the feedback Yeah I was thinking of waiting Sense everyone is bringing their new products out I know anthem has been out for a few years now
@@Guy-zt1eb new Anthem receivers are out this month. Now if the perfect time to either get one of the new ones or buy a used one for a lot cheaper as people upgrade. I just picked up an mrx 720 and blows my Yamaha and Marantz away.
Just what I needed. I just purchased the AVM60 and loving the sound. My question is that I Have dual SVS sb2000pro's and I use the svs app to control the volume. Since the AVM60 is in parallel and not individual, should I use a miniDSP 2x4 HD so I can set up the subs independently?
Daryl Austin yes you can, The ARC white jacket academics prefer you carry out the best calibration on the first subwoofer before adding the next- the same can be said for Paradigm and Martin Logan subs that are ARC enabled.... you must ARC the Sub before you ARC the system. Place the subs in the best position... use quick measure.... perhaps move the sub (if you can) or move the people to get a great result
@@paulmclean250 First off thx for the response much appreciated. So I would run quick measure( I cant moved the subs, they are placed in a fixed position . Both upfront about 6ft apart and about 10 ft from listening position.) After I run a quick measure, then I run the ARC genesis for the full system. Then after that, run the REW for the Minidsp for the subs?

Can I use the Arc mic to perform REW and Mini DSP (even though the calibration file won't be recognized by Rew), or do I have to purchase another lke a Umik One ?

Thanks for this video. I have a mini DSP 2x4 and 2 paradigm defiance subwoofers plus I am about to purchase a anthem av receiver. I am keen to know what is the best way to calibrate. Should I use the mini dsp to eq each sub first, then run the arc on the subwoofer, then finally the arc on the av receiver? I have some experience with the mini dsp. Or should I run the arc on each subwoofer first then use mini dsp before the arc on the av receiver?
Question ive being asking Anthem with no reply, is why cant i run my subs hot? Everytime i run gen, i get the " subs too loud turn the subs down" message and cant continue? Extremely annoying. Theyre my subs, i run them as loud as i want. Why cant arc allow the calibration yo continue regardless of sub output? The older ARC did? Wasnt an issue then.
ARC can control the level of all your speakers except active subs.. so for example if you wanted to run a different speaker "hot" it wouldnt let you.. but it cant control your subs. It needs ALL speakers to calibrate at the same level, say 75 or 80db or within a few db of that target. If the subs run too hot during calibration it clips the test signal by comparison with other speakers. A clipped signal will not all proper assessment of the signal. So turn your subs down to the correct level, run the calibration you can either alter the target curve during cal for your subs or just turn them up when the cal is complete. But thats what you need to do for accurate measurement
Thks for the reply That makes sense. As long as i can turn the gain up after cal Ill set the subs to 75dB same as speaker channels. See how it goes. Cheers
Looking to get the Anthem avm 70 have you encountered any problems or bugs with these units.. Thanks

Why would I make a 2nd profile for stereo music? Wouldn't the 1st profile capture the same data?

Daryl Austin subs first, nail the subs as best you can with REW and miniDSP then ARC
@@paulmclean250 So Paul, I thought the best process is to run ARC first before making miniDSP adjustments. Is that not correct?
Lance Mathes miniDSP first.... or ARC when it’s built into a sub.... then ARC from processor last
